Who could be more inspiring than Jill Allanson? Jill and Evan Allanson established Lyndoch Lavender Farm and Cafe over 30 years ago, and although 'retired' Jill spent today 'International Womens Day' taking a group for their guided tour of the farm, as part of their Lavender TParty experience. Monarch butterflies are a common resident at Lyndoch Lavender Farm & Cafe. Today this one chose the safety of one our staff, Jade, and after sharing a drink with a bee, happily continued on its way. Bird Baths of varying sizes are strategically placed around our farm and property and are used everyday throughout the year by our wildlife. On extreme heat days like today they are a refuge for many. What better way to start the day. As the sunrises harvesting continues. The guys have done a terrific job, arriving in the dark, and harvesting the lavender by hand before the sun becomes to hot. @lyndochlavender It's now being dried and stripped or taken to our distillation area for oil extraction. The work is hard but they are certainly relaxed by the end of each work day.
