June 1 - August 9: Mercury in Cancer

Mercury in Cancer, now co-present with Venus and Jupiter, pulls us into our most sincere, vulnerable ways of communicating. This comes through words and acts that are nurturing and protective. In the most nostalgic sign of the zodiac, wading through memories becomes intuitive, instinctual and necessary. It’s a time for reunion, both in spirit and practice, calling us to honor our emotional integrity. This includes contending with tendencies toward excessive detachment or sentimentality. The retrograde phase is an especially opportune time for reconciling these extremes. 

Jupiter's year-long transit through Cancer has been about expanding our capacity to hold emotions, no matter whose they are or what they look like. It has offered opportunities to confront our emotional integrity: bringing up memories, reconnecting us with people from the past, drawing us closer to family, and testing us in caretaking roles. Venus here since May 19th, is presenting opportunities to relate within this wisdom. With Mercury, expect more conversations about emotional bonds, especially involving family (biological and chosen). Expect invitations to gatherings and community events, and sincere communication around emotions that are hard to contain.
