Foxtrot Charlie

At first Luna didn’t pay much attention to her brother. Still dosing off a sign of all her prescriptions. Then when Alyssa came in that’s when Luna realized her brother was here to stay. Adjusting herself so she could see her brother which still caused heavy wincing in pain,she spoke, “n-not really,Lase.” She swallowed hard as she looked at him. She knew he was trying and she loves him for that.

Laser chewed on his bottom lip as he watched her carefully. He didn’t know what to say he hadn’t really since she had come home. “Uh,I,Uh think we should try.” He continued to chew on his lip rubbing his hands together. “Nothing you say will get back to mom and dad. Promise.” He just wanted to be there to make sure she didn’t end up like him after his kidnapping. There were days he still had horrible days but he was definitely trying.

Days and weeks went by and Luna was still stuck at home attempting to get better. Not doing anything was driving the teen crazy. She wasn’t made to sit at home and binge watch movies with someone taking care of her all hours of the day. “C-can you get me some juice?” She asked her caregiver, Alyssa. The young girl nodded and went to the kitchen to get her client juice. Luna started to dose off while she waited and didn’t notice her brother come in the room.

Laser tried his best not to sneak up on his sister,he knew what she was going through. “Luns?” He questioned as he walked farther in the room. His voice even and calm. Laser waited until Alyssa came back in the room to wake his sister officially. “Alyssa,can you give us a few minutes?” He asked the nurse. The nurse smiled and nodded as she exited the room after leaving Luna her requested juice. “Do you want to talk about it,Luns?” He asked wanting to be his sisters understanding ear.

Laser had constant anxiety while he waited for his baby sister to wake up. He didn’t have good memories of the hospital and everyone knew this but he stayed for the sake of Luna. When she finally woke up a sigh of relief escaped from his lips. “Luns!” He exclaimed glad to see her eyes for the first time in a while. His parents were out in the hall talking with her doctor. “I’m so glad you’re okay. I needed you to be okay.” He admitted though really he needed both of his sisters to be okay always. He bit at his lip as he saw confusion on her face. “You’re in the hospital..you’ve got a lot of healing ahead of you.” He said looking down finding it hard to keep eye contact now. “Let me get mom and dad.” He told her giving her hand a squeeze before going to get their parents.

Emerson came into the kitchen and answered his wife’s question. “I reckon it’s the hospital.” He knew he shouldn’t have kept most of what had happened to himself but he didn’t want his family to be dragged through hell again. Too bad he couldn’t truly protect them from everything. “Luns.” He said as if it was completely simple.

Laser’s heart started to beat faster as he realized that the man who had made his life a living hell had his baby sister. “How the hell could you let this happen,dad? Letting it happen to me is one thing but Luns?” Laser shook his head at his father. He knew he couldn’t control what another human did but he was supposed to protect his family.

“Definitely sure.” Laser replies as her lips brushed his in a very teasing manner. He knew it was partly his fault for telling her to take a drink so she didn’t get dehydrated.

“Very.” Laser said with a chuckle. “Considering you’re the only one I want.” He admitted looking into her eyes. “Good can’t lose you.”

Luna swallowed hard as she listened to her brother apologize for something he couldn’t even control. He had been kidnapped not once but twice; ripped away from his family and forced to endure horrible things and here he was apologizing for it. “Lase..you know you don’t have to be sorry for anything you are going through. I just wish you would talk about it,I mean we all do. Sure we won’t understand where your head is at but hasn’t your therapist told you talking allows healing?” Another thing she wasn’t really good at but for him she would try anything. “The constant nightmares are because you’re keeping it all bottled up. And drinking to try and forget sure doesn’t help anything. Laser,I’m being honest with you,if you want me to talk you’ve gotta do the same.” She sighed heavily now imagining this to be a very deep conversation.

Laser sighed heavily all of this was bringing up the bad feelings which made his chest hurt. “Talking hurts,Luns. No one could ever begin to actually understand what  went through even if Sunny found me,she doesn’t know the half of it.” He started biting at his lip. “I ju-just can’t Luna. I can’t be that person anymore..who I was before is gone. I’m nothing like that anymore I’m weak,and can’t even go places because I’m scared I’ll have a flashback or something.” He just wanted everything to stop.
