All the photos they have of him with different family members picture him frowning with a little pout. He only ever smiled when he was in David or Yuna’s arms despite other people trying to make him laugh.

Because like, picture it, it's their first morning waking up together at the cottage, and after a little bit of lazy making out and cuddling, Shane decides he wants to sleep some more. So Ilya takes it upon himself to make breakfast, partly to thank Shane for everything, partly because he's now sure that he's absolutely in love with this man, and partly to show off his excellent culinary skills.

And even though Shane looks so touched when Ilya wakes him up with breakfast in bed, Ilya notices the smile drop slightly when his eyes land on the scrambled eggs. But then it's back twice as big a moment later as Shane thanks him, so Ilya figures it's nothing.

And then Shane actually starts eating and Ilya watches as he eats his bacon and all of the toast around the eggs. When Shane finally takes a small forkful of egg, he's like "Mmm, delicious," but he looks like chewing it is an effort in the way that scrambled eggs just shouldn't be.

"Shane," says Ilya, trying to fight down a laugh, but only because this man really is the sweetest person in the world, "is there something wrong with the eggs?"

"No!" he replies, a little too defensively, taking an even bigger mouthful. He immediately looks like he's concentrating really hard not to gag. Shane then takes an enormous swig of coffee like he's trying to wash it as far down as possible, and now Ilya is laughing because this man is ridiculous and his heart feels like it might explode with how much he loves him.

"If you don't like eggs you can just say so," says Ilya, grabbing his hand to prevent him from inflicting any more of it upon himself. "I won't be mad."

And Shane gives him the biggest most apologetic look with those stupidly beautiful brown eyes of his.

"It's just scrambled eggs," he mumbles, cheeks red as he sets down the plate on the nightstand. "Sorry, I should have just said. I just still feel like shit about that time in Boston and I... I didn't want you to think that it's a problem with your cooking or something."

And Ilya can't help it, he laughs and leans forward to steal a coffee-flavoured kiss.

"I know my cooking is not why you keep me around," he says, and runs his tongue over Shane's bottom lip. "And now I know that scrambled eggs are evil. You want me to help you forget all about them?"

Harris had showed Shane this trend one day after practice and jokingly says to Shane “You should do this with Ilya. I bet you’d get hella views” and Shane laughs it off but then is like wait this might actually be a good way to hold something over Ilya for always making him blush in front of all of the other guys.

So Shane starts watching tik toks and studies how he should act when doing this with Ilya.

The perfect opportunity to do it comes later that day when Ilya is sprawled on top of Shane with Shane’s hand in his hair. All sleep heavy and warm.

Shane starts recording without Ilya noticing as Ilya nuzzles his face into Shane’s stomach murmuring I love you over and over again. Shane smiles at the camera and then looks down at his boyfriend. “Are you tired, baby?” Ilya hums and kisses Shane’s stomach. “Just want to stay with you all day” Ilya murmured sleepily, continuing to nuzzle closer into Shane.

Shane couldn’t help but show the absolute admiration he had for this man on his face. “You can be so sweet when you want to be”

“I’m always sweet for you malysh.” Ilya starts kissing up Shane’s chest which has him thinking this video might take a turn soon.

“You’re my sweet boy.” Shane says as Ilya rubs his face into Shane’s neck. “Your sweet boy” Ilya turns his face to kiss at Shane’s jaw and then opened an eye, saw the phone camera, and immediately huffed “Oh shit” and dropped his head on Shane’s shoulder. Shane starts laughing hysterically and saves the video before posting it. Ilya is both gobsmacked and exhilarated about Shane’s quick decision to post something so private about their life together. “You are an evil man” Ilya says to his still laughing husband. “The guys will never let me live this down!”

The guys did not in fact, let Ilya live this down. “Hey lover boy” Troy smirked as Ilya strode into the locker room, Shane’s hand in his. “Has Roz been a good boy Holzy?” Tanner Dillon laughed. Ilya groaned and Shane couldn’t help but smile at his husband’s embarrassment. “Holzy has this man more whipped than cream” Wyatt says loudly, earning laughter amongst the teammates.

Cut to Ilya Rozanov hundreds of miles away up at 3 in the morning almost breaking his phone screen from how hard he's gripping it after replaying the 7 second clip for the 200th time and he's never been more hard in his life.

And he's the only one who knows where Shane Hollander learned to ride.
