For those in the US, it looks like there has been forward motion on the House bundle of bills they are calling "Keep Children Safe Act," including the App Store regulation. It is likely that some version of this could be passed by the end of July before the August recess and before the fall campaigning kicks off.

While the Senate has said that the House version is DOA, that's because they feel it doesn't go far enough and are apparently working with the White House to make a deal on loosening state level AI regulation ability as a trade of support on KOSA. plus we saw how quickly similar laws turned into "monitoring smart devices and cracking down on government criticism" in others countries when implemented.

Please call/email your representatives, your senators, and tell your family/friends. This is a privacy nightmare, and may even put sites like Ao3 and Tumblr at risk--anything these guys seem or perceive as "sexually explicit."
