LANDFILL -- open para no. 1
"Well, would you look at who it is," Liam announced in response to the Ravenclaw’s question, smirking at how displeased Lane was to see him. He hardly blamed her, feeling almost identically the same. Stepping around a few tall, looming trees, the light-haired boy drew closer, a look of curiosity in his eyes.
"Mind telling me why you’re out here, about to go disobeying school rules and such?" He asked in a mockingly chastising manner, disregarding the fact that the same could have been said about himself.
Liam had made it a habit to come out to get lost in the trees since his first year, exploring and otherwise enjoying nature without the company of others. That was, until he’d come across this particular student on his way out.
Captain Obvious, or so he would be called if not for Lane's distaste for the cliche at the moment. "Don't be so alarmed, Archie." The words rolled off her tongue in a bout of annoyance. Maybe the whole situation was that, though- a pestering male catching his infuriated prey just as she was about to go spend a positively nice day off in the forest. "You know I often travel out and about- or has it slipped your mind?"
Why he bothered speaking to her in the first place wasn't easily answered. He always seemed to find a mixture of frustration and joy in their interactions, whereas she only found the utmost contempt for such things. She could easily be on her way in an open space that neither appreciated nor despised her knowledge, but instead, she stood with a poor excuse for a seventh year. "I might ask you the same thing." She winced at the remark. How poorly unoriginal.
"Now, be on your way or find another path. I've much on my mind and I don't need low levels of intelligence surrounding me." Lane picked a wild flower from the ground and tossed it at Liam, as if it would do anything to get him far away. He couldn't be in her head space, or nothing but bickering about irrelevant subjects would get done.
