It honestly blows my mind when someone calls Charles a straight boy. Like, did we even watch the same show?? Have you actually seen Charles onscreen for any amount of time at all? He’s sitting on top of furniture, a single dangly earring, and pants that cut off above the ankle to show off his socks. If that wasn’t enough, this boy looks up all the references Edwin makes so he can understand him, and then compares his crush to him because them having the same qualities is why he likes her. He starts acting like a jealous housewife as soon as another boy gets close to Edwin and threatens to punch the cat king the second he thinks he tried making unwanted advances on him. He compares himself and Edwin to Orpheus and Eurydice, one of the most romantic tragedies of all time (which he thought was ONLY romantic) then tells him they have the rest of forever to figure out what their relationship means to the both of them. Not even 2 minutes after they were told that they were safe from the afterlife and allowed to stay together, he starts overtly flirting with Edwin, leaning into him and joking about his charming smile when he already knows just how charmed Edwin is.

If after all that you still think this punkfuck 80’s boy is 100% straight then I’m so sorry but one of us is delusional here and it’s certainly not me

It might not have been the blue one Edwin was asking for but the pink one we all make fun of Charles about WAS THE ACTUAL CORRECT BOOK IN THE END!!!! CHARLES WAS RIGHT!!!! Charles' inherent ability to produce what Edwin needs is so strong it overrides basically everything else 😂

This isn’t just about getting a season 2: we’re trying to get justice for the cast, crew, and writers behind this unapologetically queer show. Netflix has gotten far too comfortable canceling fantasy shows, especially ones that are diverse or LGBTQ+ (like Dead Boy Detectives), and we want to send a message that our stories are worth telling.

Dead Boy Detectives is campy, whimsical, supernatural, and oh so delightfully QUEER! The age range of characters is diverse and the lead cast is ¾ POC! This show is full of drama, horror, magic, romance, action, stunning visuals, cunty villains, and hilarious quips. But my favorite part of all is the show’s heavy focus on themes of grief, overcoming trauma, and self-acceptance through emotionally provocative character arcs that will touch your heart. I feel confident when I promise you guys will LOVE this show and should check it out! It’s a perfect binge for spooky season at only 8 episodes!💜

ok, I noticed this a while ago, but everylineofDBD getting to this scene just reminded me of this. The conversation in the year book room is filmed in two different frames, one showing Edwin and Crystal, and the other showing Twitchy Richie and Charles.

the whole conversation is shot through these two set-ups, except for one frame that shows Edwin and Charles, and that angle is exclusively used for the line "what is a handjob?"

like, this is a frame they set up specifically and only for this line, to show Charles and Edwin together and at the same time. I guess you could call it ... suggestive?

Dead Boy Detectives Rant ^^

I am so frustrated Netflix cancelled Dead Boy Detectives, there has been multiple shows in which the reviews have been lower than Dead Boy Detectives which got a 92% on Rotten Tomatoes. Dead Boy Detectives also lead me on to Sandman which I thoroughly enjoyed, so DBD DOES encourage the audience to watch more of Netflix’s shows. I am also thinking of reading the comics rn. The tv show was also shot and edited really well so there rlly isn’t that much excuse to cancel it, Netflix if you do not allow a show to grow over time, how the heck is it going to have loyal audiences and actually GROW. DBD had a lot of potential which was utterly wasted, another positive of Dead Boy Detectives Tv show is that it is NOT made by Neil Gaimen, he only wrote the comics. Idk this is just my opinion :)
