I‘ve been seeing more posts by Dramione readers who are sad because they didn't finish a free story, which apparently disappointed them in some way. Apparently they feel ”let down.”

Or they are in a reading slump with the free stories and nothing satisfies them and they need a perfect recommendation to make them happy again.

And so others toss out their favorite free stories in the hopes that something might possibly appeal to these poor, jaded souls.

The prompts were all anonymous but as soon as I saw the pirate one I practically screeched. When I found out Jamie would be doing the art for it I definitely did screech.

Had the most fun ever doing this - huge thanks to @landbeorht for inviting me 😭. Two more chapters to come too, because how am I supposed to just write one?

An illustration I did more than five months ago now and never posted anywhere

Bristol photographed a young crewman of a US Navy “Dumbo” PBY rescue mission, manning his gun after having stripped naked and jumped into the water of Rabaul Harbor to rescue a badly burned Marine pilot. The Marine was shot down while bombing the Japanese-held fortress of Rabaul.

“…we got a call to pick up an airman who was down in the Bay. The Japanese were shooting at him from the island, and when they saw us they started shooting at us. The man who was shot down was temporarily blinded, so one of our crew stripped off his clothes and jumped in to bring him aboard. He couldn’t have swum very well wearing his boots and clothes. As soon as we could, we took off. We weren’t waiting around for anybody to put on formal clothes. We were being shot at and wanted to get the hell out of there. The naked man got back into his position at his gun in the blister of the plane.”

This is from December, back when I read a fic about secretary Hermione and a deeply, profoundly, catastrophically down-bad Draco, and my brain was taken over. I lost motor control and made this.

Something about her voice??? It's like she’s whispering directly into my brainstem.

Enya does the same thing for me. Both her and Imogen are spiritually adjacent to floating. My brain is sparkling. I have transcended.

INSPIRATION:

I know had references when I made this, but my Pinterest is a lawless wasteland, a digital sinkhole where things go in and never come back out.

So instead, I went on an archaeological dig and unearthed a collection of fragments from the depths. Consider this piece a reconstruction of that era.
