This post is not to have a go, start arguments or anything malice; this is for transparency and open discussions about the app.

I have seen some concerns about the previous version of the codex RE; file clean up for uninstall. "Why did the app delete files that it didn't create before" etc etc. This wasn't the case. Again, perhaps my wording could have been better but the new dev just wanted to have some more checks in place. This is what the hired dev said;

So after speaking to them they just wanted to add another step. They also thought instead of having just one .exe file and save stuff to the AppData / local temp folders, it should be a zip including all the files for the app, so when users want to delete the app they know where all the folders/files are.

Now in regards to the code signing, privacy and pricing is a big thing, I've seen people say "it costs nothing to pay to code sign apps". Please show me where its "nothing to pay" because this is the lowest I have seen to code sign the app. And after hiring a dev for this its simply something I cant justify spending right now. Especially when it shows my full legal name and the public can then explore to find my address... would you want your address and full name out there?

I have also had one question about "who is this new dev?". They have asked me not to share who they are or the company that they work with. Something to do with their employers / employers client confidentiality? I didn't probe further as I had done some research on the company prior, as well as the dev I have been working with and their reviews are positive.

I know last time I posted about this I got some comments pushing back on my use of AI for this app. I understand the concerns that people have, so i'm trying to be more thoughtful going forward. I have never used AI like this in the past, it was simply because I got given "Free Access" with the purchase of my new computer and I thought I would utilize the fact it was free to finally create something that I wanted. That free era is almost over but I won't be using it again.

I also got way more comments / messages saying how much they enjoyed the app. Thank you for both kinds of messages, good or bad.

After talking and discussing with people on both sides of the fence I have come the decision to hire a HUMAN developer to look into the app, look at its code, check for any "nastiness" that some people were worried out, and genuinely review and audit / fix any coding errors.

Going forward I will acknowledge that yes, the initial set up for this app was built with the help of AI, but future updates / current changes and anything else will be done by a hired human developer.

This developer gave me a comprehensive review of the app and confirmed there was no nastiness or weird stuff going on with the code - which I knew anyway but it's nice to have that confirmed.

They had some recommendations for some changes, such as as only allowing the app to read .package files / its own files. When "uninstalling" it should make sure it is only removing files it created - it should be doing that anyway but they recommended some more checks in the back end.

So they have edited some of the code already. But I hired them again to address the tightening of the code regarding the file reading and other recommendations they have suggested. Which again, has now been implemented.

So that being said... here is the Sims CODEX - again!

Note - The Sims CODEX is currently unsigned, so Windows / Some antivirus programs may show a warning. This is because code signing requires paid identity verification which displays my personal details. The app is offline, reads local Sims 2 .package files, and has had its source reviewed for unsafe behavior.

I know AI is a very divisive topic, and my wording could have been better. My intention was never to dismiss people’s concerns or cause arguments in the community.

I don’t condone harmful uses of AI, and I get the environmental and ethical concerns around it. I think the wider conversation should focus on accountability, regulation, and responsible use rather than targeting individuals.

That being said, I’ve removed the post linking to the CODEX download.

So I wanted to give a little list of things that I am working on right now, can't give a time frame but I thought I would share to answer some asks!

Open projects, the order is random!

Nice items and stuff from the latest EP, (Royalty and Legacy)

Some Felixandre CC sets - mainly the Estate set,

Roof pieces - Sims 4 textures on a new Mansard roof piece, some with windows in them,

Slimline wall cut-outs - a redo of the stair wall fixes basically,

Under the stairs cubbies - to go into new cutouts above,

Currently going through every single converted wall piece and adding in bump maps and reorganising them in the catelog.

Much longer age span / zodiac birthdays! Sims will only age on certain days, certain days have holidays,

Of course more conversions are on the list too but I want to do things that I want in my game first!

Hello, I just wanted to give an update on the latest pack conversions!

As some of you may know, the Royalty and Legacy pack seems right up my street! Fancy gilded items, with lovely stone windows and doors etc.

After looking at some of the meshes of some of the items, I am truly disappointed. There are gaps in the meshes, aka there is missing faces. Windows that are converted to Sims 2 had huge gaps in them - the reason being that in Sims 4 one side of the window is always hidden, whereas in the Sims 2 we can see the entire window.

Now I am no stranger in "fixing" these meshes, and making them look better and proper but this is going to be a lot of work and I just really don't feel like doing that right now.

I am sorry for those who are waiting for the conversions, I will probably just pick a few decent items and convert them for now. But this wont be a "full" pack.

I thought maybe its just Sims 2 things and it would look better in the Sims 4, and after touring the new world... jeeeeez. This pack is sloppy.
