Personal life-wise:

My cousin’s wife passed away on Saturday. I am deeply saddened. She had cancer, was only 35, and her daughter is only 6 years old, and her son is only 2 years old.

16 Things I Love About Smoke Signals:

1. It started with Draco being given the mission to kill Hermione and her parents but instead of doing it for Voldemort, he warned her about it then helped her safe her parents, then kept the secret.

2. The sixth year where Draco and Hermione had private Occlumency lessons together and they fell for each other because of knowing each other better. This also helped Hermione during the war.

3. Hermione got Snape's old potion book. Therefore winning the Felix Felicis.

4. She created a treatment from a Demonology book mixed with muggle medicine to treat Draco's infection because of the dark mark, since he didn't kil Hermione and her parents.

5. The treatment made them shared their blood, so they could share their mind, emotions, then even heal each other through it

6. That moment at Hagrid's garden 😭

7. Fleur killing Fenrir in full badass veela mode.

8. The second son's house and their first time happened because she said she wanted to do it "before the world ends."

9. Draco jumping in front of his father's killing curse to protect Hermione.

I had wanted to write a reaction for all the Dramione ffs I read, but got impatient and figured reading more was preferable.

I mentioned before that I started reading Dramione at the end of April, after a visit to the ER due to a bad GERD flare.

Somehow music and series overwhelm me. Perhaps I was more sick than I would even want to admit. I couldn’t handle videos, they all seemed so NOISY. Reading seemed to be the only entertainment I could consume, and I read without listening to music anymore, something I usually do.

The big stories (Manacled, The Rights and Wrongs series, Detraquee) were all scarily high in quality that diving head first into them was so fun.

At the same time, I, who usually fangirl over Kpop idols and groups, suddenly took a hiatus. Some things happened that made me feel a break would be best. I think only a fellow Kpop fangirl will understand, but here are the things I felt:

Mark leaving NCT and SM. I know, his right, of course. And I am happy for him. But it still was a hard pill to swallow.

I really wanted to watch JNJM fancon in Jkt but I couldn’t get the tickets.

I also wanted to watch EXO in Jkt, but again, couldn’t get the tickets.

I suddenly stopped becoming a Kpop fangirl.

I have been a fanfiction/alternative universe author for more than a decade, mostly for Korean pairings. I suddenly lost interest, haha. I don’t know how long will this hiatus take, or will I ever come back. We’ll see.

Shipping Dramione is very fun if I compare it to fangirling over Kpop. Here are the reasons. Please be known that this is just my personal opinion. I am not criticizing anyone. Just perhaps myself.

In Kpop, I realize a lot of the news could trigger negative emotions. Like anger, sadness, hysteria, hatred or a sense of lack. I have lessened checking on social media for Kpop updates for around 2 months, and I feel much better overall.

Fangirling over Kpop takes a lot of money. Buying merch and concert tickets is the culture. Of course it’s not a much, but I do them. Last year I went to 8 concerts. And although I didn’t regret it, going to just one concert so far this year is good for my bank balance, lol.

Reading calms me down. There are so many amazing stories, and I can devour them and spazz over it on Tumblr. It’s a very peaceful form of hobby.

My second quarter of 2026 is full of Dramione. Seems my third quarter will be the same.

She gets anonymous notes from admirers.

He got stabbed in the Great Hall during a meal.

Such was their new life.

It was the choices they made during the war.

But perhaps there is a middle ground.

Where The Golden Girl sees the ex Death Eater was not so bad after all.

And that one girl he had always tried his best to hate was the only one who could stop him from falling apart.

Slice of life, coming of age.

Light, sweet, with a touch of sadness, but never too dark.

Above all, hope.

1. Ron touching Hermione's hair when she's tying her hair is disgusting at this point. DON'T TOUCH MY GIRL! SHE'S NOT YOURS!

2. Also them getting caught when Harry stupidly said "Voldemort" when he should say You Know Who is so idiotic. I'm so angry now ARGH!!!

3. Malfoy risked his life to tell the Death Eaters were going to attack The Burrow, and Ron wasn't grateful at all. He's such a jerk here 😭

4. The expelliarmus near battle at Bill's house was so tense OMG. Nearly had a reflux.

5. But the way Malfoy and Hermione keep arguing is cute in their own definition 😭 like they just didn't know how to be civil to each other.

6. The first time Hermione said "thank you" To Malfoy because he agreed with her idea of not crossing a goblin. I melted to a puddle of goo.

7. Hermionetrix thanking Draco again, for everything. When he said it's weird, she answered arrogantly like Bellatrix would. He smirked 😭 OMG Malfoy can I smirk with you too 😭

8. And he saved her from Goyle's crucio, whispering it's thrice now.

9. Malfoy flew a broom and saved Hermione from the Fyendifire. And he saved Goyle too. This is getting better and better.

10. Hermione killed Bellatrix here, and it was GLORIOUS 😭

11. The things she said to him after the Battle of Hogwarts were cruel, but I guess it makes her and Malfoy even? He bullied her in the past. So her cruel words even it.

12. He didn't want her to apologize and she said she didn't expect him to apologize at all. After Fred's funeral. I want them to just be lovers already, but I guess they need to go through a process first.

I am thinking to create a customized notebook for my personal use.

1. Found an audiobook of this. It has been published too, so perhaps I can try it.

2. I like that it's around 15 years after Hogwarts, so they were in their mid thirties, and Hermione is a professor and healer and researcher at Trinity College, Cambridge. Wow! So deserving of Hermione.

3. The security test that Malfoy did on her office was fun

4. What were the asterisks on her schedule for? I'm not the only one wondering. Malfoy was curious too.

5. And the ring to alert him when she's in trouble, of course. Who doesn't love Dramione wearing matching rings?

6. HUH? The ring is a MALFOY HEIRLOOM??? Draco you've got to be kidding me! For a random auror protection job???

7. The ring was his parents' wedding rings! WHAT THE HELL DRACO? WHAT THE HELL???

8. And he put the ring on her hand. Lol. Are you guys getting married this early???

This audiobook is nice. I'm so into reading lately. Sometime last month, I felt overwhelmed with a lot of things, as I had a horrible GERD flare. I can't focus on videos or songs, so I read like it was a lifeline.

1. Malfoy read everything he gave her via Theo, then at the end of sixth year, he said this should stop. He couldn't afford anymore distractions.

But I really like to think that the books she lent were some of the few things keeping him sane that year.

2. He wrote this in her The Razor's Edge book:

Away, you three-inch fool!

OMG they're so cute!

3. Theo just basically said Hermione was a female Draco. He's so accurate, I love him.

4. Counting down to Dumbledore getting murdered in canon timeline but Detraquee version.

Dumbledore is a genius, but he's also very manipulative. Still, I love Dumbledore.

5. The dark mark is up the Astronomy tower. Dumbledore has died in Detraquee, but we see it from the POV of Gryffindor students and Theo.

6. The DA members were there in Detraquee. But they're not at the top of the tower. It was an interesting scene.

7. And Hermione and Draco talked behind that tapestry. After shouting at each other and she tied him, Malfoy asked her to keep Theo safe. Then he left, brushing shoulders, and that's it and I wish I could scream again.

8. That private moment of Dumbledore and Hermione at the Astronomy Tower during the third year was precious 😭 she's such a smart girl. She should deserve more praises by Dumbledore over the years.

He said he was sure she would do wonderful things in the future.

And that made Dumbledore's death so much more painful 😭

9. Harry in Detraquee saying he understood that Malfoy had no choice, and that he lowered his wand was nice 😭

10. Hermione and Theo's goodbye after Dumbledore's funeral was so heartbreaking. What would happen if he joined the trio on the horcrux hunt? Would it be better?

11. The preparation and until she altered her parents memories hurt so badly. My brave, brave Hermione 😭

She really did deserve a story like Detraquee, where her feelings and thoughts were the first priority. It's so satisfying to read.

12. Her first time here was with her neighbor, after she altered her parents' memories. She deserved something to numb herself and to feel less lonely. At least she wasn't alone that night 😭

13. She didn't cry the whole time she was preparing to alter her parents' memories, until she arrived at Ginny's room at The Burrow. I thought she was going to the Horcrux hunt without crying at all. I'm glad she did. It would be too painful if she holds everything in.

14. The rescue mission for Harry at the beginning of the seventh book but from Hermione's pov. So exciting!

15. When Voldemort appeared during the rescue mission with Hermione posing as Harry it was so terrifying. Did he read her mind? But why didn't he just kill Kingsley and Hermione, though? Not that I want it to happen.

16. I love how Hermione saw Fleur and Bill's happiness. She concluded that celebrating something happy was very important. A wedding in the middle of the war. It reminded them all of what they were fighting for.

17. Malfoy saved her during the attack at Fleur's wedding. And he was a double agent for the order. Thank you so much Detraquee, you eased the pain a bit.

18. Harry had a vision of Voldemort forcing Draco to torture Rowle. If not his parents will be punished. At least Harry knew about this.

19. 22.01 passed page 1,022. Ron is so annoying OMG 😭
