okay so picture this, Sev has a younger sister by three years. my whole backstory for this au is that a year after Sev started at Hogwarts (he’s 11, she’s 8) Eileen has kind of just had enough. she wants to leave because of Tobias, she can’t take it anymore and hangs herself. Tobias knows it’s his fault for his abuse towards her and the kids but he’s decided to shift the blame on the kids. Sev is more mature and he sees it for what it is but he’s also a child so it still gets to him. with his sister (don’t really have any name picked out yet) being younger, she absolutely believes it’s her fault and does not let up on this even though Sev has told her multiple times. Sev and his sister aren’t super close in a normal way it’s kind of just a trauma bond type thing if that makes sense, their personalities are so differing that if it weren’t for that they’d probably fight a lot (they do in the future). timeskip a few years of misery, Sev’s sister is starting at Hogwarts (she’s 11, he’s 14) and he has to help her prepare for it which is horribly difficult because they’re poor, his father is unwilling to (he’s honestly kind of just been a lingering ghost in their house that occasionally gets drunkenly mad and beats them), they’ve started arguing more, and Sev is still a child himself. yeah he’s had to grow up fast, but he’s still a kid nevertheless. so she starts at Hogwarts and gets placed in Gryfindor (do we see where i’m going with this?). being sorted into the house Sev seems to have the most problems with (aside from Lily) adds insult to injury. they’re already always butting heads, never agreeing, she always challenges his authority, and now she’s sorted to Gryfindor. fantastic. she knows this isn’t exactly a good thing either so she kinda trudges along to the Gryfindor table and inevitably meets the marauders. she knows of them because Sev has spoken about them before so at first she tries to stay away from them during the feast but ultimately caves because she knows no one else and is too afraid to make any friends of her own. she takes a liking to Remus because even though all of them are jerks, he’s definitely not as much of a jerk and she finds that he’s pretty sweet in his own way. Sev does NOT like this, he’ll admit that Remus isn’t as bad as the others but that doesn’t make it any better that she’s hanging out with his tormentors. because of this, he kind of avoids her the first week of school and it upsets her a lot. yeah she’s a hothead and they argue a lot, but she still feels very deeply and Sev has been the only person in her life for a very long time, now he seemingly wants nothing to do with her. this sort of continues, they’ll occasionally talk but he mostly brushes her off and she slowly gets closer with Remus. when the school years end they’ll go home and they’ll talk a bit more but it’s a matter of survival, not because they want to. time skip (again): she’s in third year, he’s in sixth (she’s 13, and he’s 16. she’s found her own friends but Remus will always be her ride or die. they like the same music (partially because he introduced her to more than the music she had at home which was virtually nothing but the old radio), they like the same clothes (she borrows Remus’s clothes sometimes despite Sev’s insistence that she’s becoming too much like him and looks like a boy), and he supports her in everything. she’s started to develop feelings for Remus and she thinks he feels the same but they both know it’s tricky territory. Sev hates Remus and the marauders, especially for what happened two years ago, the unforgettable incident when he called Lily Evans a mudblood, and Sev’s sister knows he’d be pissed if they started going out. so they’re quietly “just friends” and maybe a bit more but Sev doesn’t need to know that (he definitely knows). Sev’s sister has taken a liking to ice skating as well as roller skating, during the summer of second year Remus took her roller skating for first time and when winter came this year, she was hooked on ice skating. (i have to make a second part sorry)
