Not much tbh, but you're welcome to ask any questions, that would help me develop this AU greatly 👀

I've been mostly just thinking about tiny design details that would change for this AU. Like the amulet's color being yellow. Like Toby's fighting skills mostly relying on absorbing damage. Jim's weapon was his agility and precise strikes, while Toby's weapon is his sturdiness and plain force. Jim attacks, while Toby protects. He uses shields more often, he is more willing to take the blow. Basically a tank.

I like to think Jim and Toby's relationship didn't change at all. Jim is very happy to be there for his friend and be his support if needed. I noticed that Toby sometimes talks down on himself in the show, so I imagine he would often question if he's really up to the task. Jim would believe in him no matter what, I'm sure about that.

Jim also carries a pocket sword and often acts as a diversion in a fight, confusing the enemies which helps Toby land a final strike.

Despite the swap, I would like to keep characters' quirks as close to canon as possible. In canon, Darci is a school mascot and Toby himself figured the Mole was most likely a girl by the way they moved. Therefore in my mind, she is more graceful than Claire. While Claire does lots of acrobatic tricks when using her staff, Darci's attacks look more like dance moves. I also think unlike Claire she often gets overly excited. Just imagine her and Toby fangirling over some new cool power they unlocked for the amulet. I'm still thinking on how to make Merlin's time staff work but! what if Darci can use it to age objects and places up and down? She can turn sprouts into trees and fix the mechanisms into new and shiny versions of themselves.

Now to the Galadrigals. Both of them are smart, but Dictatious is intelligent, while Blinky is wise. This means that Dictatious is most likely to have an answer to some obscure question, for example, about locating needed magic artefact, but Blinky knows more about battle strategies and can predict his opponent's plans. In season 2 when trying to find out Killahead's bridge location, I imagine Blinky being more cunning then Dictatious. Maybe he would put on an act of a poor scared troll who's just so happy to see Dictatious finally coming to rescue him after so many years in the dark. And well... Blinky is Dictatious' little brother. Of course he would tell him to find the bridge and wait here until the trollhunter comes back.

Gumm-gumm leader Kanjigar and past trollhunter Gunmar. Well that's a task XD. Gunmar is a hot-headed character, he was remembered as a very impulsive but determined trollhunter. Kanjigar is so calm and emotionless it makes your skin crawl. You never know what's going on in his head, whether he's pleased or furious. Blinky would often feel uncertain when working with him, he would always wonder if the Skullcrasher was satisfied with him or not, until one day (cough cough season 3) he was met with a cold "I don't need your services anymore".

I think it's interesting that the ship can be seen as the anti/evil-version of Arrrrggghhhhhh x Blinky. It brings up some interesting ideas and concepts.

It started as a crackship I thought of while chatting with friends but we all agree it makes a lot of sense actually. Imo it would not be a healthy relationship at all. Season 3 Dictatious is very dependent on other trolls, not only cause of the blindness but also of how unstable his position as Gunmar's right-hand man became. Usurna saving his life one time was enough for Dictatious to trust her completely so he starts relying on her both physically and emotionally. She is the first troll to know his secret about lying to Gunmar. She's the first he comes to when Morgana speaks to him for real. She's the one who proposes working together behind Gunmar's back. For Dictatious, she's the first person he trusted in 900 years. So it's no wonder that after all that he would call for her when Gunmar was about to kill him.

Usurna's motivation is... a bit blurry to me? She seems to be on Gunmar's side from the very start but some actions contradict that. Like, destroying the bridge at the very moment gumm-gumms were about to escape. So in my mind, she just does what's best for her own good and survival, therefore not standing up for Dictatious last time to not draw Gunmar's attention to herself. She also seemed to have some kind of plan to guide Gunmar to her own path of victory but she never managed to execute it. And I think that is the scriptwriters' fault, not the character's SO what if she stuck to her plan? She could use Gunmar's closest troll (who also happens to be the smartest troll she knows) to influence his decisions. She could save him one last time and make him her own pawn. Just imagine how thankful he would be, he would literally crawl at her feet and do as whatever she pleases. Usurna would love to be practically a god in someone's eyes, I think. She could do anything she wants to him, and he would be happy to obey. Or she could fuel his trust even more with love. That's for her to decide.
