A Tailgate Meeting or Toolbox Talk, is essentially an informal safety meeting, generally conducted at the jobsite prior to beginning a shift. The term itself comes from the practice of meeting around the tailgate of a truck on the work site. These meetings are normally short in duration and meant to keept safety top of mind.

At laborSMART, we hold Tailgate Meetings in our branch offices once per week. We have a rotating list of topics and each week a different topic is selected. The meetings take less than 5 minutes and are a great way to give a safety refresher to personnel before heading out to our various worksites.

As Georgia Bulldog and Florida Gator fans pile into the EverBank Stadium in Jacksonville, FL, a lot is happening in the background to ensure a successful event. Fans come to these events for more than just a game. These games provide a sense community and commonality amongst fans who leave the game feeling like family with people who were just strangers at kick off. Beers are shared, hot dogs are consumed and souvenirs are purchased to memorialize this epic event. If it was not for the hard work of the individuals preparing to work the event, much of this would not be possible. For weeks before the game, companies prepare advertisements, sell tickets, and Labor Smart in particular, sources and interviews a variety of talent to work the stadium when game day arrives, ensuring that fans get the best experience possible. We provide cashiers, promo teams, line cooks, bartenders, traffic directors, and clean up crews that set the tone for the fans on game day. We are so thankful to our co-workers and associates for their hard work in preparation for these events.
