Hannibal is tense after coming home from a rather unsuccessful hunt. You try your best to make him whole again but your attempts remain fruitless. Until they don’t.

AIR IS ALWAYS TENSE WITH HIM. Hannibal is, without a doubt, a man to be feared. Blood stains him like a second skin and you’d be lying if you said it didn’t look good on him. "How’d it go," cautious is how you approach him. He’s tense; you can see it in the way he stands.

"How do you think?" He’s snappy with you. And if you were anyone else you’d run, and maybe you should have. Because the way he looks at you is less than loving. And if that wasn’t enough of a telling, the blood that drips from his jaw, blood that most definitely isn’t his, let’s you know that something is wrong.

Your hands are gentle when they comb though his hair, and even then he does not relent. Talking doesn’t get you far when he refuses to do so. And options run out fast. "Hannibal," He’s quiet and his stare is off to the side, but you know he’s listening; he always is.

But when you hold him against you, his body unfurls. And then you realize that oh — he misses you.

Whatever happened that day is something that he will never tell you, but that’s ok. Because Hannibal?Hannibal needs you right now. And more than ever.

Desperation clings to Hannibal harder than anything ever has before. And it takes everything in him not to devour you.

The way you caress your hands through his hair is gentle. You cradle him like he’s the most precious thing in the world. And while this does flatter him, Hannibal wants to ruin you in the best way possible. And that he does. Because Hannibal always gets what he wants.

And it’s funny how quickly things change.

Hannibal does not relent no matter how tired he gets. He plows into you again and again. And god, you can feel all of it. And the noises that fall from your lips are so sinful that he almost releases himself right then and there, but he is a gentlemen if nothing else. So he chases your release instead of his own.

Each time Hannibal ruts against you, and each time you clench around him, his anger becomes resolved. It is uncanny how quickly his hatred falls forgotten, but he supposes that’s what love does to a person.

hannibal has always been confident in who he was as a person, but when you come into the picture? fuck, he’s in a constant state of panic. because hannibal? he’s got it bad for you. so he does everything he can to keep his eating habits a secret from you.

but faith has always had a grudge against hannibal, he knows that. so it was inevitable that you’d find out. he just hoped he could’ve kept this act a little while longer because he is without a doubt in love with you.

and in the back of his head, he’s planned what he would do if you found out. he would make it quick and painless, you wouldn’t even know what happened.

but when that day finally comes he certainly doesn’t except it to go the way it does. and really? it’s funny how you figure it out. or really, how he figures you out.

truth be told, blood never looked so good on a person - is what hannibal thinks. your hands are tinged are red and you’re eating some poor unsuspecting victim like it’s your last meal and lord have mercy, hannibal just about drops dead right then and there. because WOW, not only are you a hawte, but you’re a cannibal too? for once in his life hannibal feels like the gods are on his side.

you’re startled when you first see him but when homie starts approaching you and digs in you’re like - oh. so you really bout to start eating my human without asking? manner lacking mf.

so first impressions. you hate each other lol. but then you don’t because plot. read: creative juice ran out.

anyways, once you guys finally come over your differences you become literally the most nightmarish besties. he gives you a tour of hell, might wanna bring a mini fan. you guys play pranks on other, and lesser powerful deities bc funny. nobody can stand you guys. literally everyone hates you but that ok. you’ve got each other and what more could you need?

feelings

as much as he wishes to deny it, feelings are something he’s never been good with - but to put it short? he loves you. never will he speak it. and you know what? that’s ok too. rofocale’s love language is just different. but you get that, you do.

affection

*gasp* how dare you touch him? kidding. kinda.

much like feelings, affection is something rofocale shares with you and only you. you are the only one gifted with such luxuries, carry this knowledge with a high chin.

as expected, this man is like a furnace. ever feel cold? you can literally stand next to this man and instant warmth. winter days and no longer spent shivering that’s for sure.

listen, when hannibal loves, he loves hard. and bestie? look away because things are about to go to from 0 to 100 real quick. this man does not play when it comes to you. tbh, you might feel bad for the person considering they’re about to get the ass whopping from hell. it’s literally over for them bb. they’ve basically never existed once hannibal is done with them.

but once he has a little... talk with your perpetrator - oh honey! it’s all cuddle time. your relationship is literally mean one soft for nice one. but he lets his actions do all the talking, gentle carcasses to make sure his honey is all right and once he realizes you are? doesn’t matter. he’s gonna be more protective than he ever was. best believe THAT. and I mean sure... it can get annoying, but hey! you never have to feel afraid of getting jumped bc you’ve got your own person body guard-cannibal to protect you. so is it really that bad?

how you meet

I think it’s a running idea that in all my headcanons the way you meet is always - unconventional, but I’d have to say this one is the most unlucky.

let’s say you’re taking a stroll through the woods, nature and it’s undeniable beauty has always captivated you!

and I guess you could say hannibal had that same effect. you meet him on the sunniest of days, and the circumstances are rather ironic if you think about it. yet, despite his bloody face - you find beauty in him. :)

gaits say a lot about a person and if the bulging-eye’d dead body wasn’t enough, the way his malicious eyes pierced you said that this man was not good news. but - if cannibal man bad... why seggsy? and from then on you were doomed.

his first thoughts

well, sorry to burst your bubble but after seeing you witness him do away with a dead body he automatically thinks he’s about to get a two for one deal - ( but make it murder. ) so he approaches you, but strangely enough you do not scream nor run. at first he thinks it’s shock, but then he sees that lovey-dovey look in your eyes and - he realizes that he might be the more sane out of the two. so he leaves you be, wearily.

you meet again

funnily enough, the circumstances aren’t much different. and it makes him suspicious. god, can he commit his revenge crimes in peace? no lol. it doesn’t take much for him to realize that you are in fact obsessed with him and I mean, he can’t really blame you. all things considered.

and at first, you’re like a pest to him - and why he doesn’t do away with you? that is something he himself cannot even answer. but hey, you’re not complaining. and as long as you keep your distance he’s begrudgingly, yet willing to let you lurk in the shadows.

realizing feelings

well, let’s say you two have been keeping this game up for years now. and contrary to popular belief, even cannibals have their off days. and luckily, ( though he might say unfortunately), you were there.

to put it short, you’re shy. but when you see your unofficial man in a vulnerable state of mind after all these years, clicks teeth, that just won’t do! so you do what any unstable person would and you approach him - anxiety spiking and all.

he’s off put at first, but curious nonetheless. there’s no words you just... touch him. and he folds because wow. he hasn’t felt a gentle touch in a good long time and maybe that’s why the his heart beats a little faster, but who knows?

courting begins

listen here buddy, hannibal has trust issues. so approach this beast like a tiny animal. yes, you may have given him one ☝️ rub in the past, but this is boyfriend-time. but luckily for you he’s good at observing, so yes he will most likely notice your attempts at courting him, but he’s a little shit so he will make you go through many trials of error until he’s gotten enough kicks out of watching you suffer.
