INSTANT PHOTOGRAPHY P1
It's been fun photographing the street with a fuji instax mini 40. I enjoy not having to worry about the editing process afterwards. All I have to do is to focus solely on the subject matters and things around...
2022 INTERACTIVE CALENDAR
Paper: uncoated inkjet paper
Size: 12in x 14.5 in
Biding type: perfect bound vertical
This is another personal project I started for family and friends.
I thought of making a multifunction calendar; a printed object that isn't just to tear off every month. The idea of scattered pieces of puzzles lit up as I was thinking about one of my childhood's favorite passing time activities. The act of collecting a piece of puzzle when a month passes is equally exciting as assembling the images together at the end of the year. The final larger image or illustration is my wish to you this year.
I know this is a lot of work for a calendar but implementing some sort of playfulness in design is what makes it fun isn't it?
EXPERIMENTAL PHOTOBOOK
Project date: 2020
Paper: newsprint
Size: 18x by 24x
Binding type: saddle stitched
For awhile now, I've been photographing visitors/spectators at museums such as MET, MoMA, and Whitey, I saw them as part of the surrounding arts; they became my subjects. This photography zine itself is a ticket into the anatomy and behaviors of people within a privileged settings.
The series actually started in 2019 while the zine was curated and printed in 2020 during my photography production elective course. The series is still going on but for the zine project, 23 photographs are selected for printing.
Being a graphic design major with an intended focus on print and production, I spent a lot of time on thinking about how to use the medium beyond just a container or media. There were multiple ideas but at the end of the process, camouflaging the zine as a general admission ticket, this design gesture added something interesting to the experience of flipping through the zine.
QR CODE CHRISTMAS CARD
Project date: 2021
Part of my personal works are designing for people around me and I take it playfully serious.
This is a Christmas & New Year card that was designed a little after New York City reopened. As people were being cautious with physical interactions, the use of QR code became prevalent and safe. It prompted the idea of making digital card. The fun part was figuring how to animate fireworks, my old mac crash a couple time. Though the result was exactly what I hoped for.
Thank you for being part of my early 20s and showered me with warm hugs and good life advices!

-ing
Project Date: 2020
-ing is a pop up gallery led by three kids from Pratt Institutes. Despite having different majors and interests, the group shared the same passion in showcasing their works as well as other fellow designers/artist's works. The goal is to allow fellow, local, and upcoming artists to present and commercialize theirs works.
Taking advantage of their rental place, a 3 days pop up gallery was put together less than a week with the help of two other friends. This occurred a few month after the New York City reopened. The pop up went better than the group expected, people from the neighborhood stopped by as well as their friends.
