Word count: 400 maybe idk
info: this is my first fic so donât expect it to be good lol English is not my first language so bare with me,send me asks and recommendations!
Hoshi was not your average guy. His charm was undeniable, his smile was infectious, and his seemingly innocent nature made him an innocent favourite among his peers. However behind that bubble exterior, was a secret, deadly life.
Y/n was an enigma to Hoshi. She was kind-hearted, funny, and oblivious to his double life. Or so he thought unbeknownst to him, y/n was hiding secrets of her own.
Their daily life was a strange dance of normality and secrecy. Hoshi would leave late at night, his eyes losing their warm twinkle and replaced with a cold, steely resolve. He would return before dawn, the softness back in his eyes ,and y/n would be none the wiser. it was a pattern, a routine he had perfected over time. But what y/n did not know was that Hoshi was just not stepping out for a late-night job, he was carrying out missions as an assassin, a cold-blooded killer.
He meticulously planned each mission with his team, leaving no room for error. His targets never saw him coming and he left no trace behind. But behind his murderous deeds, Hoshi held a secret, he was in love with y/n. He loved her laughter, her kindness and the way her eyes sparked as she spoke about her dreams, He loved her but he knew he could never tell her the truth.
Just like Hoshi, y/n was also an assassin and her next target was none other than Hoshi himself. The irony of the situation was not lost on her.Overtime, y/n found her self growing attached to Hoshi. The lines between her professional life and personal feelings started to blur.Hoshi, too was struggling with his feelings for her, he was an assassin, he wasnât supposed to feel love or affection. But y/n was different. Their lives were always hit and miss, there were times where they almost discovered each others secrets, but somehow they always managed to maintain their facades.
Until one day , y/n received the confirmation of her mission. The time has come, despite her professionalism, y/n found herself hesitating. She questioned whether she could really go through with it, she had fallen for her target.
On the other hand, hoshi was unaware of the storm brewing. He continued his life as usual, all the while hiding his feelings for y/n. The day of the mission came, Y/n was ready to carry out her task but as she looked at Hoshi her resolve started to waver. In the end she couldnât do it, she couldnât kill the man who she loved.âhosh I want to tell you something,âshe spoke calmly âgo on y/n,â he answered her while chopping up some vegetables for dinner. âI like you..wait no i love you soonyoung.ây/nâs confidence wavered, she looked down.Hoshi on the other hand was stunned, smirking he walked up to her and tilted her head to himâwhat makes you think I donât like you back baby?â He whispered inching closer to her face.âwait I have something to confess,â he looked at her, softening his gaze.â Iâm an assassin,â Hoshi laughed at her face and hugged her âbaby donât worry me too!â He giggled, confusion arose on her face.âY/n you know I knew you had the mission to kill me?â Hoshi said to her, Y/n tightened her hold on hoshi âhow?â She whined, âyouâre not so slick with it my loveâ he singsonged.
At the dinner table, they ate their dinner reminiscing their assassin life, âwell what now?â Y/n asked âwellâ hoshi replied. All of a sudden hoshi picked y/n up and carried her, she yelped out of fear âHOSHI PUT ME DOWN RIGHT NOW!â She smacked his back knowing that wouldnât stop him, hoshi softly throws y/n on the bed âIâll eat youâ he looked at her with his gaze darkening.

Me, a fanfic reader who can survive off nothing but just words and day dreams herself to sleep:
Between the sweltering heat of off-season Goa, a vengeful cursed spirit collecting deaths and madness like some grotesque pastime, your perpetually panicked handler trying to moral-police you with all the grace of a traffic warden, and the very man for whom youâre suffering through this circusâgrinning, teasing, and holding your heart like itâs the most precious entertaining thing heâs ever ownedâ
You donât know how this trip to the Pearl of the Orient will turn out.
But you do know this: love him, sigh at him, whateverâwhen Gojoâs by your side, itâs bound to be the kind of unforgettable that lingers for a lifetime.

July is not the month to visit Goa.Â
One glance at your phone confirms what your skin already knows: the temperature is a sweltering 32°C, the humidity is a suffocating 78%, and the wind is barely a whisperâif itâs there at all. Youâve been cloistered away in your clan estate for so long that even the light-by-Goa-standards off-season bustle outside Dabolim Airport feels overwhelming. Too many people, too many cursed signatures, too many voicesâit makes your head throb. You want to curl into yourself, find a quiet corner somewhere, even if that âsomewhereâ is just a stretch of pavement.Â
Still, despite the ache building behind your eyes, you canât deny this: Goa is breathtaking.Â
The sun hangs low over the Arabian Sea, bleeding molten gold into the endless blue of the sky and water. The streetsâcobbled, colourful, loudâstretch before you like a living mural. Scooters zoom past close enough to ruffle your clothes. Dogs bark lazily from under sun-scorched auto-rickshaws. The buildings are colonial bones draped in fading Portuguese reds and blues, their paint peeling like old stories left too long under sun and monsoon.Â
But none of thatânone of itâmakes your breath catch like the man walking five steps ahead of you, sipping coconut water like heâs on a honeymoon instead of a mission.Â
Gojo Satoru.Â
Six-foot-something of casually cocky perfection, wearing a breezy white shirt and linen pants rolled at the ankles. His blindfold is on vacationâreplaced by a pair of designer sunglasses you know are completely blacked-out. He runs a hand through his already tousled hair, ruffling the slightly-too-long strands. His posture is too graceful for someone who insists he âdoesnât believe in posture.âÂ
Youâve been around him all your life, and still, he makes your heart stumble behind your ribs.Â
Even now, as your suitcase rattles across a cracked sidewalk and sweat gathers at your back from the coastal air, your awareness of him is painfully sharp. The space he occupies without trying. The quiet magnetism he exudes while checking the map on his phone. The lazy wave he tosses towards a group of women who are whispering shamelessly about himâgiggles high-pitched and grating.Â
You donât blame them. Not really.Â
Itâs just that you want to turn, glare, and yell: Donât ogle another womanâs man, you vultures. Heâs mine. He always has been.Â
But you donât.Â
Youâve never needed to. Youâre promised to each other anywayâan old arrangement between his clan and yours, drafted long before either of you lost your baby teeth. Heâs never protested. Youâve never thought to.Â
Youâve only ever loved himâmaybe even before you knew what that four-letter word really meant.Â
And yet⌠sometimes, it still feels like youâre chasing his shadow.Â
Even now.Â
Especially now.Â
âââââ ââ ââ â âââââ
âGojo,â you call out, a little breathless as you finally catch up to his long-legged stride outside the car rental shop, dragging your suitcase behind you. If he notices the shift in what you just called himâthe switch from your usual, more personal way of addressing himâhe doesnât comment. Just raises a brow in that infuriatingly casual way of his.Â
You ignore it, looking up at him with what you hope is a glare. It ends up more of a pout. You suppose you can never stay truly mad at a sunburst, can you?Â
âYou said this would be mild weather.âÂ
Pushing his sunglasses up onto his head, he turns to you with a grinâ bright, blinding, and frankly sinful. âThis is mild,â he says, with mock innocence, âYou should see Rajasthan in April. Compared to that, this is coconut-sipping, beach-walking, ghost-hunting weather.âÂ
Ah. Ghost hunting.Â
Right. That.Â
Youâd nearly forgotten. But now that heâs mentioned it, your thoughts flicker back to the file tucked inside your backpackâthe one about the curse.Â
Itâs old. Anchored. Stubborn to the point of terrifying. It has festered for centuries inside a crumbling colonial villa in Fontainhas. The locals donât go near it. Not even the stray dogs wander past its gates. The last two sorcerers sent to handle it came back... wrong. One doesnât speak anymore. The other wonât leave his house and refuses to explain why.Â
Your team had been dispatched because Gojo doesnât flinch at ancient horror. Youâve never been the type to walk away from fear. And Ijichiâwell. Â
You're still trying to figure that part out. Bureaucratic reasons, probably.Â
Speaking ofâÂ
You turn just in time to see Ijichi enter the rental shop, clutching his folder like itâs a holy relic, dressed in a full suit despite the 78% humidity.Â
You feel bad for him.Â
Correction: almost bad. The sympathy evaporates when he glances your wayâspecifically at you standing maybe a bit too close to Gojoâand his frown deepens into something so dark, you half-expect a cursed spirit to crawl out of it.Â
âWhat?â you ask, frowning back instinctively.Â
âNothing, Miss,â he says stiffly, adjusting his glasses. He walks past without another glanceâbut not before muttering under his breath something suspiciously like âimproper conduct on missions.âÂ
Youâve been wondering if the guy simply disliked you.Â
Now, youâre pretty sure he outright despises you.Â
You glance at Gojo, whoâs watching Ijichiâs retreat with barely concealed amusement.Â
âIjichiâs been glaring at me since Haneda,â you murmur, âIs it the heat? Am I dressed wrong? Did I say something? Whatâs his deal?âÂ
Gojo shrugs, like the matter is hardly worth the effort. âHe thinks youâre here to ruin my life.âÂ
You blink. â...What?âÂ
âHeâs convinced youâre, yâknow...â Gojo draws the words out; his grin turns positively feline, âTrying to seduce me.âÂ
You choke on a breath. âIâWhat?âÂ
âHeâs worried about my moral standing.âÂ
You stare at him. Then deadpan, âYou barely have one.âÂ
âNot untrue,â he sing-songs, tossing you the keys to the rental.Â
You toss them back immediately. Youâre not in the mood to drive.Â
He catches them effortlessly, and thatâs all he offers before he turns and saunters towards the car, expectingâof courseâthat youâll follow.Â
Which, of course, you do.Â
As always.Â
âââââ ââ ââ â âââââ
Fontainhas looks like something out of an oil painting, you think.Â
Coloursâbold and faded, warm and coolâbleed into one another like water across an artistâs canvas. Thereâs a dreamy, timeless quality to the narrow streets, as if the whole place exists a little outside of reality. But your focus doesnât linger long on its beauty. Itâs quickly pulled to the end of the quarterâwhere your destination waits.Â
The villa stands alone, past the early stirrings of the neighbourhood: vendors setting up stalls, women sweeping mango leaves into neat piles by the roadside. A high stone wall surrounds the property, its wrought-iron gates half-consumed by rust and creeping vines.Â
If you had to choose one word to describe it, it would be this: looming.Â
And even before you cross its threshold, you feel itâthat energy, thick and unsettling. It hums beneath your skin like static. Like something watching. The open, salty air of the coast turns sluggish and heavy around you, dense with the scent of rot and something faintly floral beneath it, like wilted roses. Wind chimes tinkle faintly in the distance, though thereâs no breeze to stir them.Â
You stop at the gate.Â
Gojo stills beside you, the back of his hand brushing lightly against yours.Â
âYou ready?â he asks, voice low.Â
You glance up at him, grin tugging at your lips. âIâve been ready since Tokyo, Gojo.âÂ
He watches you for a moment, gaze searching. Then he smiles. Not the usual wide, cocky grinâthe one made for crowds and chaos. This smile is smaller. Quieter. But proud. Protective.Â
You try not to notice the way it makes your stomach flutter.Â
âââââ ââ ââ â âââââ
Itâs worse inside.Â
You canât say exactly howâthereâs no one thing you can point to. Everything just feels... wrong.Â
The silence clings, wet and suffocating. Paint curls off the walls in brittle strips. Mold blooms in the corners like spreading bruises. The white sheets draped over the furniture rise and fall with every breath you takeâas if the house itself is breathing with you. The walls feel like theyâre leaning in if you look too long. And if you listen too closely... youâre almost sure you can hear someone sobbing.Â
The cursed spirit is here.Â
And itâs not hiding.Â
Itâs waiting.Â
Your cursed energy prickles beneath your skin, warning youâthrumming sharp and electric. It settles for just a beat when Gojo lightly touches your back, his palm warm through the fabric of your shirt.Â
âUpstairs,â he mouths.Â
You nod.Â
The three of you move slowlyâcarefullyâthrough the dark, winding hallway, past the staircase, and up towards the master bedroom. Thatâs where the energy pulses thickest, foulest. Behind you, Ijichi clings to the banister like itâs the only thing keeping him alive.Â
You bite back a snort, refocusing as you reach the top of the stairs. A line from the file flashes through your mindâand something sharp twists in your chest.Â
âShe was a wife,â you say quietly, just loud enough for Gojo to hear, âBefore she turned. Lost her husband to war. Her kids to sickness. People say her body left the house, but her soul never did.âÂ
Gojo glances at you, puzzledâbut before you can ask why, he pushes open the bedroom door.Â
And there she is.Â
Or whatâs left of her.Â
A shadow in a black dress and a gauzy veil, standing perfectly still. Her arms dangle limply at her sides. Her face is hiddenâuntil she turns.Â
And thenâÂ
Her jaw is unhinged, torn wide and wrong, her cheeks split like cracked porcelain. Her eyes are gone. Only two empty sockets remain, from which something black and thick weeps, like tar or blood thatâs forgotten how to die.Â
She screams.Â
Mirrors shatter. The floor groans and trembles beneath you.Â
Gojo moves instantly, stepping in front of youâprotective, instinctual. But the spirit doesnât lunge at you. Or him.Â
She lunges at Ijichi.Â
And thatâs when you and Gojo erupt into action.Â
He grabs Ijichi by the collar, yanking him backward just as you fire a burst of cursed energy. The hit lands squarelyâher head jerks back violently, but she recovers fast. Too fast. She twists midair, limbs elongating like shadows dipped in oil, arms lashing out in impossible angles. One slashes past your cheekâtoo close. You ready another attack, gathering cursed energy in your palmsâwhen you see it.Â
Gojo vanishes.Â
And reappears behind her.Â
She senses itâbegins to turnâbut he doesnât give her the chance. Â
He lifts one hand. No words. No warning. Just a silent, flawless pulse of violet light blooms in the airâsoft and beautiful, like a single drop of ink falling into still water.Â
Precise. Final. Perfect.Â
The cursed spirit explodes into a cloud of ash and screams, dissolving into nothingness.Â
âââââ ââ ââ â âââââ
Youâre not sure what you expected after the missionâbut it definitely wasnât this.Â
This silence. Â
Not empty, but almost sacred.Â
Youâre standing in the courtyard now, breath coming a little too fast in the air thatâs still thickâthough no longer with rot or decay, but with smoke and dust and the aftermath of something broken finally being released. You were busy brushing debris from your clothes, until Gojo stepped in and took over. Â
Heâs in front of you now, long fingers dusting off your shoulders, slow and gentle. Then they stopâpauseâlinger.Â
You glance up.Â
Heâs looking at you. Longer than usual, you realize distantly. Watching, maybe. Or checking. Itâs hard to tell with him sometimes.Â
âYou okay?â he asks, quiet now. Almost soft.Â
âMmhm.â You nod without hesitation, managing a small smile. âTired, maybe. But yeah. Iâm okay.âÂ
He nods too, but slower. His fingers trail lightly down your arm before they finally fall away, leaving goosebumps in their wake. You step a little closer without thinking.Â
âThanks for protecting me in there,â you say, voice soft but full. The gratitude comes easilyâbecause how could it not? Youâve always seen how hard he works, how much he carries. For everyone. Â
Gojo studies you again, silent for a second longer. Thenâ Â
âAlways,â he murmurs.Â
But before the moment can settleâÂ
A cough.Â
Loud. Â
Deliberate.Â
You turn, and thereâs Ijichi. Again. Glaring. Not at Gojoâat you. As if heâs watching a slow-motion car crash and trying to decide whether to drag you from the wreckage... or just let it play out and burn out of principle.Â
You sigh.Â
Then scowlâbecause Gojoâs caught your eye and is grinning. Like this is all terribly amusing.Â
Youâre beginning to realise this trip might be longerâand significantly more chaoticâthan you planned for.Â
âââââ ââ ââ â âââââ
The car ride to the hotel is thick with more than just midday humidity.Â
It feels heavyâas though something dense has slipped into the back seat with you, breathing softly against the nape of your neck. You think itâs the remnants of the cursed spirit, still clinging to you like soot in the cracks of your skin. You can still hear her final shriek, see the gaping horror of her broken faceâand feel Gojoâs hand at the small of your back, grounding you, his fingers brushing down your arm like a tether in a world coming undone.Â
You wish he were next to you now, sharing your space like he always does, making things feel easier just by being there. Â
But he isnât.Â
Gojo sits in the passenger seat instead, reclined slightly, legs bent in a way that makes your knees ache just looking at them. He seems far too relaxed for someone who just incinerated a centuries-old curse. His hairâs damp at the ends, sticking out in unruly directions. His shirtâs rumpled, a few buttons undone at the collar, exposing the clean line of his throat and a flash of pale skin.Â
You wonder, absently, if he remembered sunscreen. He may have Infinity, sureâbut it canât shield him from every act of sun-induced idiocy.Â
You sigh softly, turning towards the window, half-heartedly watching palm trees flicker past like brushstrokes on a moving canvas.Â
Then you glance at him again anyway.Â
Every tilt of his head. Every rise and fall of his chest. The slope of his neckâthe same one you kissed once, on the night of your 21st birthday. In the backseat of his car, your fingers trembling, your heart racing, your mouths quiet and clumsy in the dark, fogging up the windows with your breath, your want.Â
Youâve been trying not to think about that night ever since you saw him outside Departures at Haneda.Â
Youâve failed. Again. And again. And again.Â
You donât even realize youâre smilingâuntil Ijichi clears his throat. Loud. Pointed.Â
Resisting the urge to thump your head against the window, you tear your gaze away from Gojoâs profile.Â
âDo you have something to say, Ijichi-san?â you ask sweetlyâtoo sweetly, sharpness nestled just beneath the syrup.Â
He flinches slightly. Then, stiffly, âNo, Miss. Not at all.âÂ
Liar.Â
His grip on the steering wheel tightens just enough for the leather to creak under his palms.Â
From the front seat, Gojo humsâlow and amusedâlike heâs doing his damnedest not to laugh.Â
âââââ ââ ââ â âââââ
The boutique hotel you're staying at looks like it was plucked straight from the pages of a slow-burn romance novel set in the tropics.Â
All ivy-draped balustrades and weathered white wood, the kind that looks like itâs survived both monsoons and wars. Stained glass windows throw patches of soft colour onto sun-warmed tiles. Brass lanterns hang from the walls and sway gently from trees. Fallen mangoes lie scattered, golden and drowsy in the heat. The scent of plumeria drifts through the open-air lobby, where ceiling fans turn lazily above carved wooden furniture.Â
At the entrance, a shallow pond glimmers quietly in the sunâ and you canât help the fond smile that tugs at your lips when you catch sight of Gojo crouched by the edge, attempting to feed the fish bits of cashew brittle from the welcome basket.Â
Ijichi is the one who insists on checking in for all three of you. You know itâs partly to manage logisticsâand mostly to control the room assignments.Â
âThree single rooms,â he mutters to the receptionist, adjusting his glasses, âPreferably one across the hall.âÂ
You bite back a swearânot because you care what anyone thinks, but because Gojo is still cooing at the fish and narrating what he thinks their lives must be like. He hasnât looked that unguarded in a while, and youâre determined to soak in every second of it.Â
Eventually, though, the three of you have to head upstairs and change out of clothes that still reek faintly of soot and spirit ash.Â
Your room takes your breath away the moment you step in.Â
Spacious and high-ceilinged, washed in golden afternoon light, it opens out to a private balcony framed by flowering vines. The furniture is antiqueârichly polished wood with intricate mother-of-pearl inlayâand the air carries the scent of old sandalwood and something crisp, almost like jasmine.Â
But what makes the room even better is when you poke your head out the door, curious, and spot Gojo.Â
Heâs standing in the doorway directly opposite yours, yawning mid-step just as heâs about to shut his door. But when he catches your eye, he stops, leans into the doorframe, folds his arms, and gives you a slow, knowing smile.Â
âHi,â he drawls.Â
You try to keep your grin at bayâfail completelyâand hum back, âHi.âÂ
A few doors down, Ijichi sighs audibly.Â
âIf youâd prefer the room on the fifth floor, Gojo-san,â he offers, voice dry, âit has a view of the seaââÂ
âNo need, Ijichi,â Gojo cuts in without missing a beat, eyes still locked with yours, âPretty sure Iâve already got the best view in the whole hotel.âÂ
Ijichi exhales a far more aggrieved sigh this timeâbut you hardly hear it.Â
Youâre too busy getting lost in the aquamarine gaze fixed squarely on you.Â
Then, in a sudden flurry of mortification, you duck back into your room and shut the door. Your hand flies to your mouth, doing absolutely nothing to stifle the burst of flustered giggles that escape anyway.Â
âââââ ââ ââ â âââââ
The hotelâs restaurant is a shaded verandah that overlooks the sea, all soft breeze and rustling palms.Â
The wind flutters linen napkins and Gojoâs hair alike, and you keep catching yourselfâevery two secondsâwatching how he spoons the coconut curry onto his plate like itâs an art form. You swallow when he lifts the spoon to his lips. Almost drop your fork when he casually licks a smear of curry off his finger.Â
âYou okay there?â he asks, glancing at you sidelong.Â
You nod a little too quickly, cheeks burning, eyes darting back to your plate as you stab a poor, unsuspecting prawn with far more force than necessary.Â
Anywayâawkward fluster asideâthe food is divine.Â
Thereâs warm, fluffy poee bread, fiery xacuti that makes your eyes water in the best way, and grilled pomfret so tender it practically melts off the bone, served with paper-thin lemon slices. The rice smells faintly of cloves and cinnamon. And dessertâserradura, soft and cloudlikeâlayers of whipped cream under a topping of crumbled biscuit that looks like golden sawdust.Â
Itâs so good, you almost forget the world. Just you, the sea breeze, and your fiancĂŠ beside you.Â
Almost.Â
Until Ijichiâwho, now that you think about it, has been suspiciously quiet all lunchâclears his throat and sets his spoon down with something almost theatrical in its gravity.Â
You blink.Â
He straightens his back, napkin neatly folded, and gives you a look that somehow manages to be both respectful and judgmental at once. Only Ijichi, you think grimly, could make dessert feel like a disciplinary hearing. Â
You chance a glance at Gojo, but he seems entirely occupied with scraping the last of the serradura from the sides of his bowl.Â
Your stomach sinks. Â
Oh no. Here it comes.Â
âMay I speak with you for a moment, Miss?â Ijichi asks, already standing, gesturing towards the side patio like heâs challenging you to a duel.Â
You hesitate, flicking another look at your fiancĂŠ, hoping for backupâbut he doesnât even look up. Still, you can feel his awareness settle on you, sharp and deliberate. âDonât take too long,â he hums, voice light but edged with something unmistakable, âWeâve got a beach to visit. And a spice market to lose you in.âÂ
You sighâquietly, privatelyâand nod, standing from your chair as you follow Ijichi across the patio.Â
Reluctantly.Â
âââââ ââ ââ â âââââ
Youâve barely stepped out of view when Ijichi turns sharply, arms crossed tight across his chest.Â
âI hope you understand the gravity of what youâre doing,â he says.Â
You blink, mentally retrace your steps, then frown. âUmâeating lunch?âÂ
For a brief moment, he looks like heâs in genuine pain, the kind that comes from a headache with no known cure. Then he exhales, adjusts his glasses, and tries again, âNo. I mean with Gojo-san. You seem... quite enamoured.âÂ
You stare at him.Â
The first thought that crosses your mind is: What century does this man think weâre in to use a word like âenamouredâ? The second: a colourful curse followed by what on earth is he on about?Â
âIâm sorry,â you say slowly, âbutâare you implying Iâm in love with him?âÂ
âNo, Miss. Iâm not saying that,â he backtracks quickly, âBut I am saying you may be at risk of becoming emotionally entangled in something that will inevitably hurt you. Gojo-san is... engaged.âÂ
You nearly laugh.Â
Yes, to me, is what almost comes out.Â
But the words donât quite make it past your tongue, stopped by the quiet echo of your parentsâ advice: Donât go around advertising your engagement to the head of the Gojo clan. Youâre not sure you fully understand whyâsomething about discretion, about safety, about not inviting unnecessary scrutiny. But itâs not like theyâve ever asked you to hide the engagement. Just to be... subtle.Â
And you trust them enough to respect that.Â
So instead of answering, you blink at Ijichi, expression politely blank. âOh?âÂ
âYes,â he says, nodding solemnly, âItâs not public knowledge, of course. But itâs real. And I know he can be... captivating. But you should consider the position youâre putting him in. As well as yourself.âÂ
You pretend to consider that for five seconds. Maybe six, just to be generous.Â
âThanks for your concern,â you say eventually, trying for polite but landing somewhere closer to coolly neutral, âIâll keep your words in mind.âÂ
He bows, just slightlyâlike heâs satisfied heâs steered a wayward youth from the edge of moral ruinâand walks away.Â
You stand there a beat longer, unsure whether you want to laugh, scream, or kick a wall.Â
Maybe all three.Â
âââââ ââ ââ â âââââ
Fifteen minutes later, there's a knock at your door.Â
You open it to find Gojo leaning casually against the frame. Heâs changed out of the loungewear from lunch, now wearing a loose navy shirt and beige linen pants. His sunglasses dangle from the neckline, and thereâs that familiar mischievous spark in his eyesâthe one that always means trouble.Â
Crossing your arms, you give him a grimace.Â
âIjichi thinks Iâm some seductress trying to sabotage your engagement,â you announce flatly.Â
Gojoâs grin stretches wide, shoulders shaking with a laugh. âDidnât I tell you? Heâs absolutely convinced.âÂ
âShould we tell him the truth?âÂ
âPlease donât,â he says, shaking his head with mock seriousness, even as his grin grows, âThis is way more fun.âÂ
Your grimace deepens into a scowl, only now fully realizing: âYouâre enjoying this.âÂ
âIâm enjoying you,â he corrects smoothly.Â
The ease of the line makes your breath catchâjust a little. You glance down at your flip-flops, trying to hide the flush creeping into your cheeks, huffing under your breath. âYouâre impossible.âÂ
âAnd yet,â he says, extending his hand towards you, palm up, âyouâre still coming sightseeing with me.âÂ
You hesitate, just for showâfor about two heartbeats.Â
Then, with a sigh that doesn't even try to sound convincing, you slip your hand into his.Â
âI guess I am.âÂ
âââââ ââ ââ â âââââ
Goa in the late afternoon unfurls before you like a dream spun from sunlight and sea breeze.Â
The taxi winds along narrow roads flanked by swaying palm trees, their shadows stretching long across the sun-dappled asphalt. You pass sleepy little houses painted in faded pastelsâmango yellow, coral pink, soft azureâbalconies tangled with bougainvillea and blooming frangipani. The scent in the air shifts as you go: sometimes earthy, sometimes tinged with something roastedâfirewood, maybe spicesâbut mostly, it smells of salt and sea and something endlessly warm.Â
Gojo sits beside you in the backseat this time, sprawled in that way only he can manageâlazy and completely at ease. His sunglasses hide his eyes, but every so often, you catch his head tilt towards you, subtle and brief. You tell yourselfâperhaps foolishlyâthat heâs making sure youâre still there. The way you often do with him. His arm rests along the back of the seat, fingers brushing the edge of your shoulder every time the car jolts or dips. You try to ignore the way your body reactsâbut each touch, no matter how subtle, sends a quiet spark through you, like a match slowly catching fire.Â
Then the driver takes a turn off the coastal road, and the Arabian Sea bursts into view.Â
You gaspâjust a little, breath catching in wonder before you can stop it.Â
Gojo hears it. âPretty, isnât it?âÂ
You glance overâjust in time to see the sunlight catch his profile, all clean lines and that maddeningly familiar half-smile.Â
âYeah,â you murmur, âvery.âÂ
He smirks. âNot talking about the sea anymore, are we?âÂ
You roll your eyesâbut then lean in, just slightly, letting your shoulder rest against his.Â
Your cheeks are warm. And not just from the heat.Â
âââââ ââ ââ â âââââ
You choose Benaulim over all the other beaches Goa has to offer for one simple reason: itâs quieter. A serene crescent of golden sand tucked away from the chaos of the tourist strip. The sea here is calm, a glassy stretch of turquoise reaching towards a sky wide and cloudlessârare for July, the taxi driver had said earlier, considering how heavy the monsoon rains usually fall this time of year.Â
Now, you and your fiancĂŠ are walking barefoot along the edge of the tide, the warm surf lapping gently at your feet and ankles. Itâs peacefulâso peaceful, in fact, that for a moment it feels like the rest of the world has hushed just for you two.Â
Until Gojo kicks a splash of water your way.Â
You gasp, hitch your dress to your knees, and retaliate immediately. He laughs, rolling up his linen pants with a mockingly serious expression before splashing you again. Whatever elegance you both began with is soon forgotten, replaced by wet hems, wild laughter, and shrieks as you chase each other up and down the shoreline like kids let loose from school.Â
When you glance over at Gojo mid-laughâhair windblown, face unguarded, boyish joy lighting up his featuresâyou feel something deep in your chest stir. Something tender. Something warm.Â
Youâre just about to say something when he suddenly pulls out his phone and points it at you.Â
âJust stand thereâdonât move,â he says, adjusting the angle slightly.Â
âWhat? Why?â you ask, instantly suspicious.Â
âIâm immortalising this moment.âÂ
Your stomach drops. ImmortalisingâÂ
âNo, âToruâ!â You move to hide your face, regretting not wearing your prettier dress, but you stop at the look he gives you over the rim of his phone.Â
âSmile, sweetness,â he murmurs, voice soft, âOr glare. Either way, itâs your face I want.âÂ
Click.Â
You let out an outraged sputter and immediately take off after him, chasing him down the beach. He laughs, full and bright, the sound carrying over the waves. And when you finally catch upâsprint colliding with stumbleâhe lets you tackle him a little too easily, the two of you collapsing onto the warm sand in a tangle of limbs and breathless laughter.Â
You end up half over him, panting, strands of your hair clinging to your cheeks. Heâs grinning up at you still, sunglasses slightly askew, looking for all the world like this is his favourite place on Earth.Â
âI missed this,â you whisper before you can stop yourself.Â
His grin fades, softens. Even behind the dark lenses, you feel his gaze settle on you, steady and sincere.Â
âMe too,â he says quietly.Â
âââââ ââ ââ â âââââ
Next, you hop into an auto-rickshaw bound for Mapusa Market, your heart thudding with quiet excitement as you weave through streets that feel aliveâtruly alive.Â
Alive with sound: vendors calling out, bikes honking, music pulsing faintly from distant speakers. Alive with colour: saris like liquid fire, fruit stands stacked with gold and crimson and green. Alive with scent: smoke and spice, salt and sweetness, and something earthy that grounds it all.Â
The market spills into every available space, stalls overflowing with pyramids of tamarind, baskets of dried red chilies, turmeric in golden mounds, cinnamon bark curled like scrolls, cardamom pods bursting with oil, and black pepper so sharp it singes the air.Â
And through it all, Gojo walks close behind you. Too close, really, his hand ghosting your lower back under the pretence of guiding you through the crowd. The touch is light, familiar, and yetâevery timeâit sends a flutter straight to your stomach.Â
At one point, he buys you a jasmine garland from an old flower-seller and threads it into your hair with careful fingers. You turn your head slightly, catching his expressionâfocused, almost soft.Â
âI should get you flowers more often,â he murmurs, stepping back to admire his handiwork.Â
You glance up at him through your lashes, smile curling on your lips. âWhy donât you, then?âÂ
He shrugs, far too casual. âIâm afraid youâll fall even more hopelessly in love with me.âÂ
You open your mouth to retort, but before you can, he lifts your hand and presses a kiss to your knuckles, his lips lingering just long enough.Â
âDangerous game, that, isnât it?â he adds, voice a whisper.Â
The words land with more weight than you expect. You turn away, suddenly busy with a rack of embroidered shawls, too flustered to speak, too aware of how right he might be.Â
By the time youâre done winding through the marketâs maze, your hands are fullâsandalwood soap, a bundle of incense, and a tiny rosewood elephant carved so finely it almost looks alive.Â
Gojo insists on one last purchaseâan anklet. âFor protection,â he says, tone playful but eyes unreadable.Â
You donât argue. You simply smile, warm and fond, as he kneels in the middle of the bustling street and fastens it around your ankle. His fingers are gentle, steady, reverent.Â
The silver jingles prettily when you walk.Â
And you canât help making it jingle just a little more when you catch him glancing down, his gaze fixed on your ankleâfollowing the sound like itâs a compass.Â
One that always, always points to you.Â
âââââ ââ ââ â âââââ
You detour into Old Goa just as the tendrils of evening begin weaving themselves through the sky.Â
The sun is already sinking behind the tall spires of the Basilica of Bom Jesus when you arrive, casting long golden shadows across the ancient stone. Thereâs a quiet hush in the air, a reverent calm that seems to settle on your shoulders the moment you step inside. You and Gojo walk together through the centuries-old corridors, where candlelight flickers gently against aged murals and the carved faces of saints stand watch from quiet altars. Every corner of the church hums with the weight of time, the kind of silence that isnât empty, but fullâof history, of memory, of prayer.Â
It takes all of a few seconds for the history nerd in you to come fully alive.Â
In a hushed voice (because you respect holy places, even if Gojo sometimes forgets), you begin pointing out the details of the Baroque architectureâthe grand arches, the gilded ornamentation, the dramatic interplay of light and shadow that defines the style.Â
âThis,â you murmur, eyes shining, âis textbook Baroque. See how heavy the decoration is? And how it draws your eye upward? Itâs completely different from Neoclassical architecture, which is more restrained and minimalââÂ
You pause to gesture delicately at a sculpted archway, only for Gojo to lean a little closer and ask, amusement tucked into his voice, âHow long were you up reading about this last night?âÂ
âThree-fifteen,â you admit without hesitation, blinking up at him, a little miffed at being interrupted. But undeterred, you press on, âAnywayâas I was saying, if you were looking at Rococo instead, you'd see softer, more playful detailing. Pastels, whimsical flourishes. Itâs lighter in tone than Baroque, almost likeââÂ
Gojo suddenly kisses you on the cheek.Â
You freeze. Gasp.Â
And immediately shrink into yourself as a few nearby tourists glance your way, clearly having noticed.Â
You whip around and glare at your fiancĂŠ, cheeks ablazeâbut the worst part is the innocent look he gives you in return. All wide-eyed sweetness, as if he hasnât just disrupted centuries of solemnity with a kiss.Â
Later, as you pause to light a candle and offer a quiet prayer, you make sure to whisper a few extra apologies on his behalf. Â
Just in case.Â
âââââ ââ ââ â âââââ
The restaurant you end up choosing for dinner isnât on any map. You stumble upon it by accidentâtucked behind a sleepy row of houses in Colva, half-hidden beneath the wide, gnarled branches of an ancient banyan tree.Â
It catches your attention immediately: the warm flicker of lanterns hanging from the canopy, casting soft golden halos over the tables below, makes the whole place feel like itâs glowing from the inside out. Itâs quiet. Unassuming. Almost magical.Â
Once seated, you slip off your sandals without hesitation, stretching and wiggling your toes with a quiet sighâyour feet aching from a day spent walking. Your dress still carries the scent of sea spray; your hair, heavy with salt and jasmine, clings softly to your neck. Across from you, Gojo lounges comfortably, sunglasses now hooked on the collar of his shirt, his white hair wind-tossed and a little messy. Â
He looks... at ease.Â
Which is rare. And precious.Â
When the waiter arrives with the menu, you order far too much without thinking twice.Â
Gojo lifts a brow, half amused, half judging.Â
âWhat?â you say defensively, âGoan food makes hunger feel romantic.âÂ
He doesn't argueâjust lifts the other brow as if to say Really?Â
âOh, please,â you add with a scoff, âAs if you arenât the biggest glutton I know.âÂ
He gaspsâmock offended. âExcuse you. I am an elite connoisseur of food.âÂ
You roll your eyes, but this time, you donât hide the smile tugging at your lips.Â
Soon, the table is crowded with steaming dishes: chicken cafreal, vivid green and bright with coriander and spice; prawn balchĂŁo, sharp and fiery with vinegar and red chili; and kingfish recheado, stuffed with spice paste and grilled over coconut husk. The aromas are dizzying.Â
âOpen,â Gojo says, holding out a forkful of fish.Â
You eye him. âYouâre not my nursemaid, âToru.âÂ
âNo,â he replies, unfazed, âIâm your fiancĂŠ.âÂ
You go still for a beat.Â
His eyes donât leave yours.Â
After a moment, you lower your gaze... then glance up againâsilent, softâand open your mouth.Â
The fish is incredibleâcharred, tangy, melting against your tongue. Your eyes flutter shut for a moment, helpless against the pleasure of the flavour.Â
When you open them again, Gojo is still watching you.Â
âI love watching you eat,â he says quietly, leaning in on his elbows, âYou donât hold back. You try to enjoy it as much as you can. Thatâs... rare.âÂ
You smile, shy despite yourself. âYour fiancĂŠe is one of a kind,â you murmur, glancing down at your plate.Â
You try the sorpotel nextâa rich, spicy pork stewâpaired with tiny sannas, soft rice cakes meant for soaking it up. Gojo tears one in half, dips it into the stew, and holds it out for you again, wordlessly.Â
You accept it gently, trying to ignore how often your eyes keep darting to his hands.Â
And you know he notices.Â
Of course, he notices.Â
âââââ ââ ââ â âââââ
Between you and Gojo, it doesnât take long for the plates to be wiped clean. Every last bite disappearsâtestament to a day full of sun, salt, and shared appetite.Â
Then comes dessert.Â
The waiter brings out bebinca, its delicate layers stacked like edible silk, served warm on a ceramic plate. Beside it, a small tumbler of feniâGoaâs infamous local spiritâglistens in the lantern light. It's clear, almost innocent-looking, but youâve heard the stories.Â
Gojo picks up his glass, swirling the liquid thoughtfully. He eyes it the way he does cursed objects heâs not quite sure he wants to mess with. You watch as he brings it to his nose, sniffs it once, then pulls back with a frown that says, absolutely not.Â
âYou donât have to,â you say, amused, âI know you hate alcohol.âÂ
âI do,â he admits, still eyeing the drink, âBut Iâm also curious. And stupid.âÂ
You smile. âA dangerous combination.âÂ
He glances up. âEver had this?âÂ
You shake your head. âNo. Iâve heard itâs... strong, though.âÂ
A slow smirk spreads across his lips. He sets his glass down and leans in slightly, his voice low but teasing, âTry it. Iâm here. Iâll catch you.âÂ
Thereâs something too intimate in the way he says itâlike the words carry more than just their surface meaning.Â
You hesitate. But only for a second.Â
Taking the glass, you raise it to your lips and sip. The taste hits immediatelyâsharp, wild, almost reckless. Like fire and fruit had an argument and made this as a truce. It burns down your throat and leaves behind something sweetly fermented and volatile. It doesnât just warm youâit ignites, lighting a fuse somewhere low in your chest. Your lips tingle. Your pulse stirs.Â
Gojo watches you closely, smirk twitching at the corners. âYou okay?â he asks, voice velvet-soft.Â
You nod, exhaling slowly. âBuzzed,â you admit, a little breathless, âbut fine.âÂ
He hums, unconvinced yet content, and thenâwithout a wordâhe leans forward.Â
With a gentleness that feels startling from someone like him, he wipes somethingâa crumb? a drop?âfrom the corner of your mouth using his thumb. But he doesnât pull away. His hand lingers, cupping your cheek. His skin is warm, the pads of his fingers slightly rough, familiar. Comforting. Dangerous.Â
And his eyesâoh, his eyesâsearch yours with something deep and quiet and serious beneath the usual mischief.Â
âStill with me?â he murmurs.Â
Barely.Â
Just barely.Â
But you nod. Somehow, you nod.Â
Your heart is loud in your ears, but your gaze never leaves his.Â
âââââ ââ ââ â âââââ
The club in Anjuna feels carved straight from the earth itselfâetched into the black rock face, wrapped in the scent of salt and surf, half-exposed to the indigo sky above. Tide pools glisten between slabs of stone just beyond the railing, and the sea below crashes in slow, rhythmic waves that seem to echo the throb of bass from within. Inside, the dance floor pulses with life. Neon lights slice through the darkâelectric blues, molten reds, searing yellows, acid greensâpainting the crowd in colours that flicker too fast to name. The music isnât just loudâitâs primal. Less a melody and more a hunger.Â
You pause just at the threshold, hand tightening in Gojoâs. Your breath catches slightly. Â
This isnât the world you were raised in. And though you came here eager, part of you balks nowâstaring at the surge of bodies, all moving in ways that feel untethered, unashamed, utterly unrestrained.Â
You glance at him.Â
Gojoâs smile is small. Gentle. He leans close so you can hear him over the music, his voice low and steady, âWe can leave if you want.âÂ
You shake your head, almost too quickly. âNo. Itâs justââ You hesitate, then look back at the crowd, then at him. Closer now, you lace your fingers tightly into his. âItâs just... youâll stay with me the whole time, right?âÂ
Thereâs something in the way he looks at you then. A flicker of emotion too complicated to nameâequal parts affection, delight, and something fiercely protective. He chuckles, soft and unbearably fond, and draws you towards him. Â
âIâm not going anywhere.âÂ
And with that, he leads you in.Â
The press of the crowd is immediate, but Gojo is solid beside youâhis hand at the small of your back, his presence cutting through the chaos like a blade. Youâre nervous, but you move anyway. You let the beat in, let it guide you. Bit by bit, his coaxing worksâeach glance, each gentle nudge, each time he mirrors your rhythm with his own until your hesitation falls away.Â
And thenâyouâre dancing.Â
At first, thereâs space between you. A polite sort of distance. But that doesnât last. Not when the music deepens, and the crowd tightens. Not when his hands slide a little lower. Not when your body, almost of its own accord, begins to answer his.Â
Soon, thereâs no space at all.Â
Your hips meet. Your chests align. You feel every movementâevery shift of muscle, every exhale against your cheek. His breath is getting shallower; yours too. One of his hands finds the curve of your back, trailing lower until it rests at your waist, fingertips splayed and possessive.Â
The DJ changes tracks. The beat shiftsâfaster now, darker, headier, almost obsceneâand you spin, your back pressing flush to Gojoâs chest.Â
Your head tips back onto his shoulder, a silent question. Gojo answers without hesitationâlips grazing your jaw, trailing downward, warm and lingering. Thenâhis teeth catch the edge of your pulse, just enough to sting, and your gasp tears unbidden from your throat. Your fingers curl tightly around the arm wrapped around you, no longer stroking but clutching.Â
His voice, when it comes, is a murmur you feel more than hear, âYouâve always done this to me.âÂ
âDone what?â you breathe, barely able to summon your voice.Â
âMade me forget how to breathe.âÂ
Six words. Simple. Soft. But they hit you harder than anything else tonight.Â
Your heart stutters.Â
You turn in his arms, unable to stop yourself. You want to see him. You need to. And when your eyes meet hisâdark behind his tinted glasses, face lit in flashes of red and blueâsomething inside you breaks open.Â
You reach beneath the hem of his shirt, your hands splayed over warm, taut skin. You glide your fingertips up, then down, letting your nails trace lightly along the line of his spine.Â
Gojo shudders, and it only spurs you on.Â
Rising onto your toes, you brush your lips along his jaw, up to his ear, then back downâpausing just shy of his mouth. Not yet kissing. Not quite. You want to kiss himâGod, do you want toâbut you want the tension more. You want to let it thrum, let it ache. A kiss would be a climax. This... this is delicious suspension.Â
You tilt your head, drag your mouth lowerâdown the column of his throatâand press just enough for your lipstick to leave a faint stain. You want the red to bloom against his pale skin, to mark him as yours.Â
And thenâÂ
He pulls back.Â
Abruptly. Sharply.Â
His pupils are blown wide. His breath rough. And thereâs no trace of a smile left on his face. Not in his lips. Not in his eyes.Â
Just want.Â
Just you.Â
âWe need to leave,â Gojo says, voice strained and ragged, âNow.âÂ
âââââ ââ ââ â âââââ
Itâs nearly one in the morning when you flag down an auto-rickshaw outside the club.Â
Gojo lets you climb in first. The seat is already too narrow for two people, but the moment he slides in beside you, it feels impossibly smallerâcrowded in the best way. His thigh brushes against yours, his shoulder pressing lightly into your side with every bump in the road. But you donât move. You donât shift your leg away when his knee nudges yours. You donât lean back when his breath stirs the loose strands of your hair. You donât mind the heat, the humidity, the faint perfume lingering in the air. If anything, it all seems to heighten something elseâsomething unspoken, something heavy with anticipation and the slow burn of want.Â
The auto winds its way through the sleeping streets of Goa. The night is rich and full: moss-covered colonial houses slip past like faded memories, shuttered shops glow quietly beneath flickering streetlamps, and a small chapel blinks into view, whitewashed and moonlit.Â
A bell tolls once as you pass.Â
You wonder if it's a warning. Or a blessing.Â
You close your eyes, leaning your head against the side bar, letting the breeze lift your hair in gentle threads. The air smells of salt, earth, and the faintest trace of him. You donât know how long you drift like thatâhalf-lulled by the hum of the engine and the rhythm of the roadâuntil something makes you open your eyes.Â
Gojoâs hand.Â
It has moved. Just slightly. It rests between you both, fingers inching closer in a slow, almost shy movement. Grazing yours.Â
You glance down. Then up.Â
And your heart gives a quiet, thunderous lurch.Â
Moonlight washes over his face, and in that soft, silvery glow, his eyesâthe exact shade of blue you love, the exact shade that once made you believe in colourâmeet yours with a look thatâs quiet and holy and aching. A gaze full of reverence and restrained hunger, tangled together so tightly they seem indivisible.Â
His pinky curls around yours.Â
He squeezes.Â
The gesture is so small. So delicate. And yet so devastatingly him.Â
Your laugh escapes before you can stop itâbreathless, giddy, a sound spun more from emotion than humour. Gojoâs lips twitch into a smile, as if heâs proud of himself for pulling that from you. You glance briefly at the driver, then shift a little closer, and your fiancĂŠ doesnât hesitate.Â
His hand slips to your thigh, the press of his fingertips not accidental. They lingerâfirm, deliberateâon the fabric of your dress. Â
This time, you donât laugh. You canât. Your smile softens, deepens into something elseâtender, electric, reverent in its own way. You place your hand over his, fingers slipping between his knuckles like they belong thereâand maybe they do. His thumb strokes your skin once, slowly, before going still beneath your palm.Â
You look at him again. Â
And he looks at you as if youâre the only thing keeping him tethered to this earth.Â
You turn away before the intensity consumes you. Â
But your hand never leaves his. His never leaves your thigh. The silence in the rickshaw grows louder than the hum of the engine. But neither of you breaks it.Â
By the time the hotel appears through the trees, youâre not sure if youâve travelled five minutes or fifty. Â
Gojo pays the driver with a quiet efficiency, glancing away from you only briefly. When he turns back, the rickshaw has already pulled away into the night, leaving the two of you alone in the stone courtyard, bathed in the low golden glow of the entrance lights.Â
He holds out his hand to youâpalm open, fingers waiting.Â
Thereâs a smile on his face now. Small. Not teasing. Not playful. Just real. Quiet and steady and sure in a way Gojo rarely allows himself to be.Â
You donât hesitate. You place your hand in his.Â
And he leads you inside. Â
Up the stairs. Â
Not to your room. Â
To his.Â
And as the door swings shut behind you, slow and silent on its hinges, you realize something with complete and utter clarityâÂ
There is nowhere else in the world youâd rather be. Â
Not now. Not ever.Â
âââââ ââ ââ â âââââ
Silence settles the moment the door clicks shut behind you, the lock turning with a soft, decisive snick.Â
Itâs quietâalmost too quiet. The kind of quiet that isnât empty, but waiting. The kind of quiet that seems to listen. Only the ceiling fan hums above, a low, lazy rhythm. Beyond the closed balcony doors, you can just make out the faint murmur of the sea, its waves kissing the shore in a lullaby cadence. The night air seeps into the roomâthick with coastal heat and the sweetness of distant plumeria, wrapping around you both like tendrils of something unnamed.Â
You stand at the centre of the room, heart fluttering beneath your ribs, wrist pulsing in time. Your skin is still flushedâstill buzzing from the music, from the warm haze of the Goan night, from the way your fiancĂŠ has been looking at you all evening like youâre the moon in his sky, the one force that controls every tide inside him.Â
Gojo says nothing at first.Â
He doesnât tease. Doesnât grin.Â
He just watches you.Â
He stands with his back to the door, hands buried in his pockets, shoulders relaxed but eyes sharpâcarving the moment into memory. His shirt is slightly wrinkled from the day, damp in places from sweat and sea mist, clinging lightly to the contours of his chest. His hair is tousled and soft at the edgesâand just beneath the hollow of his throat, you spot a faint red lipstick print. Yours. From earlier.Â
He hasnât wiped it away. Â
That does something to your heart. Something warm. Something a little foolish.Â
A smile starts to form at your lipsâbut it falters as you feel the space between you. The silence isnât empty. Itâs charged.Â
Like the hush before a storm breaks.Â
Your body knows it. Your heart does too. So does the heat curling low in your belly.Â
You take a step forwardâand the tiny chime of your anklet rings out into the quiet. The one he bought for you earlier today, from a silver vendor in Mapusa. Your gaze drops briefly, watching it catch the lamplight as you take another step. The soft jingle echoes again, and the charm sways, sparkling.Â
When you lift your eyes again, you find Gojoâs are fixed on your ankle.Â
âStill wearing it?â he says finally, his voice low and warm, like silk pulled tight over something sharper underneath.Â
âMmhm,â you hum, letting the anklet chime once more with a small movement of your foot, âIt makes me feel... pretty.âÂ
That pulls his eyes back to yours.Â
âYouâve always been pretty, dummy,â he says with a quiet huff, then adds after a beatâvoice dropping an octave, sharpening into something rawer, more reverentââBut tonight? Youâre dangerous.âÂ
The word catches on something inside you.Â
Iâm not, you want to tell him. I never have been. Itâs himâGojoâs the danger. Saying things like that so easily, so sincerely. Making you feel things you can barely name.Â
You look down, shy and smiling.Â
But the moment doesnât last.Â
Perfect moments never linger long without interruption. Â
Sure enough, a thought surfacesâuninvited, unwelcome. An old fear, born of the cold corners your heart hasnât quite cleared out yet. You try to push it away. Youâre better than this, you remind yourself. This isnât some fragile arrangement anymore. Itâs real. Itâs yours. Built by choice. His, and yours.Â
But stillâyou ask.Â
âThereâs no one else in your life, right, âToru?âÂ
Gojoâs expression shifts. His brows draw together, just for a second. Then they smooth out, and he exhales a soft laughâmore amused than offended, though you can see something thoughtful flickering in his eyes.Â
âNo,â he says gently, stepping closer, hands lifting to find your hipsâhis fingers curling into the belt loops of your dress, âThereâs no one else. Youâre the only one in my life, sweetness. Only you. Always been you.âÂ
Your throat tightens. But something inside your chest loosens at lastâuncoils, melts. Relief. Joy. Love. Youâre not sure what it is exactly. Only that it threatens to make you glow from the inside out. You step into him without thinking, arms sliding around his waist, tucking yourself close. And when he leans downâlips brushing the shell of your ear, breath warm and intimateâyou feel a shiver spark along your spine. Â
âAnd you?â he murmurs.Â
You pull back just enough to look up at him.Â
âJust you, âToru,â you whisper, âOnly you. Always been you.âÂ
He exhales through a crooked smileâpleased, smug in that unmistakably Gojo way that makes your stomach flutter.Â
âKnew it,â he says, practically purring, âYouâre so down bad for me, arenât you? Canât even look at anyone else, huh?âÂ
âYouâre insufferable,â you mutter, rolling your eyesâbut your voice is too soft, too full of affection for it to land properly. Especially not when you pull him closer and nestle into his chest with a happy little hum.Â
He chuckles, his chest rising and falling beneath your cheek. Then he draws you back just enough to tilt your chin up between two fingers. His voice, when he speaks again, is velvet-soft, dipped in fondness and just a hint of mischief.Â
âBut youâre the one blushing because of this insufferable man,â he murmurs, âSo tell meâwhoâs really worse between us, hmm?âÂ
You part your lipsâready to deliver some half-hearted retortâÂ
But he catches them with his first.Â
And in an instant, the rest of the world disappears.Â
âââââ ââ ââ â âââââ
You have no idea how much time has passed.Â
No idea how many times heâs kissed you.Â
All you know is that Gojo has been kissing youâand youâve been kissing him. Over and over again. Sometimes with your back pressed to the wall, sometimes with his back braced against the bathroom door, and sometimes right in the middle of the hallway, tangled in each other. Your arms are looped tightly around his neck. His hands grip your waist like he's afraid youâll slip through his fingers.Â
And in the rare seconds you part for breathâjust barelyâyou catch yourself wondering: where does he end, and where do you begin? Â
But the question never lasts long. Not when he leans back in, and you both fall again with the kind of hunger that only grows with every kiss.Â
But tonight, thereâs something different. Something softer.Â
Gojo is kissing you slower than youâve ever known him to.Â
Heâs never been one for patienceârestless with want, driven by instinct. Youâve felt that urgency before, seen it light up in his eyes and lace through every touch. But now⌠itâs gone. Thereâs none of that frantic energy. No rush, no tugging at clothes, no chasing the high of being close. Replaced by something deeper. Steadier. As if heâs not just kissing you, but learning you again. Or reminding himself that youâre real.Â
And you canât fault him.Â
Not when youâre doing the sameârising onto your toes to chase the heat of his mouth, letting your hands drift to the nape of his neck. Your fingers find his undercut, and when you scratch lightly, he makes a sound so low and sinful it nearly buckles your knees. You swallow it whole.Â
When he finally pulls away again, itâs only just. His breath ghosts over your lips as you begin to undo the buttons of his shirt, one by oneâslowly, carefully, even though your hands are shaking with want. Your knuckles graze warm skin as each button comes undone, as more of him is revealed. You feel his breath hitch, and thenâÂ
âAre you nervous?â he murmurs, voice just above a whisper.Â
You hesitate. Then nod, slow and small. â...A little.âÂ
He smiles at thatâsoft and breathless, almost as if he wasnât expecting to hear it. Â
âGood,â he says, brushing the tip of his nose against your cheek, then presses a kiss to the corner of your mouth, ââCause I am too.âÂ
Your eyes widen. âReally?âÂ
He lets out a breath of a laugh, quiet and honest, resting his forehead against yours. âItâs you,â he says simply, like itâs the most obvious thing in the world, âOf course, I am.âÂ
And just like that, your heart twists in the most delicate, most ridiculous way. A real smile blooms on your lips, your eyes pricking with the beginnings of tears. You blink them away as he shrugs out of his shirt, andâÂ
Time halts.Â
Maybe just for a second. Maybe longer. You canât tell.Â
Youâve touched him before. Youâve kissed every inch of him before. You know this body. But this feels different. As your hands roam across his chest and down his abdomen, marvelling at the warmth of his skin, the way his muscles shift and twitch beneath your trembling fingers, it feels like rediscoveryâlike the very first time, all over again. Like youâre being handed a moment too rare for words.Â
His shirt drops to the floor.Â
Yours follows soon after, your dress slipping over your head in a whisper-soft rustleâleaving you standing in lace and flushed skin, heart pounding in your chest.Â
Gojo swears softly under his breath. And then heâs pulling you to him with no hesitation, pressing every inch of your body flush to his. You feel all of himâsolid, warm, real. Â
âShit,â he mutters, fingers tracing your waist slowly. His gaze travels over your figure, up and down, before locking back onto your face. âThis set is new, isnât it?âÂ
âBought it last month,â you manage to say, breathless, light-headed. His hands are on your skin again, sliding higher. âDidnât know when Iâd get the chance to wear it, though.âÂ
His eyes darken at thatâburn, reallyâand a grin tugs at the corner of his mouthâmischief mingled with awe.Â
âWell,â he says, his voice thick and low, âBest thing Iâve seen all trip.âÂ
And before you can laughâor blush too hardâhe scoops you up in one smooth, effortless motionâarms strong beneath your thighs, his grip secure as he carries you towards the bed like you weigh nothing at all.Â
You let out a surprised squeak. Â
Your fiancĂŠ just smirks. Â
âTold you youâre dangerous, dummy.âÂ
âââââ ââ ââ â âââââ
The sheets are cool beneath your back, but Gojo is warmâso achingly, impossibly warmâas he lowers himself over you, both of you stripped of anything that could keep his bare skin from yours.Â
He kisses you again, slow and deep and heady, lips moving against yours with a kind of reverence that feels sacred. Then he driftsâacross your jaw, down your throat, trailing languid, open-mouthed kisses that make your breath hitch. He hasnât even touched you anywhere truly intimate yet, but still, you're trembling. Every drag of his lips feels like a spark catching kindling. A storm beginning to rise.Â
A soft hum vibrates in his chest as he presses a kiss just above your collarbone, and when he pulls back to look at you, your lips are kiss-swollen, your cheeks flushed, and your pupils blown wideâmirroring the hunger you see in his eyes. That vibrant blue, now dark and clouded, focused entirely on you.Â
âYouâre so pretty like this,â he murmurs, fingers brushing your cheek, âAlready ruinedâand I havenât even really touched you yet.âÂ
âYou are touching me, âToru,â you breathe, voice catching around a soft smile, âThatâs what ruins me.âÂ
He chuckles, and the sound is tenderâdisbelieving and entirely fond. âYou always say the sweetest things when youâre like this.âÂ
Your laugh bubbles upâlight, affectionateâbut falters the moment his mouth finds the curve of your breast. He kisses it slowly, wetly, with a teasing scrape of teeth before his lips close around your nipple. He sucks hard, drawing a broken gasp from you, while his hand finds the other breast, kneading it with rough, possessive care.Â
Your thoughts scatter. You canât hold onto a single oneânot when every touch is too much and still not enough. A litany of soft moans and breathy pleas spill from your mouth, unbidden.Â
And then his hand begins to travel lower, skimming over your stomach in an agonizingly slow descent. His lips leave your breast with a wet pop, and he looks up at youâeyes seeking yours. Always asking. Never taking. Even now.Â
You donât know what to do with that kind of gentleness. Even if you gave him the world twice over, you think it still wouldnât be enough for a man like him.Â
âCan I?â he asks softly, his voice no more than a breath.Â
You nod quickly, eagerly, without shame. Youâve never been good at hiding how much you want him. Never because itâs him.Â
âPlease,â you whisper, voice trembling with wantâand thatâs all he needs. Â
His fingers slip between your thighs. And he groans when he feels how wet you are for himâlow, rough, entirely undone. His gaze drops briefly, taking you in, before returning to your face with a dazed sort of smile. âGod, sweetness,â he murmurs, âSo readyâjust for me, huh?âÂ
You nod againâbut your answer turns into a gasp as he plunges two fingers inside you, thick and long, curling deep. His thumb brushes over your clit, sending a jolt through your spine as your hips buck into his palm.Â
He works you open slowly, steadilyâcarefullyâas though he's crafting something delicate. Your thighs begin to tremble, breath coming in shaky little pants, body straining towards his hand and his voice and his warmth.Â
ââToruââ you whimper, when his fingers find a spot that makes your whole body seize.Â
âIâm here, sweetness,â he soothes, the hand not between your thighs brushing your hair back as he leans in to press a kiss to your temple, âFeels good, doesnât it?âÂ
You nod frantically. âSo goodâplease donât stopââÂ
âNot stopping,â he murmurs, curling his fingers again, just right.Â
The heat builds sharp and sudden. Sparks shoot up your spine, behind your eyes, and a broken moan tears from your lips.Â
âYouâre close, huh?â he hums.Â
âYesââ you cry out, voice splintering as he curls his fingers again, and again. Your back arches and your fingers claw at the sheets. âYesâalmostâalmostââÂ
But thenâsomething breaks through the haze. A thought. A need.Â
And you stop him.Â
Your hand closes around his wrist, tugging gently, though the effort drags a choked sob from your throat. Â
He stills immediately, eyes snapping to yours. âToo much?â he asks, already moving to cradle you closer, concern written in every line of his face.Â
You shake your head, lips curling into a wobbly, fragile smile. Your eyes shine, too full of something tender, too soft to hold back anymore.Â
âNo, âToru,â you whisper, breathless. Your hand cups his cheek, and he leans into your touch like gravity itself is pulling him there. His own hand comes up to cover yours. The expression on his faceâso sweet, so worried, so yoursâmakes your chest ache.Â
âI justâŚâ your voice trembles, âI donât want to come like this. I want you inside me. I want to fall apart with you.âÂ
He inhales sharply.Â
And something in his gaze changesâmelts. Like every layer, every facade, every trace of swagger is stripped away. Only he remains. Just Satoru.Â
âYouâll be the death of me,â he murmurs.Â
You laugh through the tears stinging your lashes, brushing your thumb over the apple of his cheek. âPromise?âÂ
He kisses you thenâreally kisses you. Hard. Deep. Reverent. Like heâs trying to memorize the taste of your heart on your tongue.Â
Then he pulls backâonly to align himself at your entrance. The tip of his cock, flushed and leaking, brushes against you, teasing just enough to make you whine. But before you can protest, he grips your waist and pulls you closerâÂ
And pushes in.Â
Slow. Deep. Every inch of him filling you until heâs seated to the hilt, until thereâs no space left between you. The stretch pulls a cry from your throat, pleasure and pressure mingling into something incandescent. Youâre wrapped so tightly around him it feels unrealâlike maybe you were made only for this. For him.Â
He stills once heâs fully inside, chest rising and falling fast as he rests his forehead to yours. âFuck,â he breathes, lashes brushing yours, âYou feel like heaven. Real heaven.âÂ
You giggle, brushing your nose against his and pressing a soft kiss to his lips. Tears threaten again, but this time itâs from nothing but the overwhelming fact that itâs him. That itâs always been him.Â
And then he moves.Â
His rhythm is steady at firstâdeep, rolling thrusts that press you into the mattress and make your nerves light up in sequence. Your arms wind around his shoulders, then slide down his back, your nails tracing his skin until he stutters a little, thrust faltering before picking up again. His lips never stray far from yoursâpressing kisses to your mouth, your cheek, your jawâmessy, hungry, full of want.Â
âJust like that,â he pants, voice thick and raw when he hits your most sensitive spot and you lift your hips to meet him, âYouâre taking me so wellâtight, perfectâmade for me, yeah?âÂ
You moan in response, too far gone for words.Â
Then he shiftsâlifts one of your legs and hooks it around his waist, angling deeperâand stars explode behind your eyes.Â
âOh, âToruââ you cry out, arching, hands falling limp to the sheets before he captures one in his own. His grip is tight. Grounding.Â
âPleaseâso closeâIâm so closeââÂ
âI know,â he whispers, hoarse and reverent, âIâve got you. Just let go, sweetness.âÂ
His free hand finds your clit again, circling in rhythm with his thrusts, and the heat rises fastâunbearable, dizzying. You canât form words anymore, only moans, only desperate sounds.Â
And then, right as you feel yourself fall apart beneath him, the words spill out before you can stop them:Â
âI love you,â you gasp, voice broken and high, tears slipping free, âI love you, âToruâI love you so muchââÂ
He doesnât respond. Not in words.Â
But he shatters.Â
Something snaps in him the moment those words leave your lips. His pace faltersâthen turns rougher, needier, like your love has undone something inside him. He lets out a ragged moan, one hand holding yours tightly while the other wraps around your back, pulling you into him as if he canât bear any space between you.Â
And thenâyou break.Â
You come with a sharp cry, your body tightening around him, clenching hard. Your vision whites out, and the world falls away.Â
It takes only seconds before Gojo follows you. With your name falling from his lips like prayer, he buries himself deep inside you as he comes, hips stuttering, arms locking around you like heâll never let you go. He doesnât pull awayâdoesnât loosen his grip. He just stays like that, shuddering against you, breathing hard into your neck.Â
ââŚâToru?â you whisper, minutesâor maybe only heartbeatsâlater.Â
He lifts his head. And smiles.Â
A boyish, breathtaking smile. Sweet, unguardedâthe one only you ever get to see.Â
Your own smile comes unbidden, breathless and aching, your lashes still damp with unshed tears.Â
ââToru,â you say again, soft and full of adoration.Â
Gojo only grins wider and threads his fingers through your hair, then kisses you againâpressing his joy, his feelings, his everything into the shape of your lips.Â
âââââ ââ ââ â âââââ
The sun in Goa doesnât riseâit erupts.Â
Golden light spills through the cream-coloured curtains in brilliant, blazing streaks, carving the morning into the hotel room like both a promise and a warning. Your eyes, heavy with sleepâand the aftermath of a night spent catching up on the weeks life had selfishly kept you apart from your fiancĂŠâblink slowly at the soft chaos around you. Tangled sheets. Scattered clothes. Skin kissed red in places, still tingling.Â
And Gojo, impossibly warm and draped around you like he was made to fit.Â
A satisfied hum leaves your lips as you shift beneath the sheets. His palm moves lazily down the curve of your spine, a featherlight touch that makes you shiver even now. Youâre curled up together, one of your legs hitched over his hip, the other caught snugly between his. Somewhere in the mess of linens, you spot the silver of your anklet, gleaming where it fell, far from your ankle.Â
His voice is still rasped with sleep when he murmurs, âYouâre glowing.âÂ
You yawn, stretching faintly as you turn towards him. âIâm what?âÂ
âGlowing,â he repeats, smiling, slow and smug, and pulling you gently closer by the waist, âLike you got thoroughly, earth-shatteringly laid by the strongest sorcerer in the world.âÂ
You laugh, loud and delighted, even as you smack a lazy hand against his chest. Â
âYouâre disgusting.âÂ
âNot wrong, though,â he adds with a smirk into your neck, lips brushing the skin there with every syllable.Â
You groan, burying your face in the pillow as he burrows deeper into you, his arms winding tighter around your waist. But you donât push him away. If anything, you tilt your head to give him more space to cuddle into. Heâs more cat than man like thisâstretching, nuzzling, purring contentedly against your skin. You sigh and run your fingers gently down his back, trying to soothe the faint, raised lines your nails mustâve left behind.Â
For a while, thereâs only the quiet murmur of the ocean somewhere in the distance, the whisper of cotton sheets, and the sleepy cadence of your breathing syncing with his.Â
Eventually, though, the tug of your stomach wins out, and you mumble, âWe should go down for breakfast.âÂ
Gojo groans like youâve just suggested war. He clutches you even closer, anchoring you to him like he could will you into staying. âWhy go anywhere?â he complains, voice muffled against your shoulder, âWe could stay right here. Order room service. We stay naked. We keep glowing. Easy.âÂ
âBut the complimentary breakfast,â you whine, half-laughing as you struggle to pry his arms off you, âI want dosa and sambhar, and masala omelettes, and like... four cups of chai. Maybe five.âÂ
At that, he dramatically flops onto his back, tossing an arm over his eyes like a man betrayed. âCanât believe Iâm losing to tea,â he laments, âMe. Gojo Satoru. Your fiancĂŠ. The man you said you loved last night. Remember that? That very intense and emotionally significant declaration?âÂ
You bite your lip to keep from laughing, though the blush creeps up your cheeks anyway. Leaning in, you press a kiss to the sharp line of his jaw.Â
âOnly temporarily, âToru,â you murmur sweetly, âI promise Iâll make you my number one again very soon.âÂ
He cracks one eye open, then grins, his hand finding your waist and giving it a playful squeeze.Â
âYou betterâor Iâm feeding your dosa to the crows.âÂ
âââââ ââ ââ â âââââ
Surprisinglyâmiraculouslyâit takes you and Gojo only thirty minutes to get ready. Thatâs despite the wandering hands, teasing words, and more than a few stolen kisses that threatened to derail the entire process.Â
Fresh from a shower and blissfully sore, you throw on one of his white shirtsâone that drowns your frame just enough to make you feel both soft and smugâand slip into a pair of comfortable shorts. Your fiancĂŠ, ever the menace, emerges in nothing but a loose tank top and grey sweatpants, clearly having lost all regard for decency or, more likely, never possessed any to begin with. He doesnât even bother combing his hair, just struts out behind you like a man who owns the worldâand doesnât mind flashing most of his pecs and side-boob while at it.Â
You think about telling him to change. You really do. Â
But then the scent of hot dosas and spicy sambhar, buttery omelettes, and sweet chai floats up from the sunlit terrace, and your priorities shift instantly. Your stomach lets out an audible growl. Breakfast wins.Â
Youâre just about to tell Gojo somethingâprobably a declaration of love for the dosaâwhen you freeze.Â
Ijichi.Â
There he is, seated alone, under the shade of an umbrella. Hunched over his plate like itâs the last remaining fragment of sanity he ownsâand heâs guarding it with his life. You can almost see the weight of his responsibilities slumping his shoulders further, and for one wild second, you feel bad for him.Â
Then you remember what he said yesterday.Â
The unsolicited warning. The lecture. About how you should reconsider âpursuingâ Gojo because heâs already engaged. How âit wouldnât be rightâ and âfeelings canât always be acted on.â Still, considering Ijichi is the one ferrying your fiancĂŠ to missions and dealing with the endless administrative nightmares Gojo leaves in his wake, you decide itâs probably best to avoid conflict. Or, ideally, avoid Ijichi altogether.Â
So, you very slowly begin to circle to the other side of Gojo, hoping to use his taller frame like a human shield from the manâs line of sight. Maybe you can sneak by. Maybe you canâÂ
Unfortunately, Gojoâwho has never once had a subtle bone in his bodyâobliterates your plan before it can even begin.Â
âMorning, Ijichi~!â he sing-songs across the terrace, his voice ringing out like a shotgun blast in a monastery, âSleep well?âÂ
Ijichi chokes on his coffee. Literally chokes.Â
His head jerks up, eyes snapping to Gojoâs near-nude form, then flick to you, then back to Gojo. Then back to you. Back to Gojo. And again, to you.Â
And thenâyou watch it happen. Â
You see the exact moment Ijichiâs brain assembles the puzzle pieces:Â
Your oversized shirt. Gojoâs blissed-out grin. Your flushed face. Gojoâs tousled hair. Your very specific walk. Gojoâs even more specific glow.Â
Ijichi pales. Utterly, catastrophically pales. He looks as if someone just informed him the veil between worlds has torn open and you two are what emerged from the breach.Â
You offer a stiff, sheepish smile and hurry along after Gojo. Your fiancĂŠ, of course, breezes by without a care in the world, humming a chipper tune as he piles his plate high like he didnât just detonate a moral crisis ten feet behind him.Â
As you pass Ijichiâs table, you risk one final glanceâjust in time to see him sit still frozen, staring into the middle distance like heâs questioning all of his life choices. Youâre not sure if heâs about to faint, scream, or file a formal report.Â
You think, generously, that you should maybe feel bad for him.Â
But then again...Â
You try to bite back a laughâthough not very well. It slips out anyway. A giggle. No, a chuckle. No, letâs be honest: itâs a full-blown cackle.Â
Poor Ijichi. Â
May he find peace. Â
Just not today.Â
âââââ ââ ââ â âââââ
By the time you and Gojo have finished piling your plates high, your chorus of cackles is mostly under control. Mostly.Â
Your plate is a dream youâve been chasing since foreverâcrispy dosa with steaming sambhar, two kinds of chutney, and a small bowl of juicy, golden mango slices. Gojoâs plate, on the other hand, is an absolute crime scene: soft idlis, coconut chutney, andâbecause self-restraint is a myth to himâan outrageous number of croissants slathered with butter and drowning in jam. Looking at his mountain of carbs and sugar, you canât help but wonder: when youâre married and living together, what will breakfast look like? More of your spice-and-savoury heaven or his sugar-saturated paradise? You decide, absently, itâll have to be something in between.Â
Balancing the plate carefully, you turn, your mind torn between not tripping and indulging in daydreamsâof domestic mornings, Gojo hugging you from behind while you cook, doing his damnedest to distract you, just like in those cheesy romance novelsâÂ
âwhen your fiancĂŠ suddenly vanishes.Â
One moment, heâs beside you. The next, he shoves his plate into your hands and mutters something about âapple juice or watermelon juice,â before striding off into the crowd like the devilâs errand boy.Â
Thatâs when you notice it: every single table is occupied. Which means the only option is the table currently hosting one (1) morally distressed, self-righteous manager.Â
And in that moment, you understandâyour fiancĂŠ isnât just strong, heâs a tactical genius. Because, of course, he knows Ijichi wonât say a word with him present. But if heâs not? Cue the meltdown. And Gojo? Oh, Gojo is going to enjoy every second of it from the sidelines with his stupid croissants and chilled juice.Â
Suppressing a sigh, you paste on the brightest smile you can manage, and make your way to the table, balancing two plates and a growing sense of doom. You slide into the chair opposite Ijichi, careful and casual. He immediately shifts his plate closer. Then his glass of water. Like youâre carrying something contagious. You blink. Irritation pricks, sharp along your jaw, but you keep your voice sweetâyears of being the eldest scion of a jujutsu clan werenât for nothing. Â
âMorning, Ijichi-san!â you chirp.Â
âDonât,â he says immediately.Â
âDonât what?â you reply, just as quick, just as sweetly.Â
He scowls, then glances around, making sure Gojo isnât in earshot, before leaning forward. His voice drops to a whisper, urgent and fraying at the edges like a man clinging to the last thread of sanity, âYou spent the night with Gojo-san, didnât you?âÂ
You tear a piece of dosa, dip it delicately in sambhar, and pop it into your mouth. Chew. Swallow. Smile. Then hum softly, almost dreamily, âIt was a nice night.âÂ
The squeak that escapes him almost makes you lose it againâbut you smother the laugh in time. Barely. Â
âBUT I WARNED YOU YESTERDAY!â he blurts out, way too loud, before instantly clapping a hand over his mouth and scanning the terrace for Gojo again, panic practically vibrating off his frame.Â
You flick a glance towards the live kitchen where Gojo isâof courseâchatting animatedly with a chef, giving instructions like he owns the place. Your heart squeezes at the sightâbecause your fiancĂŠ doesnât even like eggs, yet here he is, fussing over an omelette just because you do. Warmth floods your chest, and you tear your eyes away before you drown in it completelyâback to the present and the man across from you, who looks at you like youâre the devil incarnate.Â
âYes, you did warn me,â you admit, voice cool but polite.Â
âI told you to keep your distance to protect Gojo-sanâs position!â he hisses, growing more frantic by the second.Â
âMmhm.â You nod, spearing a slice of mango with your fork, wondering just how much longer Gojo plans to leave you here, if you should just abandon Ijichi and join your fiancĂŠ. Your patience is hanging by a single, fraying thread.Â
âI said you were putting his engagement at risk! That this⌠this dalliance could destroy everythingââÂ
Your teeth catch your tongue, sharp and painful. Â
And thatâs the last straw. Â
Enough. Â
To hell with your parentsâ insistence on keeping this engagement discreetâyouâre done.Â
You snap.Â
âTell me, Ijichi-sanâare you the one engaged to Gojo?âÂ
He freezes mid-breath. âW-What!?â His eyes bulge. âWhâNo! Of course not! Why would you evenââÂ
âYeah, didnât think so,â you hum. You pop the mango into your mouth, then smileâsoft, sweet, and just sharp enough to cut glass. âBecause I am the one engaged to him.âÂ
Ijichi blinks. ââŚHuh?âÂ
You repeat, enunciating every word: âIâm. His. FiancĂŠe.âÂ
The silence that follows is deafening. You can almost see the world tilt under his feet.Â
ThenââYOUâRE THE ONE HEâS ENGAGED TO?!âÂ
Several heads swivel in your direction. Two waiters glance over, brows furrowed. You shush him gently, tearing another piece of dosa, smiling as though he didnât just nuke the peace of this terrace.Â
But Ijichi is unravelling fast. âIâIâve been trying to moral police Gojoâs fiancĂŠe this whole time!?âÂ
âMmhm,â you hum.Â
âI accused you of seducing him!âÂ
âYes, you did.âÂ
âI told you to stay awayâ!âÂ
âRepeatedly.â You nod solemnly, lips twitching with suppressed laughter.Â
He collapses against the back of his chair like the life has been spiritually yanked out of him. âIâm going to be cursed,â he whispers, eyes hollow.Â
âI was going to curse you,â you say honestly, and he flinches so hard his glasses nearly slide off. But then you add, magnanimous, âBut I decided not to. Donât worry. Youâll live.âÂ
âBut I scolded the strongest sorcererâs future wifeââÂ
Right on cue, Gojo finally strolls back, balancing a plate of omelette and two glasses of apple juice, wearing the smuggest grin known to man. Which means he definitely heard everything. âI see you two are bonding,â he chirps, setting the plate and juice down in front of you.Â
Ijichi stares at him like heâs Death incarnate. His voice cracks, âYou... knew.âÂ
âOf course, I knew,â Gojo deadpans. You snort into your juice. Gojo hears it and flashes you a grinâso blinding it could be classified as a weaponâbefore sliding into the chair beside you, arm slinging across the back of yours in one smooth, possessive move.Â
âNow, Ijichi,â he drawls, biting into a croissant, âhow does it feel to have been the third wheel this entire mission?âÂ
âIâIââ Ijichi sputters, then bolts to his feet, chair screeching across the floor, âI think I need to go back to my room.âÂ
âOh no, what happened?â Gojo gasps theatrically, leaning forward in fake concern. You giggle into your fork as he continues, voice syrupy with fake sincerity, âFeeling faint? Want me to get you a cold compress?âÂ
âI need a holy relic,â Ijichi mutters darklyâand all but runs.Â
As his figure disappears down the stairs, Gojo drags his chair even closer to yours, until your shoulders and thighs are flush. You melt into him without hesitation; you loop your arms around him in a sideways hug, cheek pressed to his shoulder, and nuzzle in. He laughsâa startled, delighted soundâand hugs you back tightly, before casually stealing a piece of mango off your plate. You think about scolding him, but decide against it. He can have the mango. He can have everything.Â
You burrow into him again, and this time his voice dips soft, impossibly tender, âWhatâs this about, dummy? Wanna tell me something?âÂ
Not really. But you answer anyway, thinking for a beat, then shrugging, âI was just wondering if we shouldâve told Ijichi-san sooner. Mightâve saved us half the drama.âÂ
âNah.â Gojo smirks. âWay more fun this way.âÂ
You hum in reluctant agreement. It was aggravating⌠but it was a little fun, too. The ending, at least.Â
A comfortable beat passes. You stay pressed to him, lost in the quiet thrill of knowing this ridiculous man will be yours soon. Two years, maybe less, and youâll be his wife. The thought makes your chest swell and your cheeks heat all at once, when he nudges you back to realityâholding out a forkful of omelette to your lips.Â
Wordlessly, you take it, smiling around the food. He grins back, and the world feels stupidly, unfairly perfect.Â
You rest your head against him again, eyes fluttering shut, as you soak in the taste of eggs, the salty coastal breeze, and the quiet certainty blooming in your heart: this man is yours, youâre his, and both of you love each other in all the ways that matter.Â
And when you open your eyes and lift your gaze to the viewâGoa sprawled in all its sunlit glory, sea and sand and palm trees kissing the skyâyou make a quiet decision: youâll come back here someday. No missions. No curses. No managers wringing their hands. Just you and Gojo, wedding rings on your fingersâand maybe, just maybe, a tiny replica of him (or you) nestled in his arms.Â
The thought sends a giddy little giggle bubbling up your throat, warmth spilling down your cheeks and neck. Â
Shaking your head, you decide to just live in this moment. Goa isnât running away. Neither is your fiancĂŠ. Neither are you. Youâll plan the future later.Â
You and your âToru have got the rest of your livesâno, the rest of eternityâahead of you.Â

hey just a heads up, oreo is doing this as a distraction so you won't notice the boycott on oreos and their parent company, mondelez. along with Nestle, and proctor & gamble
they're being boycotted because the harvesting of palm oil and sugar cane for their products, like oreos, kit kats, smarties, ritz, herbal essences, pantene (products being boycotted) is all harming the indigenous Melanesian communities of West Papua New Guinea. the way that these products are being harvested is straight up ecocide. the communities' rivers are poisoned. their forests are being cleared with nothing left
we NEED to care, boost the power of the Melanesian communities, speak up about it, and save their communities and this earth.

content warning: post-timeskip, established relationship, drunk!atsumu x reader, fluff, implied drinking/partying, not proofread
* . â .ᤳ
bzzzz bzzzzzz...
the sound of your phone vibrating against your nightstand, interrupting your flow of sleep. a message from your boyfriend this early in the morning?
eyes still dazed and mind still hung over from last night's wild party at suna's. blinking away the grogginess as you attempt to lock in your consciousness despite being half asleep.
gripping your phone from your nightstand that continued to vibrate in the palms of your limp hands, squinting at the bright illuminating screen.
what does atsumu want so early in the morning? you groaned out of exhaustion in your head. the first words at the top of your notifications caught your attention really got you questioning what he did.
atsumu: I'M SORRY!! I'M SO SORRY
half awake and lost, you press on the other notifications under the most recent message that read-
atsumu: DON'T GET MAD BUT...
atsumu: I ACCIDENTALLY KISSED ANOTHER PERSON LAST NIGHT AT SUNA'S PARTY i'm so sorry babe
um, what? that definitely woke you up due to the shock factor that had you spiraling for a moment as you try to recall last night's party.
the whole time you could have sworn that you were with atsumu, just barely drinking anything. okay maybe one or two, but atsumu was wasted!
thinking back, you quite literally don't even remember him being even near another girl. he's only been around his buddies the whole time as well.
coming to a conclusion when you realized, that "somebody else" atsumu's talking about was you. at some point at the party when he was totally out of it, he was bodying his limp and heavy stature on you to give you a simple peck made more complicated than needed.
Thinking about Izuku who gets a little bit older and his voice grows a bit deeper. Itâs raspy from all that screaming he did growing up. His hands are big and worn with scars and they easily dwarf your dainty little ones. He comes home with so much pent up frustration! The enemy got away and he hardly got to fight!! He still has adrenaline pumping through his veins.. all of that energy has to go somewhere. How can you deny him the outlet he needs?
So he coaxes his darling wife away from making dinner and slides you up on the counter. He fucking devours you. But heâs holding back. Heâs trying so hard to be gentle with you.. that is until you blink up at him with your big doe eyes and long wet lashes. You look towards your thighs and your cheeks go red as you beg him to manhandle you.. to treat you like a toy. You bat your lashes at him and tell him you can take it. His girl can take it.
âPlease zukuââ you whine.
He absolutely loses it. Hands all over you in an instant. He pries you thighs open and holds them there with his strong grip. His head is between your thighs and heâs eating you out like a man starved.
Heâs moaning into your pussy and you know heâs saying the nastiest shit but itâs muffled and you can hardly hear it. Midoriya is so big on praise, heâll break away just to tell you how good you are for him, how precious.. before heâs back at your cunt, lapping at your folds. He swirls his tongue around your clit, bringing two fingers up to tease your entrance. He slips his thick, calloused digits inside and hits that spongey spot you can never seem to reach on your own. He shudders when your hands find purchase in his hair. It makes him sob into you, the vibrations sending delicious shivers through your body. And when you go over the edge he doesnât stop.
âOne more fâme princess.â
But one turns into five and by the time his drooling cock is lining up with your entrance youâre twitching. But you said you could handle it. His girl CAN handle it, right? he fucks you mercilessly. Heâs gripping you for dear life, mumbling things in your ear and cursing out that villain. You paw at his chest because itâs too hot and itâs too much and heâs everywhere. Youâre so overstimulated, you canât help the tears that slide down your cheeks. Izuku notices and laps them up, focusing back in on you and holding your face gently in contrast to the harsh movements of his hips. His eyes bore into yours and you can see his desperation.
âCum with me baby. Last time. One more for me sweetheart.â
Itâs so desperate, all of it is. Your clawing at his back as he fucks you. You can feel yourself approaching your high and you know heâs close too. With a whine you pull his face into your neck and cum hard. The way your plush walls squeeze around him has him reeling. When he finishes inside he collapses beside you.
Suddenly that sweet boy you met in highschool is back with you and heâs cleaning you up and asking if your all right. He runs a bath and feeds you the dinner you made before sliding into the tub with you and taking good care of you. When you flinch as his hands hit something sore he peppers kisses all over your back and shoulders. He asks if that was too much and you lean back into him reassuring him that you enjoyed it.
Izuku wonât go out of his way to manhandle you again. But maybe if you beg again heâll give inâŚ

contents ๨ৠâ k. bakugo x teacher! fem reader. fluff. â he keeps staring. the kids notice.
In your five years of teaching, you never thought youâd see Dynamight sitting cross-legged on the daisy shaped carpet in the center of your classroom, while your kids swarm around him to paint his face.
Warmth spreads across your chest as you take it all in. Itâs quite the sight, to see the big, buff, seasoned twenty five year old pro hero letting all these tiny toddlers take turns taking clumsy swipes at his face with the colorful paints you bought for them the week before for art class.
What you donât notice is the way his eyes trail to you wherever you are in the classroom. When you move to open the windows to let the fresh air in, to wipe the chalkboard, even when youâre organizing the mess of crayons on your desk into their rightful bins.
âWhy do you keep staring at our teacher?â One of them, a little boy wearing his t-shirt backwards, curiously pipes up. Everyone else nods in agreement, theyâve been wondering the exact same thing.
âYou gonna tell her what I said when I leave later?â Katsuki raises a brow. A chorus of playful nooooâs follow him.
âWeâre gonna tell her while youâre still here!â
These little brats. Heâs barely known these kids for two hours and already he knows that they love you like a second mother, and wouldnât be letting him go so easily. Thereâs fondness in his eyes as Katsuki chuckles and leans in, and the kids eagerly lean in to hear what he has to say.
âIâm starinâ cause sheâs pretty.â
Gasps and nods of agreement spread across the carpet just as you clap your hands together, your sweet voice ringing through the classroom, to which everyone, including Katsuki with his paint bedazzled face, turns to give you their fullest attention.
âAlright my angels, letâs give Mr. Dynamight some space now okay?â
Curious little eyes glance back and forth between you and Dynamight with, when someone loudly pipes up, âMs. L/n doesnât have a boyfriend!â
âMr. Dynamight thinks youâre pretty!â
âHe stares at you like the way my brother stares at ice cream!â
âHey I was going to say that!â
Bickering ensues across the carpet and you simply gape at them as a hint of a smirk appears on Katsukiâs face.
Should we tell them after class? He mouths in your direction.
No, you mouth back, covering a giggle behind your hand at the continued chaos of your kids behind your boyfriend.
Bakugou doesnât understand it himself, but you always find your way back to his house after your first visitâasking these out-of-the-blue questions that seem to have no end to them. Itâs like a curse has befallen him, one that follows him wherever he goes.
For a moment, his eyes snap in your direction, his head tilting ever so slightly to the side, though his intense glare never once wavers. He didnât know what the hell you were getting at, and he wasnât sure if he had the strength to even want to know why you were asking about something so random.
Honestly, he should be used to it by now. But the thing is, he isnât, because sooner or later youâll be popping out of nowhere with another of your pointless questions.
âHah?â
âI asked, do you have dimples?â you repeated.
His eye twitches at the repeated question, and as much as heâd like to give you a snappy remark to get you to stop, he canât seem to come up with one. So, for the time being, he decides to humor you (and hope for the best that you drop it and move onto another topic).
âWhy the hell are you asking?â
âBecause Kaminari and I made a bet whether you have dimples or not. I went with yes, you do have themâeven if itâs a singular dimple, but Kaminari says otherwise,â you explained, tapping your finger softly against the coffee table.
He scoffs at the childish reason. âAnd what makes you think I do have one?â
âA hunch,â you said, shrugging your shoulders. âI also have just one.â You smiled, showing off your obvious singular dimple on your right cheek.
Bakugou glances at your dimple for a brief moment, eyes scanning over your face and the way that the dimple seemed to perfectly dip into the soft skin of your cheek. He almost found himself entranced for a moment, but his gaze returned to your eyes as he huffed out in mock disinterest.
He was about to dismiss your hunchâmaybe just flat-out refuse to even show youâor come up with a lie. But Bakugou Katsuki wasnât a liar.
âWhat happens if you win the bet?â
âI get 3000 yen,â you answered.
Thatâs a lot, he thought.
âI can pay you 3000 yen to shut the fuck up and stop with the useless questions.â
âThereâs no fun in that!â
He scoffs again as he leans back against the sofa, resisting the urge to roll his eyes at your stupidity. He eyed you for a moment, his head tilting to the side as he sighed. âAnd what happens if you lose the bet?â
âHe gets 3000 yen.â
Bakugou almost wanted to laugh at the fact that you were putting so much faith and money on a simple guess, but he managed to hold back on the amused expression and forced himself to remain calm and unbothered.
He leaned back a bit more, relaxing against the plush seats, letting out a mocking âtchâ before he said, âWhat if I donât show you if I have a damn dimple or not?â
âPlease? Oh my god, Bakugou. Donât do this to me now! Kaminariâs going to do a âvictory danceâ when he finds out he won by default,â you half-whined.
He was about to give you his final choice when suddenly you started whining at him. Bakugou rose an eyebrow at you, lips quirking to a frown. As idiotic as it is to him, it looks like it was quite a serious matter to you.
âTch. Whatever.â
You threw your hands to your face, groaning. âPretty please, with a cherry on top? Spare me some sympathyâand be a team player for once!â
He found himself fighting a scowl at the way you acted. It was somewhat different this time around, and it was making him feel weird. Damn it. Youâre a goddamn nuisance.
âAlright, fine. Justââ He motioned with his hand for you to come closer, an almost annoyed expression on his face. âIf you tell anyone else about this other than Dunce Face, Iâll make sure you donât ever see the next sunrise.â
âThat doesnât sound heroic at allâbut yes, of course!â you cheered. âJust a little smile, and I shall confirm the goods.â
âYeah, yeah. Shut up,â he muttered under his breath, already regretting giving into your stupid request but at the same time knowing that he would never let Kaminari win against you in all circumstances possible.
He let out a huff and hesitantly let the sides of his own lips quirk up into a half-assed attempt at a smile, but from the way it was so rigid, it looked more like a painful grimace.
You gave him a confused, somewhat flat look in return. âDude, you look like youâre about to shit yourselfâmmph! â You didnât get to finish what you were saying as Bakugouâs palms immediately squished your cheeks together to shut you up.
âOh shut it, dipshit,â Bakugou grumbled, his grip on your cheeks tightening ever so slightly as he forced you to pout your lips. âYou were asking for a smile. I give one, and you wanna give me smart ass remarks about it?â
âI didnâ even gwet toh shee anythinâ! Thatâs how bwad ith was,â you muffled out through pouty lips.
âAre you gonna keep yapping and bitching about what you asked for, or are you gonna accept my goddamn smile?â
âFine, fine!â you yielded, pushung his hands away from your face. âDo it one more time, and Iâll actually check this time.â
He narrowed his eyes, almost as if he were wondering if you were going to actually do as you said or go against it and keep making smart-ass comments. But as you yielded, he let out a sigh and decided heâd rather just get this done and over with.Â
Less hassle for him.
He repeated his âsmileâ from before, which looked more like a forced sneer, and he waited for your verdict. This was his last straw; he was going to murder you (not).
You had to hold back your laughter but failed to do so. âI really canâtâ Bakugou, please! â you mused, hitting his shoulder playfully. âYour âsmileâ reminds me of that time Kirishima had to hold the biggest shit before the bell rings.â
That caught Bakugou off guard. He remembered the memory of Kirishimaâs panicked expression and the weird waddle heâd walked around in as he desperately tried to find a bathroom made Bakugou snort under his breath.
âOh my god, youâre laughing!â you gawked. âAnd have a dimple! Just a singular one, like mine! Weâre matching.â
There it was. A singular dimple on his left cheek.
Bakugou tried to regain his lost composure and let out a scoff in an attempt to mask the slight tint of pink that reached the tip of his ears. He forced his hand onto your face, shoving you (lightly, if he may add) away from him to prevent you from getting another look at his dimple.
âItâs not a worldwide discovery, dumbass. I can fucking laugh if I want to, and itâs just a fucking indent on the cheek.â
âStill cute,â you shrugged, pulling up your phone to text Kaminari. âI need to let Kami know that I won the bet, then we celebrate with bubble teaâ my treat!â
âHey waitâ Youââ
He tried to protest against your sudden celebration, wanting to tell you that he wasnât going to let you treat him for anything. This whole damn thing started because of a stupid bet, and he doesnât really find joy in gaining something from it, but as you pulled out your phone and began to text Kaminari, he sighed and leaned back again with his arms crossed tight against his chest.
âWhatever. Youâre fucking annoying.â
âKay,â you answered. âAlso, your actual smile is pretty charming, if you ask me. Itâs different from the usual sneer you have on your face. Thatâs just my opinion, though.â
Bakugouâs face grew a bit warm at your unexpected compliment, but he quickly tried to hide it and turned his head to avert his gaze away from you. His mouth opened to reply with a snappy remark or something like that, but he found himself hesitating.
He eventually scoffed and muttered a low, âTch. Stop spouting nonsense.â
âBakugou Katsuki has a singular dimple,â you sing-songed aloud, though you knew that no one would hear since his parents werenât even home.
Bakugou felt his eyes twitch at your teasing, resisting the urge to tell you off and even going as far as to just punch your shoulder lightly. âShut the fuck up, dipshit.â
He later found out that there was no bet, and you had just made up the whole scenario to confirm your curiosity. That Bakugou Katsuki does have a dimple, a singular one at that.
Could you imagine how furious he was?
