People are trained to shoot for the thoracic cavity (the chest, belly button to shoulder blades) it has the highest chance of hitting and the highest chance of stopping a person. In a dynamic fight it is almost impossible to aim and shoot for a “non-lethal” part of the body. You shoot to save your life, not the person threatening yours. Second I put non-lethal in quotes because you seem to have forgotten about the big things in your limbs called arteries?
