Chapter 6: Fighting of Corruption
Back inside the castle, the atmosphere was completely changed. The colorful excitement of the YouTube City had faded, replaced by a heavy, cold dread that seemed to seep from the walls. The strange blue rot in the garden was creeping closer to the doors, and everyone knew they couldn't ignore the danger any longer.
SMG4 paced back and forth in the main hall, his face tight with worry. He called a meeting, gathering SMG3, Tari, Mario, and Meggy into a tight circle.
"Alright, everyone, listen up," SMG4 said, his voice serious as he looked at the group. "We need to talk about what just happened out there. SMG1 is completely panicking, his scarf is acting like a living creature, and that guy knew things about him that we don't understand."
SMG3 crossed his arms, leaning against a pillar while rubbing his neck, which was still sore from the scarf's grip. "That wasn't just a regular glitch, Four. Whatever is happening to One, it's dangerous. Did you see his eyes? They weren't normal."
Tari looked down at her cybernetic arm, which was softly whirring as she analyzed the residual data from the fight. "The energy coming off him... it felt just like the corruption in the trash bin. It's like a virus is trying to take over his code from the inside."
Meggy nodded firmly, gripping her inkblotter. "We can't just stand around yapping anymore. We need a real plan to fight this corruption before it spreads to the rest of the castle—or to SMG2."
Mario, completely missing the serious mood, waved a half-eaten plate of spaghetti in the air. "Mama mia! If the snake scarf tries to bite Mario, I'm gonna kick it into the sun!"
The crew stood together, determined to protect their friends, completely unaware of the dark entities watching them from the shadows of the code.
While the others were arguing in the main hall, Meggy noticed a faint, eerie glow slipping from under the door of the dark room down the hall. Leaving the meeting quietly, she walked toward it and pushed the door open.
Inside, the room was pitch black except for one thing. She stood frozen, staring down at the floor.
She saw the summoning circle glowing all by itself. There were no shadows talking, no monsters standing in the light, and no voices echoing in the corners. It was completely quiet, but the blue code of the circle hummed with an intense, haunting energy that flickered against the dark walls.
Just looking at it made her skin crawl. The corruption wasn't just a virus in the computer systems; it was a physical mark left behind right inside their own home, waiting for something—or someone—to trigger it again.
Before SMG4 could even answer SMG3's terrified whisper, a massive, thunderous CRASH erupted from right outside the castle walls. The entire building shook violently, nearly knocking Mario off his feet.
From the main hall, Luigi looked out the grand window to see what caused the noise, and his face instantly turned pale. He let out a piercing, blood-curdling scream of absolute terror.
Pressed right against the glass was a horrifying, swarming army of the Deep Web's monster virus, exactly like the horde shown in monster virus. Thousands of jagged, blue-and-grey mechanical beasts were tearing through the landscape. They had razor-sharp teeth lining glowing letter 'L' frames, massive unblinking eyeballs, and mechanical bodies pulsing with corrupted binary code, all beneath a massive web of dark digital strands stretching across the sky.
"MAMA MIA! THE VIRUS IS HERE! IT'S OUTSIDE THE WINDOW!" Luigi shrieked, scrambling backward on the floor in pure panic.
The corruption wasn't just hiding in the dark room anymore—the deep web virus had officially launched a full-scale invasion on the castle. The mechanical horde didn't waste any time. With a sickening crunch, the frontline of the monster virus slammed against the castle entrances. Sharp, razor-lined teeth began eating right through the heavy doors and tearing the wood apart like paper.
To make matters worse, the corruption was spreading with terrifying speed, eating its way into the structure all the way from the Bomb Cafe. The sound of splintering timber and buzzing binary code filled the air as the glitching creatures chewed through their defenses.
SMG3 stared in absolute shock, his eyes wide as he watched his favorite cafe's remnants get devoured. He let out a terrified scream, clutching his head. "NOT THE CAFE! THEY'RE EATING RIGHT THROUGH THE WALLS!"
The castle was cracking open under the weight of the swarm, and the crew was running out of places to hide. With their defenses splintering around them, Mario and Meggy jumped straight into action to fight the invading monster virus. Mario grabbed a heavy bucket of bright paint, swinging it forward and splashing it all over the front line of the horde. Right behind him, Meggy raised her splatshot, firing rapid-fire rounds of ink directly into the mechanical swarm.
As soon as the ink and paint coated the glitching creatures, a strange reaction occurred. The monster virus began to sizzle and dissolve, melting away like hot lava until the entire invading force was completely dead.
"YIIIPPEEE! Mario victory!" Mario cheered, throwing his arms in the air and celebrating the sudden win.
While the immediate danger was gone, the hallway was a total mess. SMG3 looked at the charred, melted wood leading back toward his favorite spot and slumped against the wall in pure sadness. "They totally ruined my bomb cafe..." he groaned, staring at the wreckage.
But the fear from earlier quickly returned to his eyes. Making sure the others were distracted by Mario's victory dance, SMG3 leaned back over to SMG4 and whispered urgently, "Four, we still have a huge problem. Who is that Whisper?".
SMG4 blinked, looking completely confused by the name. "Whisper? What the heck are you talking about, Three?" Smg4 confused
