I was really excited to do this one because merfolk actually have a decent sized role in the storyline of MonstroCity. Merfolk have their own naturalistic, tribal culture in which they are loyal to tradition and fear anybody who is not one of them. They generally look similar to this beautiful lady up here, with Pacific Islander inspired features, traditional tribal tattoos, stretched ears, and gills lining their necks. The merfolk often sit on rocks in the ocean and look out on the other beings on the shore, usually laughing at them. They’re a vain and selfish people, however, and a man who dares to enter their territory will be torn apart. Needless to say, MonstroCity’s beaches are not a popular tourist destination.
