of course, twitter is rallying in defense of these men; “Awful hit piece on two of the hardest working, genuine people in esports. Let’s just ignore all the positive aspects of their long careers shall we? Brilliant.” “the irony is that duncan and richard have more integrity in their own work and content than the “journalist” that decided to try to hide her own personal perceptions and opinions as a journalistic piece. this article is straight garbage with obviously no research or work done” and so on.

i think the irony is that the people replying on twitter want to ignore all the negative things about these men in favor of their positive impact on esports. it might be easy for them, but i honestly find it hard to ignore the fact that someone is openly sexist and hateful just because their content is good. (i’m talking about thorin here because he’s who i know)

i have never liked thorin and whenever he pops up on my timeline on twitter he’s fighting with someone. also, i do believe that he’s sexist and doesn’t respect women (or at least, female fans). i realize that’s subjective, but i think most people can agree that at minimum, thorin is unnecessarily abrasive to a degree that wouldn’t be accepted in any form of mainstream media.
