If the Koopalings could use weapons that aren't their wands, what would they use?
I'mma start with the easy ones, I'm going for a more military approach with the world these guys live in more reminiscent of the games so they use a lot, and I mean a LOT of weapons, but if I had to think of their go-to's without their wands (which basically do everything)...
Ludwig, while he likes to act classy, is actually pretty destructive and irritable, so he'd probably go for something like a Spiky Ball-And-Chain or a Dagger, He's smart just not with weapons, he prefers close range fighting most of the time but he's not a stranger to manning the canons in an air-ship, not a huge fan of living weapons though.
Lemmy is a VERY easy one, he likes bombs, big bombs small bombs land-mines you name it! He also uses glitter-bombs for less deadly firing, still painful if it gets in your eyes though, and a much more horrible alternative is the ones that have fiberglass in em and it just sprays everywhere and it gets in your lungs and it's TERRIBLE, he uses those a lot but not in the castle, they're less deadly for Koopa's but still risky so he doesn't friendly fire with those :P
Iggy is tricky, he's not big on most weapons and he mostly likes sicking his dogs on people, I.E. chain-chomps & Piranha-Plants, but if he had to choose he'd probably just use anything sharp he can find, and while I'm my AU everything is kinda old fashioned like medieval type stuff, if guns existed, he would use them, a LOT, he'd be very trigger-happy but with terrible aim
Morton is a bit of a pacifist, not a fan of weaponry or war, but he is also the adopted son of a Tyrannical Dictator which means he's in the Koopa-Troop and that means he's gotta fight. He typically tries to make it a fair fight and tends to steer towards hand-to-hand combat, but if he has to kill he'd rather use something quick, not exactly painless, but he wants to get it over with. Which usually means bashing their head in with a mallet or flaming them to ash, at least when he doesn't have his wand on him.
Roy is also fairly easy, he likes far-range destructive weapons, and that usually means Bullet-Bill launchers, canons, the works. He's strong enough for hand-to-hand combat but he doesn't like it, and anything that needs you to do some meticulous movements or learn a strategy other than just aim-and-fire is something he doesn't like.
Wendy also likes projectiles! She's more for Daggers and Darts though, and she also enjoys hand-to-hand combat as well but prefers it for sport rather than actual fighting, unless she has a pair of brass-knuckles on her, she goes crazy for those. A high-heel would also make a great weapon, unfortunately Koopa's don't have the anatomy for that kind of accessory in this AU so she wouldn't really have any, oh well.
Larry would also love guns if they existed here, but they don't, he definitely likes manning the canons but he doesn't get to do as much fighting as his siblings since he's like 12, he's not usually sent on combat missions so he usually gets stuck at home, he is a real big fan of the bullet-Bills and chain-chomps though, of course he's mostly a wand user but those are his other options
And uhhh yeah! I'm not doing JR in this, he doesn't really fight anyways he's like what, 7? He does play pretend-war with Larry sometimes though, they use his action figures for that :P
