"There's no thought crimes and no thought heroisms" is honestly such a good piece of life advice.
You could be having the most fucked up problematic thoughts 24/7 but if you treat people with kindness, the good you do is the only thing that matters. But if you have only the purest thoughts and all the correct beliefs, it doesn't matter one bit if you spend most of your time being an asshole to people.

When Joseph Lamont Williams refused to leave the public park where he has lived for years, he was charged with a felony. Camping bans are on
When he refused to leave the Nashville public park where he has lived for the past several years, Williams became one of a handful of homeless people in the country to be arrested and charged with a felony for camping on public property. Eleven states have passed homeless camping bans over the last four years, according to the National Homelessness Law Center. In the two years since the U.S. Supreme Court ruled that cities can ban people from sleeping and camping in public, more than 300 municipalities have joined them. Supporters of these laws say they enable public officials to enforce rules that already exist and provide incentive for unhoused people to seek shelter. But opponents call the laws cruel and say that an arrest record only makes it harder for those experiencing homelessness to secure a job or a home. The maximum penalty for felony camping in Tennessee is six years in prison. Williams pled to a lesser charge and was released from jail after nine days. "The slickest thing was asking me if I knew what I was pleading to," Williams said. "I'm just trying to plead to get out of here." [...] Williams was one of two people arrested in the park on June 28 and charged under Tennessee's no-camping law — the only one in the country to make sleeping on public property a felony. Though the law was passed in 2022, advocates for the unhoused say they have never before seen it used like this. [...]
Homelessness in Nashville has been on the rise, according to the city's Homelessness Planning Council, which in December 2025 estimated that roughly 4,300 people experience homelessness in the city, an uptick of more than 30% in less than a year. Nationally, homelessness has dipped slightly after reaching record levels in 2024. But chronic homelessness has grown, according to 2025 data from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. HUD's most recent tally of chronically homeless people in the U.S. found more than 155,000. Camping bans differ from state to state — some enable the state to level penalties against cities that refuse to enforce the ban; others make it easier for law enforcement to involuntarily commit people experiencing homelessness — but the broad strokes are the same. No camping, or sleeping, on public property. Many state legislatorshave taken inspiration, or even borrowed legislative language, from the Cicero Institute, a conservative think tank founded by tech billionaire Joe Lonsdale. Lonsdale is a co-founder of Palantir, whose data mining software has been used by local and federal law enforcement, including the CIA and U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). [...] Devon Kurtz, who oversees Cicero's homelessness and public safety policy efforts, has been a vocal critic of the longstanding program model known as Housing First, saying it is ineffective. Housing First, which has long been promoted by experts and homeless outreach workers, aims to get unhoused people into stable housing before attempting to address any other needs, such as mental illness and drug or alcohol addiction. [...]
"My hope is that no one is ever convicted under any of these camping bans," Kurtz said. "The intention is not to jail people. I've also said, however, that sometimes, at the margins, it is essential that law enforcement has the ability to jail them because it can save lives." Nashville's oldest homeless enclave, Old Tent City, was disbanded last year. The area along the Cumberland River where more than 100 people once lived is now encircled by fences and no-trespassing signs. Krinks said the encampment had been there since the 1980s. Krinks has seen more security cameras installed around public parks and benches ripped out of the ground in downtown Nashville. The no-camping felony, she said, only makes things more dire for the city's homeless community. "Punishing people and using police to address homelessness only makes the crisis worse, and it prolongs people's experience of homelessness," said Krinks, who also helped start the statewide coalition Housing for All Tennessee. "Most people I know experiencing homelessness are so hungry for freedom, for agency, for their dignity to be seen and recognized and understood. Jail erodes every aspect of a person's agency." If you ask Williams how long he's been living in the park, he'll say he doesn't think of it that way. It's not living, he says. It's a place he goes to stay because he doesn't feel like he has anywhere else. Williams has been offered a bed at a Nashville shelter. He's been approached by service providers over the years. But he doesn't trust those organizations, and doesn't want to leave the neighborhood he considers his own. Instead, he sleeps sprawled across the wooden picnic tables, heats his food up in the sun and does pullups on the monkey bars at the playground. But the park is not home. Home is the aging public housing complex just up the hill; that's where he grew up. Williams can see it from the picnic benches. No one lives there now. [...]
Last month, prosecutors charged Williams with two felony counts of camping and one misdemeanor charge of evading arrest. According to charging documents, Williams attempted to flee after police officers told him they had a warrant for his arrest. That's when he was tased. Alissa Heydari, a court-appointed attorney who represented Williams in the camping case, said the arrest "makes what is already a very difficult life situation for Mr. Williams harder and worse." Williams pled guilty to the misdemeanor charge and was sentenced to time served. Prosecutors dropped the two felony counts on the condition of his plea, Heydari said. He was released from custody on July 6, nine days after his arrest. As far as Cicero is concerned, this is the law working as it should.
Joseph Williams, 49, a chronically homeless man, was arrested on June 28 and charged with two felony counts of camping on state property after police found him living in a public park in East Nashville. He spent nine days in jail before the felony charges were dismissed by a judge. After his release, he returned to the park.

oh thank goodness
The social forces that prevent you from being able to admit to your own desires in the safety of your own mind are far more evil than any desire you could have.
Unacted desires are fundamentally neutral, and you can't decide what to do about the things you want unless you can admit to yourself what they are in the first place. Everyone has desires that would hurt other people if they acted on them, but most people would not actually go out and do anything they know would cause harm. Far more harm is done in this world by people who are trying to pretend they can't possibly want anything they think is bad than people running around going "ehehehe I love hurting people!"
Providing people with a way of exploring the dark parts of ourselves in a way that cannot hurt anyone is one of the purposes of both fiction and kink.
All of us have a hungry, horny, angry, scared animal inside ourselves. You do not need to excuse or justify what that animal wants, it simply is. You cannot escape it. Lying to yourself about the animal that you are will only give you less control over it, not more.

Ngl the actual criticism could be legitimate but if i see a post criticising an individual creator and when you look at that person's account it's ALL just long posts criticising that creator and attacking them personally like
That's no longer legit. It's at best obsessive, at worst, harassmsnt
Like esp when it's a smaller creator like an author or an artist, if the blogger in question is basically a one-man protest brigade against that person, and that person hasn't actually like. Done anything hurtful to an individual - ie like. Sexual assault, physical abuse, theft, etc
Then it's like. Cool. What's happened here is you as an individual have gotten really fixated on this creator or their work as Representative Of All Wrongs.
No amount of apology or change of behaviour from them will matter, bc you're being obsessive and parasocial.
And i won't reward that
And i certainly will not engage with it
It's good to like, aware of media and engage critically but when you're just like. Obsessed with a random person and stalking their socials and doing the "this bitch eating crackers" shtick but with beefed up media criticism language, that's NOT good
As always, remember to have hobbies and activities that are not social media, that involve friendships in meatspace where possible, that are creative or constructive in a way that satisfies you
If you find yourself fixated on someone like this, take a step back, take a breath, and redirect.
Hi MLB Fans from all over the World! 🐞
Not sure if you've heard the news by now or if it has been shared on Tumbr at all yet, but, since I've seen a ton of fans in this app, I feel like this needs to be told here as well: Rumors have been going around for a while that the ENTIRE MLB Voice Actor Cast for the Italian Dub is going to be permanently replaced from Season 7 Onwards, all of a sudden, with no valid reasoning or explaination.
The other day, a bunch of those VAs have unfortunately confirmed these rumors with a heavy heart: they've been surprised as well and they decided to speak up about this. It's happening after 11 years of incredible work at giving the characters a Voice and a Soul!! It's a wild move to suddently change the Whole Cast while the show is still running!💔
Not only ALL our beloved Main Characters 's voices are going to be replaced, but Every Side Character, Villains, Kwamis and the New Ones (introduced in s6) as well! Litterally EVERYONE!! They're changing the entire Studio that'll be in charge of dubbing the Show! (The new Studio might be the one who was in charge of dubbing the Tokyo Special, which is also when people started worrying about the main series, since every VA was different all of a sudden)
I agree sometimes change is good or maybe something happens that a VA needs to be replaced for an emergency or just them moving on, but in this case it's neither of those. It has been confirmed that this change is happening due to unknown decisions 'from above'. It's unnatural because Litterally Everyone is being forced to leave their role all of a sudden and they themselves don't know why.
It's possibly a change of greedy nature (allegedly, we still don't know the exact reasonings), since a lot of these VAs, who are getting replaced, are really some of the Best we have in Italy and they've expressed their willingness to continue dubbing these characters!❤️🩹
It's truly heartbreaking and disrespectful towards not only the Fans who grew up with these voices, but also towards these incredible Actors who have poured their heart into giving a voice to our favorite characters, have grown fond of em themselves and seen them grow as the story progressed!😔
Voice Acting is part of the Beauty of Animations, Movies, Shows and Stories of all kind, it's part of the Magic, part of the Soul of each character being brought to Life, it's a piece of the ART!! 🎨
I know nothing is going to be affected to you, since you likely watch the show in other dubs, but if they're doing it with the Italian one, who's stopping them from doing it with your dubs as well? (I've heard that apparently it already happened to the Turkish dub?!?) We need to unite and make our voices heard, to avoid this happening to this dub and any other in the future!🤲

Ok like. Imagine life without ads. You wake up, check your messages across a variety of apps, no ads. You get up and put on the tv while you prep your breakfast, no ads. Maybe you drive somewhere and switch on the radio, no ads. Maybe you drive a long distance, yet somehow, not a single billboard on your path. You pick up a newspaper or magazine to pass the time, no advertisements only articles. You turn on your game console, the home screen is just about your games, no ads to buy more. You open a streaming app, you don't pay extra for no ads, there's just no ads ever.
Think about how much of your time is spent looking at ads. "Download ublock" yeah I know, I have. But that doesn't change that the world is covered with endless advertising. Imagine never seeing that again. How much better our lives would be.

really losing my patience for any 'feminist' statement to the tune of 'we need feminism because women fill a fundamentally different and necessary role than men and will be better at doing x y or z'. like actually i think we need feminism because it is an unbearable death of the spirit by inches to exist in a world where you are not seen as a fully realized human being because of a single cultural determination, and because a world that enshrines such things creates systems that are fundamentally sick to the core
I think a fandom becomes more interesting when people are allowed to explore uncomfortable ideas instead of pretending they don't exist
the real question isn't "how is the surgeon the boy's parent when we know his father died in the car wreck" (answer: the surgeon was a woman #feminism). what we should really be asking is, "how is the surgeon?" how will this newly widowed single mother juggle her very demanding job, her son's grief (assuming he survives the surgery), and her own grief? after losing her husband so tragically, will she ever be able to open her heart to someone else and try again? how long will that take? is she fruity at all? can i have her number? the car accident wasn't my fault btw
