Welcome To The New Era…

First up is the most recent game:

With the release of the MK2 movie in a few months, I feel like I should ask this to you all:

The trailer and character posters are out!

We have the full gameplay trailer for the T-1000 and man is his gameplay looking awesome!

We get more of his gameplay, which is stemmed in his Liquid Metal shapeshifting. It’s also filled with references to Judgement Day! We also get a look at his fatal blow, which is super brutal! Madam Bo’s part of the FB is hilarious, the dreaded slipper! 🤣

Then there’s his second fatality, which is all about his shapeshifting! I mean, turning into his opponent and absolutely skewering them, brutal… and his animality is a police dog! Very thematic…

Overall, I can’t wait for next week!

We have a teaser trailer for the final guest character of Kombat Pack 2, the T-1000 from Terminator 2: Judgement Day! He’s even being voiced by the original actor, Robert Patrick! How cool is that?!

It seems like most of his gameplay mechanics stem from him being a mimetic polyalloy, also known as a liquid metal shapeshifter; he can turn into a blob and reform instantly, and can turn his arms into blades. And just like the T-800, he doesn’t show off, he’s just efficient in what he does best - termination. We even get a look at one of his fatalities, which is his truck kill from the film! And for any of you who haven’t watched it, it’s as gory as it sounds. (Poor Johnny, he’s really not getting the break he needs…)

But the biggest surprise to me and I’m guessing to the rest of the players is that we have one more Kameo joining the roster: Madam Bo herself from the story mode! For those of your who forgot, she is one of Raiden and Kung Lao’s mentors back in Fengjian, who taught them basic martial arts, runs the Teahouse and used to be a member of the Lin Kuei. She set up the entire test that proved them worthy of becoming Shaolin Monks under Liu Kang’s guidance. So if anyone deserves that last Kameo spot, it’s her.

Overall, the gameplay looks amazing and I can’t wait to see it in action on March 18th!

Unfortunately, this might be the last DLC for MK1, so fingers crossed we might get some other good news from Netherrealm Studios…

We have the official gameplay trailer for Conan the Barbarian, and it is just as brutal as I imagined for him!

His gameplay was very much focused on his sword and his brute strength, which I kinda expected given from what I’ve read about him on the wiki. There were some very interesting moves that caught my attention, like him throwing his kameo at his opponent, him deflecting projectiles and his resurrection mechanic. He’s definitely gonna be a hard one to beat, but I assume the limits and intricacies of them will be explained in the next Kombat Kast…

As for his finishers, the fatal blow was so brutal; I never knew the hilt of a sword could hurt as much as the blade… His fatality tho! Was that boiling acid?! How did it not melt his sword?! It’s a very brutal and painful easy to die, for sure! And his animality is a bull! Those horns have to hurt…

Luckily, we don’t have to wait too long because he’s available to play on Jan 21st, which is Tuesday next week! I may not know much about the character, but I bet longtime fans of him are stoked to see him! Maybe some of you could explain his story in the comments or reposts? To help me understand his intros…

We got a teaser for the next guest character of Kombat Pack 2, Conan the Barbarian!

It was pretty short, but from what I can tell, his sword is gonna be a big part of his gameplay. Me personally, I don’t know much about the character apart from that he can be brutal in combat and that he was played by Arnold Schwarzenegger, so if anyone wants to inform me on the basics of Conan, it’ll be very appreciated…

It’s hard to tell if he’s voiced by Arnie himself or if they got an impersonator, but I bet he’s gonna be fun to play. Shame we have to wait until January to play him in Early Access…

The gameplay trailer of Ghostface debuted in his Kombat Kast and I’m so hyped!

There’s not only one Ghostface, but three?! 🤯 Apparently the Ghostface from the movies recruited two from the Black Dragon! In the Kast, they called them the Enforcer and the Assassin, but my theory is they’re Kobra and Kira respectively. (Oh yeah, we going all the way back to Deception with these two)

The gameplay perfectly embodies the iconic slasher, with the sheer bloodiness and ruthlessness he’s known for. The fact that you can switch between the three Ghostfaces definitely opens up a lot of damage opportunities. That fatal blow was so brutal, I felt that in my hand!

And his fatality! Poor Johnny, he just wanted to play the game… As for the the Animality, he turns into a vulture! Fitting for a very brutal character, but I also thought he could be a murder of crows…

Overall, I’m so hyped for Ghostface’s arrival in the realms! It’s bound to be a bloody good time… 😈

We have some dialogue and gameplay for Ghostface, and it’s as bloody as we expected! As with most Scream movies, there’s always two killers and the fact that they also integrated that into his gameplay makes me so happy!

As for the clash at the start of the match, he has a tape recorder, which is so 90’s!

What’s funny is that he has Stryker, an actual cop, as a Kameo. Kinda ironic since he gets pursued by the police in the Scream films…

Soon, we might get a full gameplay trailer, but just this little nugget is getting me hyped already!

We have a teaser for the first guest character for the DLC, Ghostface! We’ve already seen one of his fatalities in a previous trailer but now we have a little bit more content! And in October AKA Halloween season…

We now know his gear is his iconic mask, notable ones being the red devil mask, a bloody mask, one with Scorpion’s OG mask, one with Tarkatan teeth and spikes, and a weathered mask, so we can expect some cool gear and skin combos…

They also showed what seemed to be his other fatality, where the victim is watching a horror movie and as they watch, Ghostface appears behind them and goes in for the kill! Honestly, a very fitting fatality for a slasher like him! I think with each character, they’ll say something unique before their end, so we can see what they really think of horror movies…

There’s even a little snippet of his victory pose, and I have to say, it’s bloody fantastic! (Pun intended)

Overall, I am so excited for his entry into the realms! I’m really looking forward to his pre fight intros, his arcade ending, his dialogue, his brutalities, animality, and his gameplay! But we have to wait so long for the release, Nov 19th… hopefully we might get a full gameplay trailer by Halloween, but it may be a bit optimistic…
