The thing is I don't just want a "Oh you can still just be friends with this character:)" shtick where it's just like vaguely acknowledged at a skin deep level. I want other characters to comment on how close you are at a platonic level. I want extra scenes written just for characters who are close. I want platonic relationships to be considered equally important as romantic ones.

I love scarlet hollow because its beautiful and thematic and feels like everyone has lives you just keep stumbling into and accidentally changing and saving and ruining without meaning to and barely comprehending the consequences of what you do until after you've done it. I also love scarlet hollow because I can tell my friends "you should play scarlet hollow, you can fuck the rot" and I won't be lying. I mean, it isnt technically sex, and the rot has complicated obsessive inhuman feelings about you that are both very protective and deeply unsettling, but given the people I'm friends with I actually think all of that is a selling point.
