The Ice Princess of the Kobayashi Clan

The recent Days were very peaceful for Gaara and his Family.

Raziela - his Wife - was already almost nine Months pregnant with their third biological Child, Shiina, and now that giving Birth could start in any Moment, Gaara did take a lot more Days off from work than usual.

When he wasn't with her, he made sure that someone was with her - either his Guard and mostly Kankuro, his Brother.

She was never alone. Gaara made sure of that.

But on this Day, almost the whole Family was Home together, except Shinki, who was at the Academy this Morning. He was their adopted Son.

When Gaara sat beside his Twins and his pregnant Wife, he took a Moment to simply absorb this Scene.

His Wife - pregnant, happy, loving and healthy.

His Twins - happy, living a happy and carefree Childhood, excited to get a younger Sibling and becoming big Brother and Sister soon.

And Gaara, who never took anything of this for granted.

He worked as the Kazekage to keep the Peace for the Village and it's Villagers. But now, sitting there and watching over his Family, he knew that he was working especially for their Peace.

His Children should never Face a Childhood like he did. His Wife should never experience loss and tragedy again. He would made sure of that.

Here and now they were simply a happy, caring, peaceful Family who was excited to meet the new Family Member soon. The little Princess Shiina.

And Gaara never took anything of that for granted.

He observed before he spoke, listened more than he interrupted, and seemed to weigh situations with a seriousness far beyond his years. There is something steady about him, something grounded, as though he understands instinctively that his actions carry consequence.

In appearance, he resembles Gaara strikingly. The same red hair, the same composed, sharp features, the same pale skin that contrasts vividly with his hair and eyes.

When he stands in stillness, when his expression turns thoughtful, the resemblance becomes almost undeniable - so much so that villagers have occasionally fallen silent for a second glance.

Raziela and Gaara left the living room quietly, the low murmur of the evening still clinging to them as they crossed the short distance into the kitchen.

The moment they reached the doorway, both of them slowed - and then stopped entirely, as if some unspoken instinct had told them not to disturb what they were seeing.

The room was softly lit, warm, alive in a way that had nothing to do with lamps or fire and everything to do with the four children gathered inside it.

Shinki was sitting quietly, arms loosely folded, listening more than he spoke, his attention sharp and protective even in rest. Jiro sat at the table beside him, calm and focused, explaining something with quiet certainty while one of the others listened. Aoi laughed and patted Shiina's hair, animated and expressive, her free hand moving as she talked, laughter flickering easily across her face. And Shiina sat close by, smaller than the others, absorbed in the moment, eyes bright as she followed every word.

They interrupted one another, teased lightly, shared space without effort - different personalities moving in a shared rhythm that felt natural, unforced.

Raziela felt her chest tighten, not with pain, but with something full and aching in the best possible way. Without thinking, her hand came to rest over her stomach, fingers splayed protectively.

“Look at them,” she whispered, barely louder than a breath. “They don’t even realize how perfect this moment is.”

Gaara’s gaze never left the children. “They don’t need to,” he replied quietly. “That means they feel safe.”

She swallowed, emotion threading her voice. “There were so many times I thought I wouldn’t have this. That it wasn’t meant for me.”

“They chose each other,” Gaara said. “Just like we did."

Her fingers pressed a little more firmly against her belly, a gesture both tender and instinctive. “And he’s already part of this too,” she said quietly. “Even now.”

Gaara followed the movement, his expression gentle, certain. “Shouta will never know a world without this family,” he said. “Without siblings. Without a home.”

Raziela leaned into him slightly, her shoulder resting against his arm, grounding herself in his presence.

"I’m grateful,” she whispered. “For all of it. Even the hard parts.”

Gaara inclined his head, just enough for their temples to nearly touch.

“So am I,” he answered.

They stayed there for a long moment, unnoticed, unmoving - two parents standing in the threshold between rooms, watching the life they had built laugh and breathe and exist without fear. In that quiet space, with the sound of their children filling the kitchen and a fifth heartbeat growing beneath Raziela’s heart, gratitude settled between them like something sacred, steady, and enduring.

The period of Boruto: Two Blue Vortex marked one of the most devastating chapters in the lives of Gaara and Raziela’s family, especially for their children. Everything that had once been stable and safe was torn away in rapid succession.

When Shinki was turned into a tree, the family lost more than a son and brother - they lost their quiet guardian, the one who had always stood watch in the background, protecting without asking for recognition.

Not long after, almost at the same time, Gaara himself was sealed away and fell into a coma, leaving an unbearable void behind.

In a matter of moments, the children lost both their father and their eldest brother, the two pillars that had always made the world feel secure.

For Jiro and Aoi, this meant growing up far too fast. There was no space for grief the way children should be allowed to grieve.

Instead, they had to carry responsibility, to hold themselves together, and most of all to be strong for Raziela.

Jiro tried to mirror his father’s composure, burying his fear and pain beneath control and discipline, while Aoi reacted with fierce defiance, anger, and restless energy - fighting the situation simply to survive it.

Raziela, overwhelmed by loss, fear, and exhaustion, suffered a miscarriage under the immense emotional strain, a loss that shattered what little balance remained.

And through all of this, Shiina suffered quietly, almost invisibly. The absence of her father and her beloved older brother affected her deeply, even though she could not fully understand what had happened.

She felt only that the people who made her feel safe were gone. She became smaller, quieter, more fragile, crying at night and clinging to memories, belongings, and routines that reminded her of them. She waited with a child’s unwavering hope, believing every day that they would come back, that things would return to how they were before.

Raziela, without ever announcing it or making it obvious, changed that completely.

Months before his birthday, she began preparing something just for him, knowing that whatever she gave him had to be intimate, thoughtful, and deeply personal.

In a secluded corner of the greenhouse, she began cultivating a small, heart-shaped cactus - something delicate, slow-growing, and demanding patience.

Shinki’s first Christmas with a family of his own was not loud or exuberant for him - it was quiet, heavy, and deeply emotional in a way he could barely process.

From the very beginning of the day, he moved cautiously, almost as if he were afraid to disturb the fragile warmth around him.

The decorations, the soft lights, the smell of food, the gentle laughter filling the house - all of it felt unreal, like a scene he had stepped into by accident.

He stayed close to the edges of the room, observing more than participating, unsure of where he truly belonged. This was the first time Christmas wasn’t something distant or irrelevant, but something meant for him - and that realization alone was overwhelming.

When it came time to open gifts, Shinki hesitated. He watched the others first, his siblings tearing paper open with excitement, Raziela smiling softly, Gaara quietly attentive.

When a gift was finally handed to him, he held it for a long moment without moving, his fingers gripping the edges of the wrapping paper as if afraid that opening it would somehow be a mistake. He didn’t know how to react, didn’t know what the correct response was supposed to be.

》 Under the Mistletoe 《

The living room was wrapped in a soft, cozy glow, lit by strings of warm fairy lights and a few flickering candles placed carefully on the shelves.

Outside, the desert sun had settled quietly over Sunagakure, but inside the house everything felt calm, intimate, and gently festive. Sheets of wrapping paper covered the floor, some neatly folded, others crinkled and discarded, while ribbons, bows, and small handwritten tags were spread between half-finished presents.

Raziela sat cross-legged on the rug, focused and precise as always, carefully aligning the edges of the paper before taping them down. She tied a thin ribbon around the box, tugged it once to make sure it held, and finally leaned back with a small, satisfied exhale.

“That should be the last one,” she said quietly, a rare softness in her voice. She picked the gift up and stood, intending to place it with the others near the tree.

She barely took a step before Gaara moved beside her. She didn’t hear him at first, but she felt him - the familiar calm of his presence, steady and grounding. Then she felt a gentle kiss pressed to the crown of her head. It made her pause instantly, surprise flickering through her expression.

“Gaara…?” she murmured, her voice low as she turned her head slightly toward him.

He didn’t answer right away. Instead, she noticed his hand lifting, and when she looked up, she saw a small sprig of mistletoe held above them. His expression was quiet, a little shy, but unmistakably fond - the kind of look he reserved only for her.

“I thought…” he began, then paused briefly, as if choosing his words with care. “I thought it fit the moment.”

Raziela blinked, genuinely caught off guard. For a heartbeat, she simply stared at him - then a soft laugh escaped her, breathy and warm. “You planned this,” she said, half amused, half touched.

Gaara’s arms slid gently around her waist, pulling her just a little closer. She relaxed into him without hesitation, leaning back against his chest, the tension she hadn’t even realized she was carrying melting away. Karura is one of the most important figures in Gaara’s entire life - not despite her absence, but because of it. He never had the chance to know her, to hear her voice, to feel her embrace, yet she shaped him in a way no one else ever could.

Her memory is a quiet ache in his heart, but also a guiding light, a reminder of the love he was meant to receive but never did.

Because of this, honoring her has become one of the most personal and meaningful rituals in his life.

And he never performs that ritual alone. Raziela and the children accompany him every time, turning what once was a solitary, painful visit into a shared act of love and remembrance - a family tradition woven out of healing and devotion.

They visit her grave once a month, always on the 19th - the date of Gaara’s birth, and the day she gave her life for his.

To Gaara, this timing is symbolic: a way to acknowledge that everything he is began with her sacrifice. Each visit is carried out with quiet reverence. They walk through the serene cemetery together, often in soft conversation, sometimes in complete silence.

When they reach Karura’s resting place, each family member steps forward with a flower - not just as an offering, but as a personal gesture of connection.

Raziela always chooses a white desert flower, a symbol of purity and endurance. Aoi brings something bright and wild, reflecting her own spirited nature. Jiro selects a single, simple bloom, always after thoughtful consideration. Shiina brings a tiny flower she has picked herself, her small hands presenting it with innocent sincerity.

And Shinki - who rarely reveals his heart openly - brings a flower each time as well. He places it down quietly, usually standing a step behind the others, but Gaara notices the meaning in the gesture. It is Shinki’s way of telling Karura that she matters to him, that he honors the woman who brought Gaara into the world, even if he cannot express such feelings easily.

After placing their flowers, the family spends time in silent prayer or reflection.

Raziela often kneels beside Gaara, their shoulders touching gently, offering calm support. The children stand close, some holding hands, others simply watching the breeze move through the trees.

For Gaara, these moments are profoundly emotional. Seeing his family - his greatest source of love and pride - honoring the woman he never knew but always cherished fills him with a gratitude so deep it nearly overwhelms him.

Gaara and Raziela received the news of Raziela’s first pregnancy at a moment when their life together had only just begun to take shape: they had recently moved into their first shared home, still getting used to the quiet, intimate rhythm of living together, and they had just become engaged.

Everything felt new and delicate, a fragile balance of excitement, uncertainty, and the bittersweet sense of finally having found a place to belong.

Because Gaara spent half his life without love, affection, or any form of genuine human closeness, his heart had grown profoundly starved - long before he even understood that this emptiness existed.

As a child and teenager, he knew nothing but isolation, fear, and the constant belief that he was a danger to others. No one had ever held him, warmed him, or shown him that he was worthy of being loved.

Even after so many years of marriage, Gaara and Raziela remain deeply connected and profoundly happy together.

Their relationship has changed with time - it has matured, deepened, and taken on a quiet steadiness that comes from years of shared trust, love, and understanding.

I am so happy that I can finally share my new favorite Comission from my dear Friend Pun_shun . 🥹 I got it last week and since then I had to wait to share it with you all, I am so happy I can finally post it.

Gaara and Raziela are going as Toothless and Light Fury this year, and their kids are dressed as Dart [Aoi], Ruffrunner [Jiro], Pouncer [Shiina] and last but not least, Shinki as Hiccup, standing a bit in the corner, watching over his Family, especially his Siblings with great care. 🐉

I'm a big Fan of the How to train your Dragon Movies since the first Movie came out, I saw it in Cinema and was a Fan in an instant. 🥹 Movies with Dragons always get me. 🐉

[I especially love about this Comission that Gaaras Wing is protective over Raziela, and the Eyes of the Costumes.]

Raziela had found a home not only in Gaara, but also in Sunagakure - a place she had once sworn she would never return to, and one she believed she could never love again.

When she left the village at the age of eleven, her heart was burdened with anger, grief, and betrayal. Her mother, Zynia, had vanished without a trace, and no one - neither the villagers nor the Kazekage at the time, Rasa - had done anything to find her.

To the young Raziela, Sunagakure became a symbol of injustice and indifference. It was the place that failed her, the place that allowed her family to fall apart.

Even years later, when she finally returned to Sunagakure, it didn’t feel like home. The streets that once felt familiar seemed cold and distant; the sun that burned above her seemed harsher than before. She walked through the village, surrounded by people, yet feeling completely alone - an outsider in a place that had once been her world.

It wasn’t until she met Gaara again - truly met him, beyond the titles and formalities - that something within her began to shift.

He was nothing like his father. His leadership was not built on fear or control, but on empathy, patience, and an unshakable sense of duty. In his eyes, she saw compassion and understanding, qualities she never expected to find in the man who carried the title “Kazekage.”

Gaara protected his people with a quiet, steady love - one that Raziela could feel even before she fully understood it. Through him, she began to see Sunagakure not as the village that failed her, but as the one he had rebuilt - with kindness, respect, and peace at its heart. Slowly, the bitterness she had carried for so many years began to fade.

Day by day, she started to reconnect with the village - the warm greetings of its people, the sound of children laughing in the streets, the golden glow of the sunset over the desert. She began to see beauty where she once saw only pain.

In Gaara and Raziela’s shared life, despite all the seriousness that surrounds them both, there are also many moments filled with humor.

Gaara himself rarely laughs, and even a smile is not something that comes easily to him, but that is precisely what makes those moments so special for Raziela.

He has his own very dry sense of humor that only few would understand, yet Raziela knows him well enough to catch the subtle hints behind his understated remarks.

With short, almost imperceptible comments, he often manages to make her laugh, and to him, seeing her smile means more than laughing himself. While it is difficult to make Gaara smile or laugh, there are moments when the corners of his mouth curve slightly or his gaze softens- tiny signs that outsiders might never notice.

But Raziela has learned to recognize and treasure these gestures as rare gems.

Often, it is her own humor, her spontaneous and sometimes cheeky nature, that draws out these reactions in him.

Gaara and Raziela found in each other their true soulmates - something neither of them ever expected, and something that changed their lives forever.

For Raziela, love had been a lost and closed chapter after Akio’s death. The pain she had endured back then was so deep that she believed she could never again let anyone into her heart. Out of self-protection, she built walls no one was allowed to cross. She was convinced that closeness would inevitably mean loss, and that she would never have the strength to survive such heartbreak a second time.

Gaara, on the other hand, was trapped in a life he had never chosen. From childhood, he had learned that he was different, feared, and shunned. His entire existence revolved around the village, around his duty as Kazekage, and around the well-being of others - never his own. Love, tenderness, or even the idea of a partnership had no place in his world; such a life seemed never meant for him.

But when their paths crossed, and as they slowly built trust with one another, something new began to grow within both of them.

Raziela realized that Gaara was not the man she needed to shut out - she could be weak with him, vulnerable, without fear of judgment or abandonment.

Since the twins, Aoi and Jiro, graduated from the Academy and earned the rank of Genin, Shinki became a Chunin, and even the youngest, Shiina, started attending the Academy, Gaara and Raziela have found themselves with noticeably more free time.

Evenings spent together—once often lost amid child-rearing, work, and endless obligations—have become regular again.

They cherish these moments deeply, enjoying the chance to set aside the demands of daily life for a few precious hours.

Most often, they can be found at sunset, sitting on the roof of their shared home, high above the streets of Sunagakure, gazing out over the village bathed in warm golden light. There, in the glow of the setting sun, they talk about their day, share memories, or simply enjoy the quiet closeness between them.

Sometimes, just a glance, a faint smile, or the feeling of being near each other is enough to make the moment perfect.

And when the sun finally sinks below the horizon, only the coolness of the night remains—along with the silent knowledge that their bond, even after all these years, is not only as strong as ever but deeper and more intimate than before.
