I imagine that if mecha man was on the dispatch roster, and the team was arguing about a movie or something, Blue would interject in that calm, monotone voice and go "actually...". Whatever they say would be correct, because... You're not gonna judge a cosmic beings knowledge on something, are you?

More Sentient mech Dispatch AU Will be disoriented, I struggle putting my thoughts and ideas into words. But I hope I can get my points across :) I will use it/they for Blue (The mech), but as said in the other post, Blue uses all and any pronouns as they do not care. I'm not entirely sure what the Astral Pulse is exactly, but they're some sort of cosmic entity. I imagine Blue was not fully 'aware' before becoming the Astral Pulse. They simply existed. Not much thought happening. This remained mostly the same when they became the Astral Pulse, gained the vessel of the mech, and was piloted by Robbie. Though now they integrated with the system and started following commands, as well as giving suggestions. Stuff like that. They became somewhat more aware, but they functioned mostly like a system. It was all it knew. Most mortal concepts were unknown to them. This changed with Robert, who at a young age would start communicating with them. I'm not sure what age exactly, but it was before Robbie's death. Of course, Robert and Blue would start to bond and become friends. I'm not sure if Robert would tell Robbie or Elliot. Likely, they wouldn't believe him. Or at least Robbie wouldn't. He would probably tell Chase though. Imagine if Elliot/Shroud DID know though. Imagine this guy wanting to link you with his mind (terrifying), merge with you against your will (horrying). Awful. Imagine Shroud directly speaking to Blue during the Final Stand. Not just asking Robert to hand over the pulse/Blue, but for Blue to hand over themself. Imagine that now.

About the sentient mech dispatch au... Blue (the mech, not sure what to call them) does not look like what they do in canon, because I do not like the canon design. Maybe one day I'll draw a redesign. I like to think that they look more similar to these designs that I really like. (Gundam, evangelion, zone of the enders)

Sentient mech Dispatch real. Very jumbled very rushed. I will make more detailed posts hopefully.

I think Robert would have been private about it. Maybe he wouldn't confirm that the mech was sentient until post-canon. Idk.

You could say that the Astral Pulse is the brain, and the mech is the body. They are the astral pulse, like we are our brains. About the Astral Pulse, what even is it? No idea. Maybe some sort of cosmic being. Like a star, or a piece of a star, idk. But I like to think the Astral Pulse integrated with the original mech's system to become who it is today.

I think the mech has the same feminine voice that the system has in-game. But, they do not identify with any gender. Genderless, something of the like. I think Robert would refer to them with they/them pronouns, though they don't care what people call them.

I also think... Robert should get to be a little fluid with gender. "What's your pronouns, Mecha Man?" "Idgaf call me whatever"

"Are you trans" "maybe idk. I have work to do so i cant really think about that rn"

Oh, and dear me. What the hell should they be called? I guess just 'Blue', huh? I'll be going with that.

Onwards.

The loss of the astral pulse and destruction of the mech would have hit Robert way worse than in canon. He literally lost his friend. The person that knows him best in the world. Also literaly, considering they have a psychic connection of sorts. And neurological.

Yeah, they can speak telepathically. Very cool.

I think maybe it would also be cool if the cockpit was different. Maybe more similar to Pacific Rim? I think Robert would rely less on manual controls and more on neurological and psychic/telepathic connection. Something like that. I'm not sure what words to use!

Moving forward. Yeah. In the final episode its very cathartic and joyful for them to be reunited again. And then I think Robert should pass out and get sent to the hospital because he literally got tortured gang. And theyre both like "I NEED TO SEE MY FRIEND RN!!!!"

Blue would be in the lab, moving around. and then i guess royd walks in and gets very confused. scared, possibly. "how the FUCK is the mech moving around".

Idk, they'd probably ask for news on Robert. Their link has a certain distance they can communicate within before they can only sense that the other is alive. Yeah, btw, if one died it would be extremely painful for the other. Like bonds(?) in pacific rim.

I will likely post more stuff about ghis. More detailed more in depth, perhaps. Like about how the team would interact with Blue... how the public would react. More about blue and rob's relationship. Yeah :)
