hi hi hi!!! Can i request a fic or drabble or whatever with a jaso todd x reader where reader is dating jason and they're very very loyal but reader has the biggest crush on superman since they were a teen. And superman is (technically) Jason's uncle in a way. How would that unfold?
Not proof read in the slightest 😬
Jason protectively wrapped his arm around your shoulder after picking you up from work to walk you home. Suddenly, you gripped his shirt by his chest, gasping. Assuming the worst, he went for the knife in his jacket. Slightly confused with no enemy in sight, he scanned your face to see what and where the trouble was.
“I think that was Superman!! Did you see?”
He held you closer, still shaken from the idea danger was with you guys. Now that Jason thought about it, you had never talked about your opinion on Superman before, making this conversation a little surprising.
“You’re a fan?” He asked, turning to fixate on you.
It would be unfortunate to him if you were a Superman fan. He felt a little awkward about it all since he knows way more than you think he does. He didn’t want to bring you into that world but didn’t want to lie to you about it. The blue sky reflected into your eyes that were filled with joy. That was one good thing about it, seeing the way you light up made him feel better.
“How could anyone not be? The people of metropolis must sleep so easily at night. Superman doesn’t let anyone die.”
Guilt. Jason felt it in the left of his chest. The feeling spread to his stomach as he thought of last night. Some guard was in his way. Jason had do take him out, but Superman wouldn’t have let anyone die. What would you think if you knew? Surely you'd understand that he did what needed to be done. Or would it be easier to explain he came back from the dead and mainly thinks about murder. or you.
He played his guilt off like jealousy
"He's alright. I'm more of a Wonder Woman person myself." He half joked.
You playfully shoved him.
“Yeah, you and every 20 year old guy out there. I wish lived in metropolis just to get one interview with Superman.”
You worked as a reporter for a local newspaper in Gotham, but your career hadn’t really kicked off yet. There’s plenty of crime in Gotham so its citizens don’t care much for reading on it.
Jason was alone on patrol on an unusually quiet night. So quiet he hit up his favorite 24/7 fast food shop for a burger and snacked on it from a rooftop that overlooked your apartment complex (you know, just to be sure that you’re safe. It’s completely normal and necessary). Thinking of your interaction earlier Jason punched in Dicks contact,
“Not really, I just got finished putting a thief away but other then that it’s been a quiet night.”
“Same here. Uh, so, you’re close with Kent right?” He shyly spoke.
“I mean yeah,” Dick laughed, “technically so are you.”
“I pretty sure Kent likes you more than me, so can I ask a favor?”
Dick smirked at Jason’s semi shy tone.
“Could he possibly come do an interview with a friend of mine.”
“A friend? I didn’t know you had friends.” Dick joked.
“She’s a local reporter—“
“I hear the stupid smirk on your face. Could you please just ask?”
“Well since you said please—“
“Shut up. Anyway. I think I see something happening that I have to go check out. She works at the office next to the new Jitters cafe.”
Jason hung up the phone and headed towards the street. He carefully peaked outside of an alleyway, silently following the suspect who walked into a convenience store. He watched the suspicious individual through the window where Jason confirmed his suspicions. The suspect was holding a gun at the innocent cashier when Jason came to her defense. The robber made a run for it, Jason quickly followed.
He was led down a dark alley, and, well, the next twenty minutes were not pretty. Hidden in the ally were a lot of men with weapons, ready to defend the robber. Jason was heavily outnumbered, so he took a bit of a beating but still landed on top. He did take a brick to the head, and a knife to the shin. He’d live but it was not an amazing combination. Not only was Jason having a particularly hard time walking, eyesight was spotty, and holding up his head became very difficult.
Giving in, jason decided on heading to your apartment for safety since it was so close. It was about time you found out his secret anyways. He took his mask off, and found the spare key to your apartment.
Jason could hardly stand, see, or hear, but the first thing he did was check on you. You were peacefully asleep, so he gently shut the door to your room and went back towards the bathroom looking for the medical supplies.
He sat on the floor, in pain and defeated after finally dressing his wounds. With no energy left, he slipped into sleep.
When morning came you eventually had to use the bathroom. Unaware of its current occupancy, you shrieked at the horrific sight. A pile of bandages, bloodied paper towels, bloodied clothes, and Jason passed out on the floor.
At least he cleaned himself up before sleeping
You knelt down and shook Jason’s shoulders. While doing so you noticed the red helmet next to him. You eyes widened, the shock causing you to shake Jason faster.
“Thought I’d surprise you this morning,” he tiredly joked, but you didn’t find it funny.
He slowly got off the ground, his body aching in consequence of sleeping on the hard floor. You stared at him in shock as he kissed your cheek before gently moving you aside to leave the bathroom, and walked straight into the kitchen.
You followed, speechless at his lack of explanation.
“Sorry, killer headache, making coffee for both of us. You can use the bathroom now. I promise I’ll clean up later.”
As you peed you looked down at your floor. Bulletproof chest, red helmet, jacket with a bat emblem.
Oh lord, what have I gotten myself into
You wondered if you should be afraid with a dangerous vigilante in your home, but it was conflicting too much with your perception of Jason.
Jason had set out a cup of coffee made just the way you like it, as he quietly sipped on his.
“I have to leave for work in an hour. Explain fast, please.” You lifted the coffee, needing all the caffeine you can get today.
“I mean, there’s not too much to explain? You saw the suit. I know you know of him.”
You knew of redhood from working in journalism.
“But why do you do this? For money?”
Jason was silent for a moment.
“I want the streets to be safer. I grew up in crime ally and want to stop anyone from ending up hurt the way I was..”
The only thing you knew about his personal life was him being adopted.
“So you just learned to fight? How have you not died?”
Now doesn’t really feel like the right time to bring up being trained by Batman.
“If it’s too personal I understand.”
“No, no, I just know you’re on a time crunch. I was trained by Batman. But we’ve gone our separate ways.”
He felt surprisingly emotional. There wasn’t a way to sugarcoat why they went their own way.
“I promise that I’m safe. No one can kill me.” Not again
He reassured you, placing his hand on the back of your head to pull your forehead in for a kiss.
“You should get ready for work.”
“You’re right. Thank you for telling me, Jay. Your secrets are safe with me. And promise me you won’t go out for a few nights. No more surprises, okay?”
You held his cheek, smiling.
“No more surprises, I swear.” He smiled into your palm.
You managed to make it to work on time, and had a somewhat productive day despite having so much to think about. Towards the end of your day, you had been sleepily making a third cup of coffee when the receptionist grabbed your attention.
“Your four o’clock is here for their interview. He said he was meeting you on the terrace? Is that right to you?”
My four o’clock? I don’t remember that.
But, you’ll take what you can get.
You quickly finished crafting the coffee and curiously headed to the terrace, but no one was there.
You jumped, not expecting a response that you can’t see. The voice came from behind you. When you turned around, a large figure was smiling at you from the sky.
“A friend said you wanted an interview.”
Superman. Superman is talking to me.
He drifted back into the ground to be eye level with you.
It was almost impossible to keep it together. He had been your crush since you were a teenager. But how could you ever expect to meet him? Especially from Gotham?
“Of course! Uh, My name is (your name),”
“(Your name) it’s nice to meet you.” Superman spoke with a charming smile.
You marched into your apartment, walking on sunshine. The first thing you did was grab Jason’s head and forcibly kiss him. He wasted no time in returning the kiss, his hand placed on your hips. You finally let go for a moment,
“Jay, you beautiful, amazing man.”
You placed another kiss on his cheek.
His face was pink from all the sudden attention.
“I’m actually not sure what the occasion is” he sheepishly said.
You only rolled your eyes. Nobody else you know could possibly of contacted Superman.
“I’m forever in debt yo you Jay, seriously. How can I make it up to you?”
You pressed more kisses around his face.
Jason was loving every moment of this, but that didn’t make him any less confused.
he smiled, feeling warm from blushing.
“But seriously,” kiss “what did I do?”
“Superman came and visited me at work today!! And you said no more surprises!” Kiss You smiled, happily hugging him.
“Oh yeah, I did do that—“ kiss
