  REVIEW: MY FIRST SCALEXTRIC

When The people over at Hornby Hobby said, they were looking for reviews on My First Scalextric it’s aged 3 featuring an easy-to-assemble figure-of-eight track.

I thought, how exciting it would be for Monkey to test her Sharing capabilities and to introduce turn taking.

Yes I got worried it was a meltdown about to happen BUT when I opened the box, and we assembled the track Nothing happened.

We were provided with two rally cars Red and Yellow the main thing was WHAT colour were Monkey and KK going to choose?

Red was for Monkey, KK would have preferred Blue ( Favourite colour ) then the next step was monkey getting used to the adjustable power hand-controllers which are colour coded in red and yellow to match what car it drives. Always Handy!

It didn’t take long for the race to start and the laughter to follow, wait not crying and frustration?

It was enjoyed by us all! we giggled every time the car came off the track ( a little more than on )

After reading about My First Scalextric – Benefits

I could see this in Monkey and not only that she shared took turns with KK and wanted to play together something I initially didn’t think was possible just yet.

I very much enjoyed zipping around the track I know my dad can’t wait to have ago as well.

  Aladdin The Musical

The National Autism Society arranged a relaxed performance for Aladdin the musical. It had been booked since we went to see Mama Mia -link- Traveling was a nightmare due to works on the Warterloo line so we had to get the bus, six in total there and back I would say it took over an hour.

It’s always a great feeling to see the theatre lit up with the current performance being shown,

I did a little theatre spotting for fun and as they are within close proximity to Aladdin The Musical shown at Prince Edward theatre, based on the classic animated film that brings Trevor Dion Nicholas as genie in this whole new world rendition from the Disney animated film 1992 Aladdin The Musical opened on Broadway in March 2014

The show is approximately 2 hours and 30 minutes, including a 20 minute interval providing the fire alarm doesn’t go off and having to be evacuated, yes it was an accident and nothing serious kk was finding it hard to keep calm along with other people in the auditorium. However, that being said I have to say how great the theatre team and NAS along with the Disney store team thank you for keeping us safe!

As always the main cast comes out on stage to introduce themselves with there character names The stage props were very eye catching and seemingly true Agraba esque sand stone buildings with orange hues. The costumes were bedazzling and certainly Princess worthy.

I would of liked to if seen Jasmine played by Jade Ewen, being more sassy in her role, how it’s portrayed in the film you wouldn’t really mess with her. Aladdin played by Matthew Croke was a sweet character and showed good choreography skills building climbing and jumping.

Jafar played by Don Gallagher, I feel was brilliantly done he could even of been a bit darker in his look and speech but this was a good character role.

However, I have to say although I enjoyed watching Aladdin The Musical I was sorely disappointed that Abu and Raja wasn’t included, what’s Aladdin without them? That saddened me, but I really did enjoy The magic Carpet scene that was cleaverly done and brought Aladdin The Musical to life.

I am a stickler for original cast or as close replication as possible or there is no point, Robin Williams was full centre for me in Aladdin he put so much energy into his roles and Genie was a massive role for him, growing up him as one of my Idols I really wasn’t sure if anyone could be any better. So what did I think of Trevor Dion Nicholas’ character portrayal of Genie, I feel he was fun bubbly and passionate about his role.

Overall I enjoyed watching Aladdin The Musical it’s definitely a must see.

But for me Abu and Rajah were missing.

  Camping In New Forest

Bewildered in the wilderness

I’m a girl for luxury, I love a nice comfy bed, bubble bath, air conditioning and all the mod cons, this includes wifi and a toilet in proximity.

However, I am stuck in a tent Camping In New Forest; in the wilderness! With no mod-cons, no wifi and no tv! What have I let myself in for? Am I mad? Yes! Yes, I am.

We were greeted by the campmate’s leader who is helpful, friendly and more importantly up for a laugh.

At first glance, there are large tents dotted around an area with the central section where the leaders keep stock and gas canisters. There is also a hexagon set up with picnic tables and a camp fire for the evening.

Day 1

was mainly chilling and letting the children run around; I was worried to let monkey wander too far from my eye range and for kk to have tree climbing competitions with the other campers.

At around 6 pm we had our welcome meeting where Nick the camp leader let us know how the camp is run where facilities were ( we need a map to navigate the toilet and showers ) However in close range was the Eco toilet. Sounds glamorous and oh solar powered lighting swishing door that in my opinion needs a hell of a lot of WD40 sprayed on the runners. And the luxury of not having to flush yes when you enter this fantastic invention, it’s crap on crap, wee on wee there is no flushing involved, and because it’s eco, it’s also disgusting to smell.

The first night in camping was a little weird purely because I love my bed and space, this is a single camp bed, and I’m 5″10. And not that small in size so turning was rather fun.

Day 2-

Pretty much enjoyed sitting about getting social with other campmates. The energy here IS to a point pleasant and accommodating, which gives you the community feel. Aside from a couple of adults and their children, it was a beautiful environment. We went up to the lodge reception to book activities for the girls if you have kids from 6 years plus there is a range of things you can do like wall climbing, archery, zip line, high ropes, low ropes and a small heated pool open at certain times.

Sadly there was nothing for the monkey to do, but we were able to book pioneering for kk and hope for the next day. So we went back to camp armed with sweets and some bits.

Monkey loves running around in the back with the girls but they got tired so fast, and the monkey was left to her own devices.

Dinner was mushy pea curry Slimming World style, and of course was lovely.

Settling down monkey which took a little time as she had a nap earlier in the day, we then enjoyed some campfire time with toasting marshmallows mmm

  THE LITTLE MIX EXPERIENCE

Are you a fan of Little Mix? Your little ladies and gents love to boogie to tunes on high volume? We got the chance to go to See The Little Mix Experience at the Churchill Theatre, in Bromley.

Well, The Little Mix Experience was very audience inclusive and got the kids involved loads!

I always get emotional when I see kids smiling and screaming for joy! As soon as the girls appeared on stage, all the kids were screaming with delight.

You see the next best thing to seeing Little Mix the girl band is The Little Mix Experience.

The girls who play the roles of the band members Perrie Edwards, Jesy Nelson, Jade Thirlwall and Leigh-Anne Pinnock. In a concert style show while adding in facts as well as getting you on your feet and teaching you how to make the moves. The Little Mix Experience was something that I enjoyed. I’ve been to concerts before (UB40, Shawn Mendes ) and, it was for the children a snippet of how it would feel.

Also, the outfits were very revealing but are what Little Mix wear on stage; kk said “why are they in their underwear?” lol had to giggle. The lighting team and sound team did a good job, the build up to The Little Mix Experience coming out on stage was excellent. I was overly impressed with how much energy the girls had so early in the morning so well done! Choreographing was fantastic and bang on what the routines are.

The girls were perfect I couldn’t help but want a glittery bomber jacket myself! There was also a bit at the end where you could queue to meet and greet and have pictures with them.But KK can’t do waiting in lines. I could see a lot of excited kids waiting to meet and greet.

My Little Mix Experience was fun, energetic and entertaining all good round fun! KK’s favourite song was Black Magic which was Little Mix’s released on their ‘Get Weird’ album in 2015

I have two songs I enjoyed hearing and seeing the dance routine Salute; this made the name of their fourth Album Salute released in November 2013  

  And Wings from Little Mix’s DNA album Released November 2012

I would give The Little Mix Experience A  4/5 Rating

  Out Of Order Theater Review

Ray Cooney’s Out Of Order 

I was lucky to get the chance to see Ray Cooney’s latest show Out Of Order. Starring Susie Amy from footballers wives, Sue Holderness who is known for her role in only fools and horses Marleen, Shaun Williamson is best known for his role in Eastenders (Barry), And James Holmes knew for being in Miranda.

Out of order is based in the Westminster Hotel, The stage was set up as the hotel room rather spacious large lounge area, a small cloakroom bedroom and an ensuite. And a rather dodgy sash window and a balcony.

It was cleverly set up, the fluidity of the actors I think Jeffrey Harmer who played Richard ‘Dicky’ Willey did so well in remembering what he was transpiring to the audience. I was half expecting him to get confused but did really well in keeping us all up with what was unraveling on stage, you see When Richard Willey (Jeffrey Harmer), a Government Junior Minister, plans to spend the evening with Jane Worthington (Susie Amy), one of the Opposition’s typists, in the Westminster Hotel, things go disastrously wrong – beginning with the discovery of a body trapped in the hotel’s only unreliable sash window. Desperately trying to get out of an incredibly sticky situation, Richard calls for his secretary, George Pigden (Shaun Williamson) who, through Richard’s lies sinks further and further into trouble with everybody and ends up going through an identity crisis. Things go from bad to worse with the arrival of Jane’s distraught young husband and with the addition of an unscrupulous waiter (James Holmes), a frustrated Hotel Manager (Arthur Bostrom), Mrs Willey (Sue Holderness) and Nurse Foster – things come to a head!

I found how they incorporated the latest Politicians and local area into the script cleaver and had the audience laughing, ‘poor mayvey wavey’.

James Holmes was particularly amusing and reminded me of Manwell from Fawlty Towers in his ability to act dumb but sneakily clever as the show progressed ‘ah hem’.

Out Of order’s story line is cleverly constructed and has the odd ooh err moments and lots of giggles, I think the cast chosen were perfect and blended so well as a team even at difficult moments they still kept it going was cleverly portrayed.
