Ugh, it was in mine. It's off now.
IT GETS WORSE
I had to turn this off, but it's something that allows Windows and anyone using your device to generate text/images.

Can't afford art school?
After seeing post like this š
And this gem š
As well as countless of others from the AI generator community. Just talking about how "inaccessible art" is, I decided why not show how wrong these guys are while also helping anyone who actually wants to learn.
Here is the first one ART TEACHERS! There are plenty online and in places like youtube.
šŗHere is my list:
Proko (Free, mostly teaches anatomy and how to draw people. But does have art talks and teaches the basics.)
Marc Brunet (Free but he does have other classes for a cheap price. Use to work for Blizzard and teaches you everything)
Aaron Rutten (free, tips about art, talks about art programs and the best products for digital art)
BoroCG (free, teaches a verity of art mediums from 3D modeling to digital painting. As well as some tips that can be used across styles)
Jesse J. Jones (free, talks about animating)
Jesus Conde (free, teaches digital painting and has classes in Spanish)
Mohammed Agbadi (free, he gives some advice in some videos and talks about art)
Ross Draws (free, he does have other classes for a good price. Mostly teaching character designs and simple backgrounds.)
SamDoesArts (free, gives good advice and critiques)
Drawfee Show (free, they do give some good advice and great inspiration)
The Art of Aaron Blaise ( useful tips for digital art and animation. Was an animator for Disney. Mostly nature art)
Bobby Chiu ( useful tips and interviews with artist who are in the industry or making a living as artist)
Sinix Design (has some tips on drawing people)
Winged canvas (art school for free on a verity of mediums)
Bob Ross (just a good time, learn how to paint, as well as how too relax when doing art. "there are no mistakes only happy accidents", this channel also provides tips from another artist)
Scott Christian Sava (Inspiration and provides tips and advice)
Pikat (art advice and critiques)
Drawbox (a suggested cheap online art school, made of a community of artist)
Skillshare (A cheap learning site that has art classes ranging from traditional to digital. As well as Animation and tutorials on art programs. All under one price, in the USA it's around $34 a month)
Human anatomy for artist (not a video or teacher but the site is full of awesome refs to practice and get better at anatomy)
Second part BOOKS, I have collected some books that have helped me and might help others.
šHere is my list:
The "how to draw manga" series produced by Graphic-sha. These are for manga artist but they give great advice and information.
"Creating characters with personality" by Tom Bancroft. A great book that can help not just people who draw cartoons but also realistic ones. As it helps you with facial ques and how to make a character interesting.
"Albinus on anatomy" by Robert Beverly Hale and Terence Coyle. Great book to help someone learn basic anatomy.
"Artistic Anatomy" by Dr. Paul Richer and Robert Beverly Hale. A good book if you want to go further in-depth with anatomy.
"Directing the story" by Francis Glebas. A good book if you want to Story board or make comics.
"Animal Anatomy for Artists" by Eliot Goldfinger. A good book for if you want to draw animals or creatures.
"Constructive Anatomy: with almost 500 illustrations" by George B. Bridgman. A great book to help you block out shadows in your figures and see them in a more 3 diamantine way.
"Dynamic Anatomy: Revised and expand" by Burne Hogarth. A book that shows how to block out shapes and easily understand what you are looking out. When it comes to human subjects.
"An Atlas of animal anatomy for artist" by W. Ellenberger and H. Dittrich and H. Baum. This is another good one for people who want to draw animals or creatures.
Etherington Brothers, they make books and have a free blog with art tips.
šAs for Supplies, I recommend starting out cheap, buying Pencils and art paper at dollar tree or 5 below. If you want to go fancy Michaels is always a good place for traditional supplies. They also get in some good sales and discounts. For digital art, I recommend not starting with a screen art drawing tablet as they are usually more expensive.
For the Best art Tablet I recommend either Xp-pen, Bamboo or Huion. Some can range from about 40$ to the thousands.
š»As for art programs here is a list of Free to pay.
Clip Studio paint ( you can choose to pay once or sub and get updates. Galaxy, Windows, macOS, iPad, iPhone, Android, or Chromebook device. )
Procreate ( pay once for $9.99 usd, IPAD & IPHONE ONLY)
Blender (for 3D modules/sculpting, animation and more. Free)
PaintTool SAI (pay but has a 31 day free trail)
Krita (Free)
mypaint (free)
FireAlpaca (free)
Aseprite ($19.99 usd but has a free trail, for pixel art Windows & macOS)
Drawpile (free and for if you want to draw with others)
IbisPaint (free, phone app ONLY)
Medibang (free, IPAD, Android and PC)
NOTE: Some of these can work on almost any computer like Clip and Sai but others will require a bit stronger computer like Blender. Please check their sites for if your computer is compatible.
So do with this information as you will but as you can tell there are ways to learn how to become an artist, without breaking the bank. The only thing that might be stopping YOU from using any of these things, is YOU.
I have made time to learn to draw and many artist have too. Either in-between working two jobs or taking care of your family and a job or regular school and chores. YOU just have to take the time or use some time management, it really doesn't take long to practice for like an hour or less. YOU also don't have to do it every day, just once or three times a week is fine.
Hope this was helpful and have a great day.
"also apologies for any spelling or grammar errors, I have Dyslexia and it makes my brain go XP when it comes to speech or writing"
Boosting this in case any of the programs and books suggested are useful.
All the photos on this tumblr ad the animal photo reference site I run is another resource available for artists to use!
As long as youāre not using AI to create your art, you can reference / trace / draw / recombine / make any sort of art you want, with any of the photos, for free.
There's also MORPHO, a really good book series on anatomy by Michel Lauricella, with very clear explanations and sketches!
And for pose references, there's @adorkastock who shares a ton of them for free, with different models and props, and her website is amazing <3 you can also buy pose packs from her.
This new piece was created in collaboration with The Marine Mammal Center! We have made signed prints available and a portion of all proceeds will go to them :)
reblog if you're gay, not gay, slightly gay, or if you just want to launch donald trump into a dying star
Lots of thoughts recently. Everything feels plastic.
I could go on and on about why all that AI "art" is bad. I could mention theft, lack of creativity, it's impact on the work field and environment, but countless people have already said all that. I wanted to touch on something that to me is the most utterly wrong about all of it.
Art is more than just something pretty to look at or listen to. It's therapeutic. It's a form of communication. A tool for human connection. It's a pure, human need.

Thereās a protest going on against AI art over on artstation, so I feel like now is the time for me to make a statement on this issue!Ā
I wholeheartedly support the ongoing protest against AI art. Why? Because my artwork is included in the datasets used to train these image generators without my consent. I get zero compensation for the use of my art, even though these image generators cost money to use, and are a commercial product.Ā
Musicians are not being treated the same way. Stability has a music generator that only uses royalty free music in their dataset. Their words: āBecause diffusion models are prone to memorization and overfitting, releasing a model trained on copyrighted data could potentially result in legal issues.ā Why is the work of visual artists being treated differently?
Many have compared image generators to human artists seeking out inspiration. Those two are not the same. My art is literally being fed into these generators through the datasets, and spat back out of a program that has no inherent sense of what is respectful to artists. As long as my art is literally integrated into the system used to create the images, it is commercial use of my art without my consent.
Until there is an ethically sourced database that compensates artists for the use of their images, I am against AI art. I also think platforms should do everything they can to prevent scraping of their content for these databases.Ā
Artists, speak out against this predatory practice! Our art should not be exploited without our consent, and we deserve to be compensated when our art is exploited for commercial use.Ā
ā ļøSCAM ALERTā ļø
soo scams have been on the rise lately. i was recently approached by a woman saying she wanted a portrait of her daughter for $200. she āaccidentallyā wrote a check for $2000 instead, wanting me to send back $1800.
i almost did it, because i assumed a faulty check wouldnāt deposit. luckily i looked up mobile banking check scams. YOU CAN STILL BE SCAMMED WITH A BAD CHECK. it wonāt flag it till later, leaving you owing money.
i just wanted to share this because i couldāve been totally fucked over if i didnāt look it up. stay safe out there guys
Thank you, OP, it is always good to see awareness being spread about scams! Knowledge and skepticism are the best ways to fight them.
This oneās a popular variation on whatās called anĀ āoverpaymentā scam. Any time anybody sends (general) you money and then asks you to send some of that money back, you should be looking out for this.Ā
Also, because apparently a lot of younger people donāt know this: cheques arenāt immediate payments. It can take five to ten days for a cheque to clear - that is, for the other bank or credit union to get notified about the cheque trying to be withdrawn from the account they hold, determine whether or not the cheque is legit and the funds are available, and either let the cheque go through or ask for the money back if the cheque is bad.Ā Yes, you can see your account balance go up immediately, but that money gets taken right back out of your account if the cheque is bad.
On an episode of Bar Rescue I saw once, the bar owners hadnāt paid their staff for several months, and Jon Taffer insisted that they pay their staff before heād help them. However, he had the bar owners write the manager a chequeĀ for the back wages, and then go and deposit the cheque to her account that same day, and then when she came back the same dayĀ and said sheād been able to deposit the cheque, he went ahead. That cheque could easily have bounced three days later and the staff still wouldnāt have been paid their back wages.Ā
Itās a good rule of thumb, if youāre accepting a cheque, to assume the money isnāt actuallyĀ there until at least a week has passed. (Some banks or credit unions will have whatās called aĀ āstandard holdā on certain types of cheque deposits, so that you actually canāt access those funds until after the cheque clears. If youāve ever deposited a cheque at an ATM, youāve probably run into this.)
And finally, before I get off my soapbox again, if anybody ever emails you an image of a cheque, itās fake. End of. You canāt email cheques and then deposit them any more than you can email dollar bills and then print them out and spend them.Ā
Hello, i work in a bank and have a few things of value to add! Please note that my knowledge is based entirely around where i work in the united states and your local laws may be different :)
1) you actually CAN deposit an emailed image of a check. Checks are just promises to pay, they arent equivalent to cash. If a check contains all of the information to deposit, it can be deposited. Iāve actually seen this a few times. THAT SAID, this is ONLY something ive seen done by very large companies. If someone sends you a personal check thats emailed, thatās sketch as hell and super weird.
2) the scammer here also says that if the person doesnāt deposit, then there will be consequences. This is NOT. TRUE. This is NEVER true. Once again, a check is a promise to pay. That is ALL. Checks and cash are NOT equivalent. You know how you hear about people balancing their accounts? What theyāre doing is taking into account the checks theyve written that havenāt cleared yet. Unless something is a cashierās check, the money is not taken out of the account at time of check issuance. And even then you still arenāt responsible for that. Hell, even if you deposited this check and it was good and you DIDNāT return the money, this person would have a neat time trying to prove you did anything wrong by depositing a bank issued check made payable to your name because it was for an amount they verified but didnāt actually want to give you.
Also, yāall need to be careful about scams, because its very likely the bank wonāt protect you. I canāt vouch for other banks, but at mine, if someone tells you to do something, you do it, and you lose thousands of dollars⦠thatās your fault, and youāre responsible for it. If someone calls one of my elderly customers, and scares her stupid so she gives them half her life savings in gift card money, i canāt do anything to help her because she made the purchase herself.
If someone is scaring you, and money is involved, CALL. YOUR. BANK. Call a branch, or the customer service number. We know scams. Some of us have been in finances for decades. Scammers want you to be scared, rushed, and emotional because they donāt want you to think. There is NOTHING in this world that needs to be acted on in the next 5 minutes, there is no genuine offer that you will lose if you take the time to call your bank first or check to see if your family member is okay (because yes, people have claimed to have loved ones hostage, my coworkers have told me a story they dealt with where a scammer was claiming to have a womanās daughter).
Take a breath, and check. We cannot help you once the money is out of your account.

Could we crash tumblr if we all posted the word "crash" on the 1st of april 2022, 12:35 EST?
Everyone schedule
Pm
Doing it again since I accidentally put the wrong time zone
Event Time Announcer shows time for Tumblr - Crash in locations all over the world. In New York it happens on Friday, April 1, 2022 at 12:35
So everyone can find their time :3
You may ask, "Jenna, why do you want this? Isn't there enough suffering in the world?" Well, you are right. But I want to scare the owners of this site. Not @staff, you know damn well they don't actually call the shots. No, i want to scare the people who make decisions. I want them to know that we can act as a unit and wreck shit on our own accord, that this community can move mountains. I want them to hesitate next time they make an announcement. Popular sovereignty, motherfuckers.
I know most people know this but some people in the notes don't, so reminder that you don't have to wake up or anything to post it, just schedule the post like this:
now you just hit the blue schedule and forget about it until the day it happens š
oh hell yeah im doing this gamers join us
i love this because everyone ive seen who's reblogged this is like "yeah okay whatever" like nobody's really excited about this it's just something we all feel the need to do because it's our duty to keep this website as uninhabitable as the fucking mariana trench
reblog to give the person you reblogged this from a little pumpkin š§”
