I’ll never be stray again, lost again anymore

when the casting dropped that liam pearce was going to be playing romeo, I was ecstatic. earlier that year, I had lost a show that was incredibly important to me (htdio) yet here I was gaining a piece of it back in my other favorite show. what an honor it has been to get to see liam in & juliet over these past 2 years.

i’m not subtle about the fact that i’m autistic. so much of my autism comes out in my fandom of this show. in fact, i’d say i’m incredibly autistic when it comes to my love of romeo specifically. having an autistic person play romeo, a character that is not autistic, has been incredibly special. to have a romeo who understands what it is like to have a special interest the way mine is & juliet is something i’ll never forget. forever thinking about that broadway con panel where liam talked about fans of this show in such a beautiful way.

watching liam go from playing drew to playing romeo was kind of crazy, especially vocally. for drew, the riffs and opts from him were few and far between as part of the nature of the show. then when it came to romeo, liam did the most crazy vocal choices ive ever heard. it felt like every show I heard a new riff or new opt that i’d never heard before. truly I admire his vocal ability and agility.
