It took me up to 1.23 before I checked that it was "You didn't know", just rewritten plus animated.

Applause for this idea.

As the title suggests, I've developed a little theory about this fanfiction series since the first chapter of part two was released. To make it a bit clearer, I've created a visual conspiracy diagram and will explain my thought process step by step.

Before we begin, however, I'd like to briefly explain the structure:

I'd also be very happy to hear/read your opinions on this, just to see if anyone has a similar thought process to mine or their own theory. Let's conspire together!

But all joking aside, it's time to present my theory.

Let's start with the setting to see who's involved.

We find ourselves with Ledior Vaude in the center, as he's the central figure for the others. To the left, we see his wife, Liliane, and clearly connected to both of them, Langris. To the right, we find Finral and his unknown mother, Miss Roulacase.

Let's first present the facts we have gathered so far (as of October 21, 2025). On top of that, I split it into two pages and pin them to their respective sides.                            Let's start with our baby boy:

Finral is only 15 at the beginning of the story and recently got his grimoire.

Shortly after that, he was kicked out.

Despite everything, he is still Lidior's son from his first marriage.

He grew up extremely isolated from his family (his "room" was as far away from the family wing as possible).                              In fakt Lidior actet as he didn’t even existed.

He was threatened that if he caused Langris any trouble, he would be sent to someone who would use him as an "apprentice."             It isn't specified who, but it's implied that this person would misuse Finral's magic for nefarious purposes.

He was told by his "father" that Langris's life would be better off without him.

For those wondering why I put "father" in quotes: He's an asshole, what more do I need to say?

So let's now turn to our golden boy, Langris:

Langris is, as far as we know, between 19 and 20 years old, since we learned in the notes of the first story that the two have an age difference of 4-5 years.

He is already in Golden Dawn. The „rising star“

He was adopted by Lidior after Lidior married his mother when Langris was about 5 years old.

He is the heir tot he Vaude House

Looking at this so far, not much has fundamentally changed from canon. But HERE are a few questions that immediately come to mind.

Why was Langris named heir if he doesn't even have Vaude blood in his veins?

Why was Lidior so cold and distant towards his living son while he was growing up? So much so that he and his second wife, Finral, threatened him with a terrible fate.                                               And I don't believe that his "false" magic alone has anything to do with it.

And that was the moment when my little grey brain cells started moving.                                         Of course, it must be said that we don't yet know many facts, including exactly what Langris looks like. Therefore, the following things are all just hypotheses, such as my assumption that Langris still looks like he does in canon, which naturally raises another question: How would this be possible if he and Lidior are not related?                                                                 To avoid making the overview too confusing regarding the font, from this point onwards I will present things based on hypotheses, theories and assumptions differently.

Let's start with the indirect facts we know about the House Roulacase, which isn't much:

The Roulacase family is a noble family, albeit a less prominent one than others.

So far, we only know of two members: Finral, who is technically a Vaude, and his unnamed mother.

So what can we conclude from this information?                              It is quite possible that Finral's mother was the last of her family and that through her marriage the name, or rather the household, was more or less dissolved.

And this is where my theory of further conspiracy begins.

Let's assume, then, that Finral's mother was the last of the House Roulacase and therefore the sole heir. Who says that just because her family was an lesser noble family, they weren't wealthy?                   And let's further assume that Liliane and Lidior had an affair, and Langris is the product of it. Both are very interested in gaining more influence and, I imagine, wealth as well. So, what if they hatched a plan to get their hands on the Roulacase fortune?

Let me quickly rearrange the board so we don't lose track.

So, what was the first step in their plan? To make Miss Roulacase fall in love with Lidior, or at least agree to marry her, in order to continue her bloodline.                                                                                           I suppose that since Langris himself was only five when his mother became Lidior's second wife, this first step took quite some time. Why? Possibly because he wasn't the only one after her fortune, and she took her time getting to know each suitor and weighing up their true motives before agreeing.

I assume the courtship lasted between two and three years, based on Langri's age.                                  And in the end, Lidior completed step one and married Miss Roulacase.

Logically, the next step would be to ensure her fortune stays with him and get rid of his wife so he could marry his true love/conspiracy partner. But a sudden death so soon after the wedding would raise questions. So another solution had to be found.

And what better cover-up for a murder than to be able to present an apparently natural, albeit tragic, cause as the reason? I'm talking, of course, about maternal mortality.                                                 I don't know the correct English term, and the translator won't give it to me!                                              So he made sure his wife got pregnant. After all, it's only nine months he has to wait, barring any unforeseen circumstances.

During the pregnancy, Lidior may have met regularly with Liliane, for whatever reason, to continue planning with her.             Finral's mother may have become suspicious, especially since her husband was very distant, which didn't fit the typical expectant father's behavior.

And to ensure her child's well-being, while Lidior was seeing Liliane, she met with a lawyer in secret and drew up a will in which her child is named as the beneficiary should certain criteria be met.  These conditions included, for example, that the child would not be mistreated or that they would choose to take on her old family name.

And after 9 months, Finral was born. This meant Lidior and Liliane could finally move on to step 2: "eliminating" the first wife.                                                                                                                   We can assume that a poison was probably used which produced similar symptoms in Miss Roulacase as a new mother suffering from puerperal fever.

Okay, before we continue, I need to rearrange things a bit, since everything has been gathered on one page so far.

And after Miss Roulacase succumbed to her "illness," Liliane and Lidior only had to wait out the usual mourning period before they could marry, and Lidior could finally name his firstborn son as his own.                  As for Finral, the Vauds ignored him and, as best they could, ostracized him. Unfortunately, there's not much to say yet about the sibling relationship between Finral and Langris; we'll just have to wait until via_the_cryptid uploads more.

Personally, I'd like it if, despite everything, the two had a positive relationship and we might even see a protective Big Brother Langris someday.

But that still doesn't fully explain why Lidior and Liliane are such assholes towards Finral. And I highly doubt that this is simply due to his "wrong" magic.                                                                                              So let's now tie up the last few threads and conclude the theory/conspiracy for now.

I think at the beginning, Lidior and Liliane completely ignored Finral, as Lidior apparently still does later on, since Finral noticed this. But at some point, by a really stupid coincidence, one of them found the copy of Miss Roulacase's will (I doubt she would have been too naive to keep the original of the only thing that would have secured her son's future somewhere where one of the Vaudes could find and destroy it).

That was the moment they realized that their "perfect" plan wasn't as perfect as they thought. Of course, they destroyed the copy to prevent anyone else from stumbling across it by accident, let alone Finral himself. They knew that having an "accident" could raise too many questions, so they couldn't do that. And perhaps a notary would be at their door as soon as Finral reached inheritance age (be it 16 or 18. Let's say 16 for dramatic effect). The two had invested too much time in their sceam to lose it all to a child who was merely a means to an end for Lidior.                                              So what did they do? They isolated Finral even further, prevented any interaction between him and Langris as much as they could, and did everything they could to make Finral feel unwanted. Why? Finral might run away on his own, or, as happened in the story, be kicked out, and they could claim he had run away. If anyone had seen even a glimpse of, for example, how distant the boy was from the rest of the family, no one would question such a statement. And if the notary were to appear to inform Finral of his inheritance, the Vaudes could honestly say they hadn't the slightest idea where the boy had disappeared to. And if they had been lucky, their problem would have solved itself. One way or another.

And THAT's my theory so far.

As the title already suggests, I have a different kind of recommendation today.

Before I get to the story, "Crossing the Line" by eclipsingbinary & WildflowerWoods, I want to say that I've been obsessed with it ever since the first song from Hazbin Hotel Season 2, "Gravity," came out. And after reading a bit of the story, the idea for a rewritten version of the song instantly came to me.

I don't want to give away too much of what the story is about; really, once you're done reading this post, you should definitely read the story yourself.

The only thing I'll tell you about the first chapter: It's not what it seems.

What you should know: I started rewriting it before I was even finished with the story, which means some of the content might deviate from what actually happened in the story. But I think, considering the song's message, I still managed to incorporate it, theoretically, into the story.

I once again have some Black Clover recommendations for you.

This time with Finral in focus. None of the stories are related per se, so I've broken it down into categories a bit

The first story that I would like to introduce to you, "A Family Lost, A Family Found" by Vievin, is an AU in which Liliane, the Bitch Queen herself, has removed her unloved stepson from the house and Finral grows up under different circumstances. Poorer but happier AND he has a bunch of siblings:

Hello everyone, I have another little fanfiction series to recommend.

The series is called "Hunted" and is a cooperation project between eclipsingbinary and finralroulacoolsa.

What is it about? More or less a butterfly effect. How a small decision has a big impact on the overall picture, especially for Finral. The second part is the aftermath of the main story.

And I have to say, I love the way the two authors made a play on words between "hunted" and "haunted" in the titles.
