not to mention, he was being manipulated by gaea. as in, grandmother of the most powerful gods on earth. As in, the first ever protogenoi. As in, the first ever conscious being in the universe. So yes, he did some dumb, bad stuff, but-- Reyna left. Reyna broke their most sacred laws and LEFT when she was their only leader. the greeks essentially declared war on them, and reyna left to go SUPPORT them. No, i don't think it's ridiculous for Octavian to take charge, WHO ELSE WAS THERE? there wasn't a SINGLE leader in the camp...

Should he have allied with monsters? probably not. was that only him though, or was that gaea's influence? probably gaea's. the onagers? again, terrible idea, but LEO FIRED FIRST.

Piper wasn't there, she never had the experience of Silena being her sister, she didn't actually know her, they never met.

Drew obviously would've known Silena well enough because she was the next cabin counsellor (assuming none of the older Aphrodite children died) so her being extremely mad at Silena was justified, this girl she was supposed to see as her sister, someone who would protect her younger siblings and someone who was meant to lead by an example, just betrayed them, betrayed HER.
