doing mark of the assassin and thinking about tamar at chateau haine and being extremely sad about it. tamar, who did everything she could to earn the gold needed to go on the expedition (and more, if accidentally) only to use nearly all of that money to lift her mother out of gamlen's lowtown squalor and into their family's ancestral home. tamar, who delighted in being feted by an orlesian duke. (her! a girl from lothering! who only had two coppers to rub together after the blight took everything from her family!) tamar, who knew that there was a plan and knew not to trust tallis and knew this moment of fancy would only last that long. a moment. tamar, who ends up in a prison cell by the end of the night, stewing in humiliation and anger towards tallis. she thrived during that little glimpse into a different life, and having it all snatched away? having daggers put back into her hands and told there's a fight to fight? she'd be a little heartsick over it.
