EXACTLY. Finally someone said this. He had such a different and alluring vibe in the pilot, and it can be excused that the first season was rushed- but the leaks of his backstory sequence? I expected something much better, like a whole episode dedicated to him, especially seeing as he’s one of the most mysterious characters and a fan favorite. We got snippets into his life but not even anything major that wasn’t his death- the whole fanbase expected something in his childhood and his relation with his mother and father to explain why he’s so close to women but targets men later in life and the afterlife. It just wasn’t enough. And don’t get me wrong- I love his design… it looks exactly like a fan-made one I saw a few months ago and wished for it to be true… BUT THAT MUSTACHE. 😟 if anything, they did much much better with Sir Pentious and his backstory sequence, AND DESIGN. Not disappointed, had the right amount of emotion to accompany it. I would have much rather preferred, honestly, if they’d instead saved the suspense for much later down the line in the series, even season 4, to really fledge out his character with a full episode dedicated to him and him only- maybe even tying in to Mimzy and Husk’s deal with Al in life- just imagine a full episode dedicated to his backstory from childhood which would explain his formation as a person and how he became to be such a serial killer and obsessed with the darkness (heck, I would’ve even taken the pure psychopath excuse for as to why he was so evil. Anything to explain his actions!)- with more show and less tell in exposition, with maybe a song of him in life and a reprise for a much more fleshed out death scene (c’mon, he deserves it) and finally that Rosie song at the end which ties in to his current situation. Not something so curt and short. Have we learned nothing from the mistakes of season 1? It was just… disappointing. I wish they would revise it but I’m afraid it’s much too late.
