it's nearly 5am. do u ever wonder about how class 1A first reacted to deku calling bkg "kacchan". like before they knew that the two had history. before they had a sliver of context though I imagine it just made things more confusing. just a teenage guy calling another teenage guy (who's incredibly rabid at the start of the series, entirely self absorbed, arrogant, and unapproachable) this adorable, childish pet name with very friendly, almost intimate connotations. and it's plain to see that they have the worst visible relationship known to man. there's nothing that sparks joy at the moment. this so-called "kacchan" is going to bite midoriya's head off but he doesn't tell midoriya to stop. like what the fuck. imagine being 1A. imagine being kirishima, day 1, hearing that for the first time. imagine what went through his head. this guy called bakugou what now? and he got away with it?

The new Boku No Hero Academia flower for AGF 2018, made with the theme “A Bouquet for a Present” features Deku, Bakugou, Ochako, Iida, Todoroki, and Kirishima giving flowers! I looked up the Japanese flower language for all these flowers, and here’s what each flower means:

Deku: green roses = richness, spirit, and growth

Bakugou: godetia = an unwavering passionate love and quiet happiness

Ochako: pink gerberas = fiery love, beauty, and growth

Iida: bluebells = a consistent heart and modesty

Todoroki: lily and chrysanthemum = devotion and deep love

Kirishima: red gerberas = burning mysterious love and moving forward

I would kinda like to make some corrections here because flower IDing is hard! Especially when they don’t actually tell you what the flowers are and some hard-to-find flowers have an even harder meaning to find (especially when they tell you to pay attention to what the flowers mean)! This is the site I mainly used btw!

Deku: I couldn’t find a meaning for green roses at first besides the western meaning for them until I dug deeper (had to look up as 緑色のバラ) and found his flowers also mean = “you can have hope”! Very Deku!

Bakugou: That’s not a godetia, those actually have the different color pattern (each petal is color-blocked by white all around). I had a hard time finding this one because finding natural coloration pattern like this is hard. But I finally found out that he might be holding a red dianthus with white, which = ingeniousness, talent. It’s Bakugou so, yeah.

Ochako: At first glance, they look like gerberas but the silhouette shows they’re actually 6-petal flowers. At first, I thought they might be pink anemones but they’re actually primrose! Primrose = early youth, young love, and “I can’t live without you”. I’m guessing it probably means the 1st or 2nd one since it’s Ochako we’re talking about.

Iida: this one is right! Thank you Iida for being consistent!

Todoroki: Flowers are right on this one too! It’s actually a casablanca lily (they have that eccentric curl) and it means majesty, purity, or noble. Red chrysanthemums can mean “I love you” but generally they can also = noble or nobility (due to their relation to the emperor). Together they end up making it seem like Todoroki is really princely? He does fit the ouji archetype in an aloof kind of way.

Kirishima: red gerberas also = passion! Very manly flowers!

I’m sorry for making this post longer but I love how the flowers actually correspond with the characters and wanted to go into detail about it!

Ohh thanks for the more in-depth information- it’s hard to tell the flowers! If Bakugou’s flower is a dianthus, here’s the definition of dianthus from Japanese Hanakotoba:

It represents boldness, a pure love, and child’s play (this one makes a lot of sense for Bakugou imho haha).
