Marvel in amazement as a modern piece of He-Man media DARES to ask the bold and innovative question "what if we DIDN'T base Fisto solely around an unfunny joke about his name and let him actually just exist as a character???????????" Pause halfway through the episode and go "wait a second is this a mashup of The Arena and The Games or is it just The Arena with the Fisto element from The Games?" Congratulate whoever had Om returning on their Tales from Eternia bingo card!

We've also got HE-MAN ISN'T THERE???, released a few days ago, which the Mattel Adventures channel has generously decided to label as a "clip" of the first episode despite it being half of the first episode's length? So if you're in a rush and only have time to watch a 2 minute He-Man YouTube cartoon instead of a 4 minute He-Man cartoon, Mattel Adventures has got your back 👍 unless you require subtitles because inexplicably despite the subtitles already existing for this clip it only has automatic captioning. huh.

Cross your fingers and hope we get some more one-off Filmation characters returning in the future (Bowena pleaseeeeee I miss youuuuuuu) on this double-feature

In my fanfic series, Teela's sister group to the Masters is taking shape. The only thing they lack is a group name (Mistresses of the Universe is a non-starter, Teela HATES that name).

Ileena - brave aspirant from the Northern Territories, currently training as a potential Royal Guard officer. Awarded the Eternian Medal of Gallantry for saving Captain Teela's life in Arcadia

Kittrina - member of the Cat Folk of the Vine Jungle, warrior and special agent to King Paw. Liable to flirt with any woman she sees (especially blonde Princesses).

Sibyline - formerly evil sorceress of the Isle of Tears. After three years of undoing the damage she caused to the island, looking to become more proactive and do good across Eternia. Ex-consort of Evil-lyn.

Celice - possessed of magical singing powers, formerly guardian of the city of Tahryn. Now seeking purpose after her hereditary duty was fulfilled.

Hawke - disgraced Bird Woman of Avion, recommended to the team by Lord Stratos. Allowed to seek a true second chance through swearing the team's oath, but some reservations regarding her sincerity remain...

Princess Janice of Morainia - intelligence contact and remote strategy consultant.

Evelyn Powers of Arcadia - the former Evil-lyn has settled into a peaceful new life after saving a young woman from being attacked in the slums of the formerly isolationist city. For her actions in aiding both Captain Teela and Ileena in the aforementioned incident, agents of King Randor will not pursue action against the fugitive criminal outside of Eternos, though she has not been pardoned for her crimes. Though she has abandoned her villainous ways, Evelyn is still dangerous if provoked and values her independence above all else, refusing to kneel before any authority.

So suffice it to say, I am very excited for the movie opening this weekend.

BUT THEN THERE'S DIAN. She's a member of the Eternian Royal Guard, she gets some very prominent sequences in the final battle, in all she's on par with Ram Man and Fisto in terms of story importance. And eclipses Moss Man, who in is in some MOTU continuities a minor deity. Anyhow, I didn't know the character and figured she was an original creation.

Until I got home and pulled out my Character Guide & World Compendium (which a few people I knew back in the day worked on). It turns out that Dian is a Royal Guardsman from the newspaper comic strip. Which is, admittedly, sounds about right for how deep you have to go to find female warriors in this franchise that didn't debut in She-Ra.

But hats off to the writers on that one.
