Billowing coat paints imposing appearance, wind whipping its tails to give a style of DRAMATIC EFFECT ;  but it’s not nearly as menacing as his folded arms & deep scowl— once the ship lands in the hangar jack waits, waits, watches the bay door open, his expression - SOMEHOW - darkening further once blue eyes catch sight of gabriel stepping off ;

       no welcome back, no how’d it go—just four words in tone that leaves no room for rejection :

                                              “ we need to talk. ”

Gabriel had a feeling this last mission was going to be complicated, and he was right but he had managed to do it regardless of not playing alongside the rules, thing that wasn’t new at all. 

When he arrived back at the base, he was half expecting to see a blonde figure waiting for him, but he wasn’t expecting such a serious welcome, looks like Gabe messed up big time.

“Oh, I stress bake, so I’ve gotten pretty good at comfort sweets.” Comfort sweets and comfort food and pretty anything that could be shoved in an oven.

She grinned, taking a seat finally and watching. It was nice when people enjoyed your baking- granted these were tried and true recipes, but people were sometimes funny about their deserts. Some liked theirs crispy and others liked soft ones that broke apart but didn’t crumble. 

“Would you like a moment alone with the bag?” She teased, “I can step outside.”

“I’m willing to take a plane and visit you whenever you’re stress baking, these cookies are worth it.” Gabriel said as he kept on munching at the cookies as if he hadn’t eaten in forever, only thing he hoped is that eating too much wouldn’t fat him up sooner or later.

A small smirk formed on her face. “Bother? You should be thanking me, Gabe, for giving you a distraction from all that boring paperwork.”

She leaned in closer, peering over his shoulder at the files on his desk. “You’re always so uptight. Don’t you ever do anything besides work?”

Reaper: Not everything is so cut-and-dry, Jack.

Soldier: Selling out our family for your own personal gain seems pretty cut-and-dry to me.

Reaper: With or without me, there was no stopping this.

Soldier: But you played a part; And just like everything else you've ever done, it's made people suffer.

“    ..but what she recommends is becoming ineffective. i’ve noticed an insufficient plateau in my performance and i’m not sure how much doctor ziegler has to offer. perhaps i could be traded between her and another doctor, then? ”
