I'm ramming my head against the chapter 5 secret boss right now, and yeah I noticed about halfway through chapter 4 that he didn't follow us to the church darkworld. And yeah, it's good. He had this arc of trying to win over and over, and even had a stab at romance, but he's finally seemingly mellowed out. I think it'd be nice to have him along as an ally for something only he can do, but his purpose as a repeat miniboss seems pretty complete.
