ALBUM NUMBER FOUR: the garages kill the gods- The Garages

Ugh it's so obvious that I have favorite songs in all of these albums istg

I wanted this one to be brighter but also have more depth because that's how the songs felt to me

Fans of the Houston Spies, a fictional baseball team, ran a workshop on how to organise your workplace yesterday. It was based on the IWW’s workplace organising training and went really well. (I helped.)

This is really wild. I’ve never seen fandoms mobilise to do this sort of thing before and the response was amazing. Blaseball’s official twitter retweeted the announcement,  an official IWW branch signal boosted the thank you message. We got almost a hundred people signed up for it. I really hope that this is a portent for what Fandom can be.

After all, this stuff is all about shared communities, shared mythologies, collaborating and telling each other stories. Let’s teach each other to take control of our workplaces, our local communities, and our lives.

If the right can organise online, so can we.

And we’re better at it.

Since we're coming up on one year since Blaseball returned, and I've been posting about all of the testing data that was pulled from the website, I thought it might be fun to talk about when the website accidentally went live prior to launch.

On January 4th, 2022, and flooded by Internal Error:, the Blaseball website briefly went live, showing off the newly-made website, and perhaps more interestingly, a glimpse at games in progress.

Thrown into the middle of an unknown season, we were shown the state of the game as of Day 52, and shown a different-looking overview screen as opposed to what we actually got when the game launched.

Aside from the interesting graphic that showed above the games, we can see that every game was scheduled as occurring underneath Blood Rain, a weather that didn't make the jump into the Blaseball we got to see.

Another fun aspect of this sim that we got to see were the players.

When Blaseball went live, every team was offered four new players, on top of the ten that they received in Fall Ball. Here, the same was true, though the players that each team got were not the same as what we actually got.

In this instance, here are the players each team received as completely new faces.

To join all of these players lost to the sands of testing, there were a number of returning faces that were scattered throughout the league. Be it from Horizon weather or otherwise, some players ended up as scrambled as their former teammates in Beta:

Ultimately, the website was promptly shut down, and this simulation went quiet until the game actually launched, and all of the players listed out here were either wiped away, or returned to their proper place in the hole.

Thanks to Astrid for saving the rosters - while some teams like the Georgias, Sunbeams and Crabs were captured by her, Agent Moon, and beiju respectively, not every team had pictures saved, so the files were necessary to see them!

Welcome to Blaseday Fan Fest 2026!

Blaseday Fan Fest is a Blaseball fan event that I'm running to celebrate the sixth anniversary of the Return of Blaseball, incorporating fanwork prompts and a game rewatch as well as a poll-based "election"! Everyone is welcome to join in!

The event will take place on July 20 (Blaseball's sixth blirthday), with live group watch and fanwork submission on that date, though election polls will be posted one week before to allow the results to be released on 7/20. The (loose) deadline for fanworks is any time on July 20, 2026, anywhere on the immaterial plane. To submit works, post them (or a link) by that date and use the tag #BDFF26 work so they can be reblogged to this page! Also, #BDFF26 info will be the general info tag for the event.
