“not really. why do you want to move?“

“It just seems like a good plan. People are so stupidly nice there, it’s like almost too nice that it’s fake, but it’s not fake. Every Canadian I’ve ever met are like, the nicest people ever.”

“Honestly? That’s been plan, like, F since I was twelve.”

“Dang, seriously?”

“What makes you think they’re any different than the people here?” she asked gently. Genesis wasn’t sure if this was all based off of a stereotypes or not but she wanted to hear the reasoning, she was interested.

“They have free healthcare, which is something people here seem to think will harm the population somehow, when they’re really just keeping people from lifesaving medications and forcing them to die, so like... That’s pretty nice.” She sighed, “And they helped people when 9/11 happened, they let planes reroute to there and helped them and let them stay and took care of them and stuff. And they’re always just so nice looking. And tolerant.”

“Sometimes, but I’d pick somewhere way cooler than Canada to move to.”

“Canada’s not cool?”

“it snows in america too. they seem nice, but i dunno if they actually are. plus you’d have to wait years to get the healthcare ‘cause you’d be waiting on the canadian citizen.”

“yeah, i guess. the big one is the free healthcare, really.” she shrugged, looking over to her younger sister. “damn, that’s probably true. maybe i’ll marry a canadian and get citizenship that way.”

“why canada? i’ve thought about moving, but never to canada.”

“i mean, for starters they don’t have a dorito for their president.”

“nope. i haven’t thought about moving before ‘cause my family’s here.”

“i guess that makes sense, yeah.” she laughed, not really able to relate. she’d wanted to move away from her family since she was much younger than penny.

cherry was walking out of the store to her car, bags of groceries on her arms. one hand holding her keys to unlock the door and the other holding her phone. too busy typing away, she doesn’t realize when one of her heels snaps out from under her. “oh fuck ! “ she exclaims, without considering who’s around, her fall sends her keys and phone flying. 

kieran happened to catch the girl falling in the parking lot and was glad she’d left jaelyn at home that morning. “oh shoot, are you okay?” she asked, hurrying over to help the girl pick up her stuff.

“Maybe when I was your age but now, no. Why do you ask?”

“It just sounds more and more like a good idea as I think about it.” she shrugged. “People seem so nice there.”

this is kieran, she’s 19 & has an (almost) three year old daughter named jaelyn

she is extremely protective over her since her ex walked out on them once he found out she was pregnant.

he was 18 and she was 15 and he wanted nothing to do with her or the baby. he was on track to being a big time lawyer like the rest of his family, and was convinced that she and their child would keep him from those dreams.

to her knowledge he never told his parents about the baby, but his parents had always disliked her because they thought she was using them for their money even though she couldn’t care less about their dumb family name

they were the kind of people who were RLY into upholding their reputation and shit so their precious angel son having a 15 year old pregnant girlfriend who he wasn’t married to would NOT be something they were happy about at all. she’ll always blame them for her bf leaving her bc she knows thats prob the majority of the reason why he abandoned them

this breakup still really messed her up bc she always thought they’d get married and shit and live in the house with the white picket fence and 3 dogs and 2.5 kids and he’d be a lawyer and she’d be the perfect homeschooling stay at home mom but.... that never happened and now she’s here

ANYWAY this was all before they even moved to hillsboro.

when her daughter jaelyn was born she decided to use her own last name rather than her ex’s because she doesn’t want her baby associated with them and she knew it would cause lots of drama if they found out she’d used their last name without their consent

she is lowkey named after the father though bc her name is jaelyn and his name was jason so it’s like..... kinda the same but not super the same

after the breakup she was spending more time at home, which was the one place she hated being because of her step-dad who was !!!!! abusive

she hated this guy more than ANYTHIGN even more than her ex’s parents and she hated them a LOT OK

she put up with their shit until 1 day when he got 2 close to her for comfort after jaelyn accidentally broke somethin in the house. the two of em were yellin @ each other & he almost hit her and she LOST IT ok she called the cops on him & got him arrested which sent her mom for a LOOP she was pissed @ her 

enough to send her and brooklyn to live with their bio dad & now they’re here in hillsboro & she’s just tryin 2 provide for her daughter & her sister & herself, pay all her medical bills, & try to not get too close to her dad & step-mom bc she’s highkey scared they’re gonna get rod of them too bc she has #trust issues now that their own mom got rid of them

also this doesn’t fit anywhere up there but she has type 1 diabetes so she’s always watching out for that & she is rly into exercise and healthy eating & stuff 

but she tries not to rub it in ur face like those obnoxious vegans u kno what im talkin about
