“ sometimes i forget how much we have in common, cher. i love how alike we are. ” the sentiment was sweet, and taz meant every word of it, but she might have been blinded by their intoxicated relationship versus their sober relationship. when they were partying together, cherry and taz had everything in common. but when cherry got sober and started talking about her money and her jewels, taz had a hard time following. “ let’s definitely get more alcohol. and i’ll get the weed, obviously. i think we’re good to go. ”

she grinned, “it’s truly a blessing to those around us !” their friendship was based purely off the fact that they both liked to party and got on well enough. but cherry didn’t mind all too much, she liked a good time and good company. and although she wasn’t too keen on weed, but when in rome, right ? “oh definitely, i’ll make sure word gets out if it wasn’t already assumed.”

anastasia figured it’d be best to play oblivious in this situation, flipping her hair with a big smile when cherry mentioned her empty mansion. “ they always have the perfect timing, don’t they?? ” she raised an eyebrow as she looked at her friend, forgetting all about the tension that’d been between them only a moment ago. now, her excitement was overwhelming. “ oh my god, we need to get hats and those noise makers. we need it all. i can’t wait to be passed out on your expensive marble floors by the end of the night. ”  

cherry smiled in agreement. the great thing about her and her sisters being so close in age is that they find their own parties to get blasted on new year’s eve at. “they sure do,” she laughed. cherry already anticipated the other girl would ask her to throw and she came prepared. “i’ve got that and those 2018 glasses. also a ‘happy new year, bitches’ banner. i’m gonna’ try and find those confetti poppers and like about twelve more bottles of champagne at walmart.” the twelve is more or less an overexaggeration, but if she happened to find a bulk-box of alcohol, she wouldn’t not pick it up. “i wanna’ have the best night i’ll never remember to start 2018.”

“so i’ve heard,” she replied with a small smile. she thought of her own childhood quickly before focusing more on the present. roselyn nodded, knowing that curiosity did indeed kill the cat. “people must be asking a lot of questions, but i guess i make it worse when i don’t answer them. i just…don’t like my private life out in the open.” rosie agreed, “yeah, it’s beautiful here. sometimes you need a change, you know?” 

she nods, “it’s understandable to want to keep things private, i’d like to think i’m one of the more curiouser of the lot, but i could be wrong.” cherry shrugs, “i totally get the need for change. personally i don’t think i could leave this place, but that’s just me.” cherry wasn’t much for change only considering the drastic changes in her life haven’t been too positive.

anastasia was giving cherry an unintentional ‘ ARE - YOU - DONE - YET ? ’ kind of look ( that she did her best to stifle ) as she rambled on about her jewelry and the things her mom had bought her. it always got awkward when the topic came up, which it often did, because taz couldn’t relate and had nothing more than a few nods and fake enthusiastic “ wow!!!’s ” to contribute to the conversation. she stayed silent for a moment after cherry had finished her thrilling story, just in case she came up with any last thoughts to tack onto the end of it. “ COOL. so do you wanna throw a party or something for new years eve? ”

in the awkward moment of silence, cherry’s lips pressed into a thin line, realizing she had taken over the conversation with a touchy subject. for the most part, it was unintentional, cherry just thought it was a funny story to share. shaking off the subject and following anastasia’s lead, she nodded and grinned. “yeah, of course ! the sisters are doing their own thing and my mom’s at some family friend’s so the house is empty and available.”

“i always wanted siblings,” she admitted but was rather thankful that she actually didn’t. it was better that way. a small smile formed on roselyn’s lips, knowing that this was the question plaguing many minds in augustine. “fresh meat,” she replied with a laugh. “wanted a beach town, there was an opening for work. kind of stupid not to move here,” she stated vaguely. 

“oh they’re such pest when they’re younger-- not to mention when they’re close enough in age to steal literally everything you own,” cherry adds, she’s laughing, but there’s been many tops and pairs of shoes that have mysteriously disappeared from her closet only to reappear in another sister’s room. she shrugged admittingly, “curiosity killed the cat.” it was a relatively small town so when someone new came along, people always wanted to know why. “yeah, i see that. and with three beaches, there’s not really a reason to say no.”

“oh shut your beautiful trap, you know i’m only pulling on your leg,” she scoffed before giving her a solid nod. “you bet your sweet ass that it’s not, but hey, it’s what we got,” she said with a clap. “i don’t know what shit you’re muttering but the walmart selection of food is decadent,” she said sarcastically. 

she grinned and nodded, knowing bowie usually meant comments like that to keep cherry from getting too into herself. the brunette chuckled at the other’s comment and rolled her eyes, “as decadent as a five-dollar foot long, my love. --speaking of, a girl could really go for one of those right about now.”

liam grins when he realizes it’s cherry. “i think i can make an exception,” he says, as he reaches for some vodka. he makes himself a drink alongside hers, thinking it won’t do any harm since it’s the end of the night and he doesn’t really need to be anywhere else anyway. “cheers,” he raises his glass up towards hers, before downing the drink.

she grins as she hops up and takes a seat across from him, placing the clutch on the countertop and picking up her drink. “cheers !” she returns before taking a sip of her drink and then placing it back softly on the coaster. “tough shift tonight ? you didn’t seem too keen when you heard me walk in.”

“kind of fucked up that you’re judged by the value of the things you own, instead of who you are.” sam observes. “i’m glad you don’t have to do it anymore, though. because you know, you’re pretty cool… in my book, anyways.” she averts her gaze from the brunette as she compliments her watch, feeling the familiar flush take over her cheeks. “yeah, it’s you know… an old thing. my dad gave it to me when i was eight.”

“should i even know that?” chase rubbed at his eyes, “why is jewelry so confusing? honestly, sometimes i see the stuff at walmart and don’t see a difference.”

cherry shrugs, not knowing the exact answer to his question. putting a hand to her necklace, she feigns offence. “i think you could’ve never hurt my feelings more than you did just now,” she shoots back jokingly
