「 “ Hence the ‘sometimes’, – ” he doesn’t mean anything bad with it, though, and lately their banters have been nothing but harmless –– Shinichi doesn’t have much of a harsh tone anymore, and in turn, KID is trying to be honest as they can possibly allow themselves to be around him ( for that, he can’t bring himself to break that trust, which is another added reason for why he doesn’t chase after the thief’s identity like the rest of the world seems to do ).
Shinichi does admit ( and he’s pretty sure that KID is aware of it ) that after finding out the other shared the same feeling as he did, emotions have been affected considerably over time. Seeing their expression turning serious, he can tell that, even after joking a bit at the beginning, KID does mean what they say, and Shinichi can’t deny that a yearning sensation exists somewhere deep inside.
His brief moment of hesitancy is probably telling, but he uncovers his face from his unsuccessful makeshift ‘shield’, still blushing profusely. “ Fine. I trust you. But I don’t really have any experience… - ” 」
in all honesty, he hadn’t really expected acceptance. he had prepared for it, of course ( he’s always prepared for anything ), but he hadn’t expected it. ( the slight widening of his eyes was probably tell enough. )
any surprise, however, is washed away by a wave of affection and warmth. the tips of his ears are probably a little red, but thankfully they are hidden beneath his hair, but he’s sure that it’s obvious he’s...happy. ( if that’s the word for it. )
‘ it’s fine, ’ he says in attempt to dismiss his worries, but the slight swallow is telling, even as he attempts to chuckle it off. ‘ i mean, it’s not like i have experience either, so as long neither have us have great expectations... ’
