Whenever I see an art piece or poem that brings up a feeling of discomfort, repulsion, or disgust in me, I see it as an opportunity to explore myself better. Why does this make me uncomfortable? I can see her period blood, her pregnant belly, her breasts, I read of her experience with sexual assault or losing her love and I felt - cringe. I don't like it, should avoid it. Why? I was taught that periods are disgusting. I was taught that pregnancy is to be avoided at all costs. I was taught that sexuality and sensuality is impure, even evil in its temptations toward sin. Everything in my environment teaches me to avoid sexual assault, the abusers as well as victims of it, the clothing and behavior and choices that can invite it in. I'm also afraid to lose those whom I love, because I was taught that I am weak without them. Ah, I see now. That disgust isn't who I am, it's what I was taught. And once I flush it out into the light and see it for what it is, I join Kali in severing its head, its power, from me. So I thank the art piece, poem, essay, or song for bringing up this discomfort, so that I may continuing removing these layers, healing myself and our Mother in turn. ❤️
Every day we have the opportunity to journey into and through our wombs, our power source, to heal and gain insight. Separation, surrender, renewal, vision, clarity… this is the process of meditation. Separate from busy life. Surrender mind and body to stillness and spiritual devition. Renew your vows to yourself, all of your selves, your soul, and guides. Renew your energy with the Earth and Sun. Vision to see clearly the path, the guidance, the synchronicities, the healing, the purpose, etc. Clarity is gained, go forth and serve.
Every day we have the opportunity to empathize with the Mother, to feel with her the pain and rage of what has occurred on the Earth, to our bodies. If we shut out this empathy, it will find us eventually, right in our womb space, our well of power and emotion. Empathy doesn’t require us to feel angry all the time, witnessing the sensation and moving it throughout, through then out the body is a healing service. Otherwise, wisdom wasted, pain and rage ensures. No more. Every day I witness this and help heal us. So it is.
Every day we have the opportunity to journey through our inter seasons. Cycles on cycles, concentric and intertwined. Morning for spring, midday for summer, evening for autumn, and night for winter. Layers and layers these patterns reflect all over time and space.
I believe in my body’s ability to change, grow, heal, evolve, teach, just as the Earth does. With these amazing wisdoms that help me dissolve my layers around my own cycles, I hope to bring balance to my body, and Mama’s body as well. So it is.
Sometimes it feels like there are more layers over me to remove than there is of actual me underneath. Who am I? Does she already exist, or am I creating her? In these times it’s helpful to remember that we are not meant to just sit on our pillows in a dark room working on ourselves. We also get to live our growing selves, have experiences, that show us our growth and further opportunities to grow (what else is possible, Spirit?), and actively work on ourselves with others and helping them do the same; all this learning and growing isn’t meant for just us.
How would it feel to have a master that knew you not? Misunderstood you. Unknowingly, or knowingly, harm you. Speak ill of you due to those misunderstandings. How would you react?
Kid me has had her fair share of this kind of relationship. When we weren’t withering in hopelessness, we were raging at these “caretakers”.
So where is this pattern repeating?
In my relationship to my body. I claim to be afraid of my body, what it can do to put me in so much pain, and sometimes those pains are great enough to have me withering in hopelessness. Other times I rage at my body, when she’s just trying to send messages to me.
But as our communication has strengthened, for I have learned to love my dear body, a discovery has been made. This body is an instrument, and as such I can tune her towards health and wellness. To absorb certain nutrients. Flush certain toxins. Work with a schedule.
Likewise she teaches me, directs me through lessons in love, patience, communication, energy, curiosity, hilarity, generosity, sensuality, creativity, and so on. And for this I am so very grateful.

The hierarchy is one of the most volatile layers of this society. It does us no good, the earth no good. A hierarchy benefits by keeping those most powerful near the bottom: us. But ensures we still feel powerful enough by ranking us above each other, above the inhabitants of the earth, and the earth herself, to keep the layer going. We perpetuate layers we haven't actively dissolved. By recognizing where hierarchies impact us, where we've come to integrate this limiting belief within ourselves, we can begin to dissolve it.
I am no better than every rock, leaf, bug, water droplet. I am also as powerful as the mightiest “deity”, a manifestation of the earth's ability to learn and heal. And so I shall use my gifts, my power, and the power of guidance from my fellow earth inhabitants, spirit guides, eternal self, to help heal the earth. And so it is!
And so our path, be it meandering and scenic, is made a bit clearer. Trust your gut. Keep learning, dissolving, growing, refining, expanding. Fear not what seem like mistakes. How special are we to have been born at all, let alone to have come here intentionally to co-create the New Earth, to be guided in Love doing so, to build community and teach so that the Earth may be stewarded in Love long after these bones are dirt. I forgive myself for my harsh words in a lapse of trust and optimism. How grateful I am to have had help in pivoting my gaze. Patience and courage, dedication and trust all will be needed on this new path as I meander, am tested, learn, misfire, and witness miracles. My physical instrument, beloved body, is essential and so we must purify her, mind too, of layers, toxins, things, not serving, fine tune her, love and be soft with her. And so it is!
The Girl They Called a Mistake
On the day autumn greeted the world, a baby girl took her first breath.
She was the most perfect thing that could ever come to be, a mistake they called her.
How lucky we are to have such a miracle, the best kind of accident.
Bliss and baby fat mixing poorly with barf and burdens.
She'll be just what we want her to.
Pink and frills, earrings on a 6 month old.
But baby seems to disagree.
Why won't she grow hair?
Well she was a mistake anyway, never intended,
never accounted for being an individual.

I am sensitive. That's something we've heard before, but what happens when we admit the details? I well up when someone critiques my cooking. I get angry when people assume incorrect things about me. My libido shuts down if my Ăntimate touch gets corrected. Sometimes when I bump my head on something, I whack the thing back in a brief but surprisingly powerful burst of rage, usually hurting myself a second time. I go into manipulation mode when something I need or want is threatened, specifically using victimization. That's not very grown or mature is it? Sure it is. I'm choosing to shine the lantern on these darker corners of myself, rather than hope or pretend they will 'naturally fade' as my spirituality is expanded. My inner kid will always be there, showing me the places we still have the opportunity to heal. My inner crone is also here, I have awakened her wisdom by recognizing and acknowledging her existence within me. Together, the three of us can look at these sensitivities with curiosity. I wonder why I feel this way. And if we discover that behind this reaction lies a wound, or layer, or limiting belief, then into the depths of that place we go. Maybe we grieve with inner child, or rage with the Mother, or recognize our truth beneath illusion, or forgive ourselves. The possibilities are as vast as our sensitivities. For as we heal, our sensitive nature blossoms into the gift we keep being told it can be. Not to wallow, but truly empathize: the action of loving.
