Jayden's shark hybridity does not apply to a specific shark species, he is a composite hodgepodge of mainly hammerhead, tiger and thresher (sea fox) sharks.
What distinguishes Jayden from a human is his larger height and build. I think he's the same height as Mane and Mane is a fucking hefty two-Vandam frame. But unlike the lion and his tiger bro, Jaden's physique is a little less even.
Kinda.
He's broad-shouldered, but his forearms are stronger than his shoulders and better developed, and his pelvis is almost "feminine," so no matter how fucked up it sounds, he has a waist and it's fucking great.
From hammerhead sharks, Jaden has maneuverability (read it like "the ability to fit into turns at ungodly high speed and not lose balance at the same time and keep going") and reaction speed. To this is added to the ability to quickly gain speed from the thresher skarks. Also from the sea fox Jayden got a lot in terms of movements.
Fox sharks are called "thrashers" for the reason that they use their long tail like a whip and this shit has enough speed and application force not just to break the victim's bones, but to shatter them - Jayden relies heavily on his speed and maneuverability in this sense but if the shark doesn't give a fuck about how vulnerable the range will make her - Jaden takes a lot of risks all the time (ruptured axillary arteries are always fatal, kids, aim in and protect them)
Jayden has strengh from the tiger shark and its that kind that dosen't needs to be applied, it's his own (like Wembu's snake-like flexibility). Also he got really good face memory from tiger sharks - Jay may not remember the name of someone, but he remembers faces well and forgets them with great difficulty and creak lol.
In addition to these features, Jaden also has visual hybridity features. For example, he has gills and they are quite functional but he cannot open and close them like a fish and for sanitary and protective purposes he wears a mask (well, at first it was like that, and then for reasons of style).
Jaden also has large, sharp teeth and a frighteningly fucking serious jaw force (hello tiger and bull sharks).
I also think that besides the fact that Jayden's skin is very calloused and weathered from salt, sometimes darker stripes and spots appear on it, like tiger sharks one.
About the human part of Jaden.
Jaden's gait sways slightly - as with all pirates - this is noticeable only on land. However it would be a mistake to assume that because of this Jayden is easily knocked down - on the contrary, it takes a lot of effort to knock down the Pirate King.
And thats because of rocking.
The constant rocking of ships and even the swaying board bridges of Pirate Civ willy-nilly internal balance and vestibular apparatus gets used to that.
The same applies to body navigation in space. Jaden relies on triden-mace, which - like elitra-mace - requires serious skills and a sense of body position.
So knok even drop dead drunk Jaden is difficult with his reflex skills. Even more - it's almost death sentense to try and beat drunk capitan. He keeps his balance and grip in angles that difficult to just keep steady not alone to hit in it - and let's not start about his passive reaction speed and strength, this man is beast sometimes

Sometimes I remember the epic romance "we were written in the stars" of Vegetta777 and Foolish Gamers... and then I get sad. They never got reunited :(
Sharks can be jealous (especially lemon and tiger sharks, since they are able to recognize divers they already knows) - Jaden does not intend to share Wemmbu with anyone. He is just scratched by other people's eyes on Wemmbu, so they have a moment tet-a-tet.

a chapter from eggchan's lore book on: pirate superstitions
or: jaden and wemmbu through eggchan's perspective (a mini drabble)
wemmbu did not find pirate superstition all that interesting, but egg felt it was very important for the lore book. like a good friend and fantastic scholar of the unstable smp, he took it upon himself to ensure this arduous task of lore-keeping goes well documented, so here's a list of all recorded instances of their superstitions.
pirate superstition #1: if your lips have kissed the ocean's waters, a mere whisper can travel through the waves, your message carried out by all sea creatures and life.
who knew some of the pirates they met along the way believed in romantic supersitions. wemmbu chalks it up to coincidence, but egg pointed out that law officers had them pinned to the shoreline just as the waves were passing by and suddenly jaden shows up. then they spend a good minute underwater looking for the collector, ouroboroid, and they managed to find the entrance to his base.
there's a bunch of other things that he learned when wemmbu gets back. that one time jaden got himself held for ransom and he returned seemingly drenched. he says it's from the rain which, last he checked, was part of this pretty cool process called the water cycle, so he's somewhat sure that it counts for the ocean's waters.
there's this other time wemmbu was running low on healing and his attacks barely did any damage, and he was so far away from the great sea and jaden, there was no way it worked. but apparently for the pirate king, you don't really need the ocean to deliver a message. in his words, just call for him and he'll come down falling like a thunderbolt. that was so aura, he had to put it in the lore book.
pirate superstition #2: tossing a shot of your liquor to the sea grants you endless treasures!
he supposes that as a pirate, you gotta drink. and he supposes that as a pirate, you gotta love treasure. that's why there's so many taverns scattered across the sea, at least that's what he got from linnwyrm. plus, that tavern by the marketplace seemed to partake in this tradition.
he supposes that, in the time wemmbu was invisible, the ocean rangers base became their treasure (because both of them stole it, technically). in some corny way, their friendship had to be treasure too, seeing how jaden is going through the motions of keeping him safe. so he supposes that while the base his pirate civilization didn't last long, there must be something else keeping him close.
there's another time they got really drunk. they had high alcohol tolerance so for them to engage in a friendly drinking competition meant so much money spent on liquor. but the return investment seems worthwhile? at least, that's what jaden says, but what exactly he's getting, they're not sure. this seems to be the only thing wemmbu half-jokingly believes in, since it led him to some of his greater weapons.
pirate superstition #3: if you gotta claim something, make sure you reveal it in some grand gesture.
he made that up. the actual superstition says something about claiming stuff, but there's only so much he can put on a page so this'll do. claiming means anything. something is yours to have or for only you to use, that kind of stuff. the grand gesture wasn't all that much what they said, but egg attributes that at least to whatever those two got going on.
he heard from wemmbu that jaden didn't need to join him in the caves kingdom. he just did it anyway. if that's not a grand gesture or some kind of claim on wemmbu then he doesn't know what could be. bro could claim that his loyalty belonged to wemmbu which is a pretty big thing for a pirate. he thinks it's sweet, wemmbu thinks it doesn't mean anything. (note to self: "you're my crew" is also a claim? whoa.)
there's also a rumor that wemmbu claimed jaden at some point. apparently a kiss counts as a gesture, but wemmbu's insistent that it didn't matter if it was through cloth and it wasn't even a proper kiss. he goes on about how they were just trying to escape some people hunting the pirate down and this was a pretty good distraction. jaden not saying anything about that didn't help their case at all, so everyone just believed that wemmbu did claim him.
pirate superstition #4: a captain's ship is very important so always keep it clean!
it might just be proper etiquette or a fear of scurvy that you gotta keep your ship clean. otherwise a lot of your pirates will be bored while at sea. he doesn't even know how to phrase it as a superstition so here's what's probably just a good tip. apparently these pirates had an extreme version, where if for whatever reason a pirate's ship is destroyed, there will be a great accident waiting to happen to your crew.
it should probably go unsaid what happened to jaden's pirate civilization, and what happened to egg and wemmbu after the law. they weren't exactly pirates but with how these logs are going, they might as well record it in the lore book. but there's no way to verify if this state of karmic justice can be reset by getting a new ship or appeasing the pirate gods, but if there is, surely jaden found a way by now.
although there is this one time, something he heard a while back, how wemmbu lit up jaden's old pirate ship. neither of them recall it, but somehow a large number of people remember it well. the story goes that wemmbu was trying to make an escape and accidentally set the ship on fire. what he was doing there, he had no idea. and why neither of them can recall that event, he will never know. he'll have to mark it as an unsolvable mystery, then.
pirate superstition #5: lanterns always light the way back to the place you long for the most.
he never noticed it before, but jaden kept his pirate civilization pretty well lit. he didn't think he would be the type to keep up the aesthetics, but apparently it was more superstition. lighting the way meant lighting the way home.
he remembers their first time venturing to his civilization. they used a neat signal thing with the lanterns, somehow communicating through the rain and fog. he never got to see more of that, but the other places in the great sea like lynn's base and the tavern made use of them. in a way, he supposes that anyone who's been out and needed some kind of direction back would need some kind of guiding light.
this one, wemmbu can actually find practical. there was one time he got separated from jaden and he was lucky to remember this superstition. either that or the temporary base he infiltrated already had lanterns. either way, it was supposed to guide jaden back, and after a few days, he came back. neither of them will tell egg how that went, other than it happened. at least jaden agrees it's a nice sentiment.
jaden overstimulating wemmbu by eating her out for hours and making her cum over and over again until his entire face is soaked in her slick and sheâs completely overwhelmed
and then, only then, does he fuck her, pushing her to her limits all while whispering praises in her ear about how good sheâs being and how much he loves her
uuuuuugghhhh yesssssss Jaden's hunger and greed knows no bounds nor limits when it comes to Wemmbu it's almost disgusting - he fucking obssesed with Wemmbu, with her body. He doesn't deserve all this gorgeous macabre goddess but when he DID deserve anything he have? Jaden is a pirate and pirates just take what they want and what they like.
Jaden do edgeing her, but never deniy Wemmbu's orgasm, in fact - cap 'll do anything to make her cum. Yet he won't stop here. Making Wemms cry out of overstimulation - kinda Jaden's way of marking, of saying that Wemmbu is his and his only, no one can make you fell so good as I do, love.
Cap'n not just praises Wemmbu - he got both rich imagination and rich vocabulary, so Jaden practical showers her in all kind of compliments of petnames to the point she's overstimulated not only phisicaly to the point that only Jaden's rhaspy and low out of pure disgusting want voise make Wemms body tremble.
Jaden is a lot, a realy intense "a lot" and he knows that so aftercare always mandatory - Wemmbu hates it since it alwyas makes her look weak, but loves it since Jaden at the end also disheveld snd shaken
In the Great Sea oh so far from the main server there are a lot less people that know Wemmbu, the Mace Monster.
Instead the name whispered in every tavern, murmured in every bar is Jadenman. King of the Pirates. The man who managed to gather together a civilisation of the most anarchist, ruthless and free players to ever step foot on the server and convince them serve under one banner
What it means is that even as glamorously decorated and brightly coloured as Wemmbu normally is by Jadens side he's practically invisible. All eyes are on the Pirate King, where he'll go next, what he's planning to do. Nobody will even spare a glance at the demon next him, deemed unimportant in face of such greatness
And if he builds a reputation as just another shiny treasure of Jadens? Another conquest brought back from the main server, or perhaps a rival ship? Well that's even better. Who would look twice at yet another treasure from the greatest pirate to sail the seven seas
Part of the reason Wemmbu falls in love with Jaden is because he treats Egg right.
People have an awful habit of passing over Egg. Treating him as useless or an extension of wemmbu, a hostage or an item of knowledge. Never as a person. Even Manepear knocked him off of the high branches treehouse multiple times.
Jaden never did that. He kidnapped him in the beginning, but that was before he ever knew Wemmbu, never knew Egg. After having so much time to think, in the abandonded civ, after the Flame debacle, after the invis knight incident, he treats Egg like his own thinking feeling being upon being brought into pirate civ. And that means more to wemmbu then Jaden will ever realise
Part of the Egg loves Jaden is because he treats Wemmbu right.
People treat Wemmbu as a weapon, something to be used and wielding. An object to point towards their enemies.
Jaden gives Wemmbu space to be soft. A place where eyes slide off him and land on the glittering shining King of the Pirates. Pirate Civ is a place where Wemmbu can relax. Eggchans safety isn't a burden to be constantly monitored and worried about. He's free to laze around all day in a downy soft bed sunken in with pillows, sunbathe on heated rock, wash his hair with high quality shampoos and conditioner, eat good food or run off on an adventure. He can do anything.
And egg will be forever thankful that Jaden has created this space where they can be themselves

washing dishes is evil because you go "oh fuck there's so many dishes this is gonna take foreverrr" and then you enter the dish abyss and emerge with your abdomen somehow covered in water and your hands all wrinky and then you look at the clock and what felt like half an hour was actually 10 minutes
re prev post....... I love love love the idea of Theon, Prophet of the Old Gods, for so many reasons. I think it works so well thematically, character development-wise, plot-wise. But certainly one of the reasons is the image of Stannis Baratheon being flanked by his two pet prophets: one an old woman who looks young, the other a young man who looks old; Mel having dedicated her life to serving R'hllor, being ironclad in her faith and her purpose, while Theon continues to insist "look, they're not even MY gods, I don't know why they're speaking to me, I don't know why any of this is happening."

checked out the bliss ao3 tag out of sheer boredom + curiosity and it got me thinking back on old analysis. there were obviously quite a few fics that centered on mugm's weapon v human conflict (its the most obviously sympathetic his character gets for nearly the entire plot so far so i wouldnt expect anything less LOL) but something i didnt see represented was like. his exact coping strategy for that?
something i saw a lot was a very straightforward inner struggle and internalization of being told hes a weaponâ"i'm a weapon, or am i not? i don't want to be, but maybe thats all i am." something of that sort. and while mugm does internalize that rhetoric i think there's further nuance to how it informs his thoughts and behaviors
in the august-november 2025-ish era where that was a reoccurring conflict for him, i felt like mugm struggled far more with cognitive dissonance than outright questioning. and when i say cognitive dissonance i mean very classic cognitive dissonanceâpsychological discomfort that arises from a conflict in a personâs behaviors, attitudes, or beliefs that runs contrary to their self-perception. in this case, mugm's internalized dehumanization (belief) runs contrary to his self-perception of someone who is confident, capable, and independent. in his mind, someone self-labeling as a weapon comes from deep insecurity, confusion, and lack of purpose, which he does not recognize in himself (even though those traits did exist within him at the time). he even expresses near-disgust at the concept of the weapon label, saying he "hates the trope [of thinking that way]" and expressing anger that nezo and puqi would call him that. but regardless, this dehumanization is internalized anyway, and he does believe it about himself despite rejecting it logically. i have a whole other post about it here blah blah blah not very relevant, all you needed to understand was that this cognitive dissonance exists (existed? it hasnt been revisted often because mugm isn't in an unstable environment where it would be triggered anymore. he did show dismissal of this period of his life, describing it as a "crisis" so im inclined to believe its somewhat internally resolved as of now)
when it comes to coping with cognitive dissonance, there are generally two paths people usually take. they either A) undergo a change of action to reflect their self-perception, or B) a change of belief to justify self-perception. one example is somebody who believes themselves to make healthy lifestyle choices, but smokes cigarettes. "A" would be working towards quitting smoking to reflect their self-perception of being a healthy person. "B" would be beginning to deny the science about the health dangers of smoking in order to justify the incongruityâ"i'm still a healthy person because it's not PROVEN that cigarettes are bad"
mugm 100% chose option B. his change of belief was the worth-value of other people. instead of contending with his own insecurities, he paints the rest of humanity with them and frames it as an objective fact. "everyone has ONE THING they're good for." this is what he tells nezo at the pedestal and what he tells wyll later. and this IS his coping strategy. by judging everyone this way, he doesn't need to think about his own dehumanization, because he's not unique anymore. it's just the way the world works, this is how people are. this is a mindset that escalates into him being able to call everyone ants, being able to definitively judge them as lesser-than or proclaim them sinners who are unworthy of their own gems and of bliss itself (because he views himselfâand wyllâas being Most Successful at their "one thing," and views their "one thing" as more valuable than other "one things," therefore they are better) and his feelings remain complex about it up to today, i think
yap kinda over thats kinda all i had to say. its just that this is a really interesting part of mugm's character during this time period i often saw misrepresented and/or simplified in some of the angst i saw. and i think it's really important to his cognition even moving forward so i wanted to talk about it a little

When the pairing is so good that it doesnât matter if you see it as romantic or platonic. What matters is that you see them and know that one is not complete without the other. Frequently bought together. Do not separate. If you separate them one of them will bite you
