Every time you catch yourself going, "Fuck, are humans just inherently evil and naturally inclined to selfishness and harm???" you HAVE to remember that that's literally a core ideal of Christianity.
So if it feels inescapable and like evidence of it is everywhere, whether at times or always, that might just because you're in a Western country where you're surrounded by Christians who believe that, fundamentally, in their worldview. And also they talk and make art about it all the time and run the vast majority of news outlets. And spent over a thousand years burning any art or texts that disagreed with them. Etc. etc.
If you're gonna come to as drastic and painful a conclusion as that, at least take the time first to make sure you're not working with biased evidence (surrounded by too many people and cultural products that believe original sin is real)
And if it turns out the feeling WAS partly the result of cultural Christianity, then hey, that's great news, because it means there's that much (and it really is SO MUCH) less evidence that humans inherently suck. Which is good, because we don't

please, write to staff and complain about the continual ban of trans women, especially if you're not a trans woman yourself. i'm under no illusion the equivalent of a strongly worded letter will stop them but they should at least know we're all seeing this and taking note
they think nobody cares outside of the relatively small group of trans women, and the even smaller group of outspoken transfeminist trans women, the ones primarily targeted, in part because enabling rampant transmisogyny for so long on this site has made it so it's not completely untrue. we should try and make it different. if you care in the slightest about the women being terminated -many of whom rely on this site for income- please say something about it
keep doing it even if some of the girls are back btw. 1-not all of them are and 2-this is a repeated pattern. they can do this anytime and they will keep doing it for as long as the rest of us allow it.

Patrick Ness, More Than This
Two paintings I made at the end of my last semester of college. 12 years ago now. Time is messed up.
compelled yesterday to make a zine about a lifetime of being a contrarian little shit sketched left-handed and inked right (ow)
Whoever wrote this, slayed so hard with all these statements, truer words have never been spoken

Bet it feels good as fuckkk to rest your hand on the pommel of your sword when the newcomer steps a little too close to your lord who you’ve sworn to protect with your life
CAPTURE CREATURE NO. 155: BRACKATACK
Brackatack offers traveling residences to a number of small creatures, including but not limited to the Puug family. Brackatack moves at a glacial pace, as it takes a huge amount of energy to stably move these towns from place to place, but they’re happy to do it in return for berries gathered by their cheerful residents. In times of danger or extreme weather they can curl into a ball, entirely concealing the village on its back. It can remain in this form for days at a time, giving their traveling pals some much needed time to relax.
i will never shut up about this game

breath of the wild was such a good game. its not its fault that it accidentally ruined the AAA gaming industry for awhile including its own sequel by tricking people into thinking that the Open World With Crafting element was the thing that made it good.
they really made a game where the fundamental appeal to it was the very physical way you were made to navigate and interact with the game's world as you discovered new places, where your ability to engage with the narrative hinged upon your ability to identify and seek out distinct landmarks of hyrule after a century of change. and then they were like. okay here's our sequel. remember all of that beautiful, breathtaking exploration you got to do? well no more of that. you're welcome! you can either crawl around in the dark between clusters of copypasted assets or drift aimlessly in the sky between clusters of copypasted assets. and you may say that sounds boring as fuck i don't want to have to walk between sets of copypasted assets. ohohoho... worry not my friend... you don't have to walk anywhere anymore. you can fornite drop out of the sky with a fan blade glued to a set of handlebars and never again have your ability to get from point A to point B impeded by any of that pesky """gameplay"". now get back to clipfarming korok torture devices
and if yooouuuuu can belive it - It's a friday once again
