I've been to the US as well and the difference between the best library in india and the the average library in the US is astronomically huge in every single aspect (funding, what collection is there to read, etc) and it is genuinely so self centered to just constantly uphold the sanctity of public libraries like they're the same everywhere

This is why the British government went so hard against the Palestine Action protestors who broke in and disrupted a weapons factory in Scotland btw. Western governments know they cannot continue their imperial project without these factories and shipping facilities.

To be clear, I'm not saying this to discourage anyone from taking action. I'm saying this is evidence that weapons factories and shipping facilities are vital to continuing the western imperial project.

worth pointing out that the whole "surreptitiously pretending to be bad at your job to slow things down" was a sabotage strategy utilized by slaves in the concentration camps of nazi germany and the plantation fields of antebellum america, who had no means to hide their identities and for whom open opposition to orders would be punished with immediate death, and the "needing extra paperwork" thing was a strategy by those in public offices in nazi germany who were opposed to the shoah, for whom abdication of duty would get them immediately put in the same concentration camps as targeted groups, who were engaged in other activities as well to assist the escape of targeted groups from the gestapo. to equate these positionalities to the positionalities of free citizens of a not-yet-fascist liberal state who can engage in black bloc and other opsec strategies to hide one's identity and who can quit jobs without being thrown in a death camp, is pretty heinous
