5 Celebs Who Would Make Perfect Partners for Keo Motsepe on Dancing with the Stars
It’s been a rough start to a Dancing with the Stars career for Keo Motsepe, beginning with a literal baptism of fire when he was paired with Lolo Jones. I like Lolo a lot. She is talented, gorgeous, hilarious and has a fighting spirit. But many people absolutely despise her, and that fact was evident when the public mistook her post-performance panic attack for a case of sour grapes and sent her packing in week one. Certainly not the auspicious debut I’m sure Keo was hoping for.
Last season saw him being paired with model Charlotte McKinney who had loads of potential, but just didn’t seem too keen on being there. This season, many of his fans were excited when it was announced that he’d been paired with funk legend Chaka Khan. She’s not young, but she’s got rhythm. And a huge fan base. So imagine our horror when Team Chakeo was booted after one week. Sigh... Â
I have come to the conclusion (and I’m sure many of you have, as well) that in order for our Prince to make it even halfway through a season, he needs to be partnered up with someone who’s young and/or young at heart, who’s an America’s sweetheart type, and who has a huge fan base - preferably also young and social media/tech savvy. Thus, I have come up with this list of five potential celeb partners who I think fit the bill.
Grace GealeyÂ
Yes, she’s a newby on the scene, but she’s on the biggest television show in recent history, Empire. Being young and beautiful doesn’t hurt, either.
Pros: She knows how to dance. I mean, legit Latin chops.
Cons: Nobody likes Boo Boo Kitty. And she’s got legit Latin chops, so there would be no end to the whining from certain factions about how her experience is an unfair advantage. To that I say, it’s about damn time something worked for Keo!
Tia Mowry
Classy and sassy, she would vibe very well with Keo’s laid back nature. I can imagine they’d laugh a LOT.
Pros: She has a long history in television and would bring that nostalgic factor. She’s also very active on social media and has a ton of followers, and she’s as hardworking as they come. Plus she can move (remember those cheerleading moves from Sister, Sister, or her moves in Seventeen Again?
Cons: Girlfriend stays booked. Does her schedule allow for the all-consuming nature of DWTS?
Tatyana AliÂ
Another 90s TV sweetheart, she’s been fairly MIA from the scene in too long. Everybody loved Ashley Banks and would love to see her kicking up her heels with a fine young thing like Keo.
Pros: Alfonso Ribeiro easily won his season, and he’d be right there to support her and rally up the votes. Plus Will Smith, the biggest movie star in the world, would be in her corner.
Cons: Alfonso Ribeiro easily won his season, and she’d be expected to do the same. The old comparison schtick, you see.
Bianca LawsonÂ
She is the least popular of the ladies on my list in terms of name recognition, but you’ve seen her in something, most likely playing a 16-year-old.
Pros: She is Beyonce’s stepsister. SHE. IS. BEYONCE’S. STEPSISTER.
Cons: I’m sorry, there is no con whatsoever that can negate the power of King Bey. Just ONE tweet would send her Hive scurrying to vote for Bianca and Keo.
Jasmine GuyÂ
The most seasoned candidate on my list, I think Whitley Gilbert’s still got it.
Pros: She’s got dance training and experience from back in the day. Plus she brings that nostalgia factor that DWTS fans eat up.
Cons: Can’t really think of any.
So, there’s my list. Do you agree with any of the suggestions? If not, who would you rather see Keo paired with?
