I don’t know if people realize how much activism these women did for gay right and during the aids crisis. If you think about it they were all long established in Hollywood and Broadway. They had tons of friends personally affected and dealing with the aids crisis. Estelle Getty lost a nephew. I think they helped plant seeds in people who watched Golden Girls that helped make things a little more normalized and mainstream.

Practical tip for those dealing with wildfire smoke now: you can make a very effective air filter for a reasonable amount of money using a box fan & one of those filters meant for your furnace.
Also, I've managed to pick up 2 of the box fans for very cheap/free from yard sales. Make sure you get a filter rated for wildfire smoke, I think this one cost about $20.
These make a huge difference in the indoor air quality.
Posting again because of the fire situation up in Canada and resulting smoke. If you're dealing with wildfire smoke, these are surprisingly effective and relatively cheap.
Just tape the filter to the fan, making sure the air can't sneak around the edges. I used painter's tape, but I'm sure duct tape or similar would work just as well.

One thing that Firefox can’t do is allow me to access my telehealth therapy appointments. Three different platforms now have rejected my use of Firefox. I use Safari instead bc that’s what works and at least it isn’t chrome, but for folks who rightfully use Firefox, be aware that many, if not all, telehealth platforms will not work on Firefox (something about the encryption/security not being up to their standard, I believe; if there are hacks that Firefox gurus know to bypass this, please share with the class?).
Any reason the developers of those sites give that is not 'we're too lazy to check compatibility so we're blocking Firefox' is false.

Holy shit! It's something I actually know a fuck ton about. So I'm a software engineer and my big project right after COVID dropped was to develop a telehealth platform for my company ASAP. So, the one I worked on IS firefox compatible but we did have to spend a lot of time doing firefox specific tweaking to get there. There were internal discussions about dropping support for firefox but we (thankfully) ended up on the side of it being too large a portion of our userbase to leave in the dust. Don't let them feed you bullshit, it's the money. It always comes down to the money. Usually, the head honcho isn't willing to shell out for any more than a bare minimum product

This is a really good example of appeasement behavior in cats.

This is one of the ways cats demonstrate trust and understanding. The kitten turns away, to further cement a lack of interest in playtime at the moment.
The kitten lies down slowly, occasionally looking to the older cat for more approval. Finally, the little yawn at the end isn’t to go ‘i’m sleepy’, but rather as a calming signal. Cats consider sleeping to be a communal activity. By settling down and imitating the older cat, the younger cat is displaying ‘yes, I understand Now Is Not Playtime, we’re cool, right?’
