I Write Things Sometimes

I'm slowly working on the next chapter and trying to make myself be happy with what I've written so far. In the meantime, have a preview.

Anyway, have some Aya shots that I took (I was messing around with different outfits). I only have a PS5 so I’m very limited in appearance mods (I do my best but I always feel they’ll never be as good as the shots people get with a PC).

Aya is older than Rolan by several years, but because he’s, well, Rolan, she likes to tease him and call him an “old man.”

The first time she said that, he just glared at her and said, “Are you calling me old? You’re older than me.”

Aya shrugged and told him, “I’m part elf, we age differently.”

Of course, from then on, Aya finds any excuse to call him old. And because he’s, well, Rolan, he of course has to prove to her how young and spry and virile he still is.

You’ll get partnered up with someone, and when one of you needs to write/draw/sew/clean/etc. the other will pester you/poke you with a stick/shake a can of pennies until you do the thing. And vice versa.

(7). Who is your OC's best or closest friend?

Before getting captured, Aya didn't really have good friends in Baldur's Gate. After the events of the game, Aya considers Shadowheart one of her best friends.

Uuuuuuuuh, tbh I don't really know haha. Unfortunately I'm not much of a DnD person so it's not something I've really thought about. I did a quick Google search and for now I guess I would say Bard in the College of Dance?

Probably Neutral Good?

(23). What color do you associate with your OC? What’s their favorite color?

I’ve been working on a few things, but I’ve been having trouble writing lately, so maybe posting WIPs will help me get motivated again.

Long fingers clamped around her wrist.

Aya froze.

Electricity shot up her arm at the contact, her pulse jumping beneath his grip. Her breath caught, the sensation immediate and startling, far too intense for such a simple touch.

"Aya." Rolan's voice was low, rough, his anger dropping it down an octave. She hadn't expected her name to sound like that: quiet, deliberate, stripped of the argument entirely. The word sent a jolt through her thighs.

Rolan used his grip on Aya's wrist to push her backward, stepping closer until her back hit the wall. The cool wood pressed against her spine, sending a slow shiver through her as he moved closer. She could feel his chest rise and fall, the movement brushing against her with every breath, and she had the disorienting sense that she couldn't quite remember what they had been arguing about.

I may not have been working on fics lately, but I did come up with a bunch of writing prompts featuring our favorite grumpy tiefling wizard, Rolan!

Rolan Solo

Rolan writes a letter to someone he misses…but never finishes it. What stops him?

Someone grabs his arm unexpectedly. He reacts before thinking, and afterward, he can't stop thinking about why.

Rolan catches his reflection while exhausted. He notices things he usually avoids.

Rolan accidentally overhears people talking about him. None of it is what he expected.

Rolan wakes abruptly from a nightmare. He can't remember all of it, only how it made him feel.

Rolan sits by the window while it rains, thinking.

Rolan reflects on his ambitions, and whether they're actually what he wants.

Rolan nearly confesses something…but stops himself.

Rolan acknowledges something he's been avoiding.

Rolan holds onto something he tells himself isn’t important.

Rolan x Tav (can be SFW or NSFW)

Rolan tells himself he only came to speak about supplies…but he lingers long after the conversation ends.

Tav stands behind Rolan to look at a spellbook. He goes very still when their shoulder brushes his.

Tav and Rolan end up sheltering together during a sudden downpour.

Rolan and Tav share a quiet conversation while everyone else sleeps.

Tav says something that genuinely makes Rolan laugh.

Tav gets hurt during a fight. Rolan's reaction surprises even him.

Rolan and Tav's hands brush when one passes the other something. Neither pulls away immediately.

Rolan guides Tav through a spell, standing behind them.

Rolan and Tav are forced into close quarters while hiding from enemies.

Rolan and Tav begin to argue...then they realize they're standing far closer than either intended.

Rolan says Tav's name in a low voice, and it affects Tav more than they expected.

I have so many WIPs and I’m having trouble sitting down and actually finishing them.

I have several one-shots that I start writing and get excited about, but then I hit a certain point and I either don’t know how to continue or I lose the motivation to keep going. I’ve been writing fanfics for a LONG time and I’ve never had this issue.

Now I’m wondering if anyone else deals with this? If so, how do you push through, finish the fic, and post it?

(I’m almost positive it’s mental block due to my brain being a jerk and telling me that there’s no point in finishing, my writing sucks, blah blah blah. But it helps knowing there might be others out there that have the same problem.)

So I finally left my job the other day. I’ve been having some health issues, plus my parents need help right now so it was for the best. I have some money saved up for bills and whatnot, but I’m also going to keep looking for a job and maybe try to get back into sewing again.
