Keep Calm And Write Hayffie

It was the night after the Games had finished and as usual, District 12 wasn't the one who came out. It was the seventy-third year, just two more years before the quell. And it was also her eleventh year and she realized that she's slowly losing hope. Her other fellow escorts were able to bring home a Victor on their second and third year, sometimes even during the first. Is she that much of a failure?

She frowned. No, she shouldn't be let down by this. She isn't a failure and she knows she had done everything she can to bring at least one child home to District 12. If she is to blame anyone, it should be Haymitch Abernathy. Not her.

She isn't really paying much attention anymore to applying her make-up when she just jabbed her right eye with her eyeliner and she let out a yelp.

"Shi-" She blinked furiously, trying to blink out her teary eyes.

"Trinket! If you won't hurry up, I'm going back to my room." Bastard.

"I'm coming!"

"What are you doing anyway? Don't tell me all those crap are too hard to put on." A creek coming from the door and she turned around, facing him. By now, the irritation was long gone and she stared at him with wide eyes.

Oh, and did she mention that she hasn't put on all her make-up. Or any clothes for that matter.

Haymitch gave out a low whistle as he looked at her body that was only wrapped in a towel, his eyes darkening but still a teasing glint remained. She tried to control a shiver as he noticed the shift in his eyes, trying to mask it with anger.

"Get. Out." It'd be a death wish if he didn't obey her commands. But then again, this is too good to pass up.

"If I knew this is how you really look like all along, I would have tolerated that damn voice of yours!" He was laughing now.

"Get out, Haymitch!"

"Hey, maybe we can put that pretty mouth of yours to good u-" She slammed the door in his face, her cheeks glowing red.

"Hey Trinket! Maybe we can pass this party up and you jump on my bed tonight?" He was howling with laughter. Bastardbastardbastard. She swears she'll kill him one day. Seconds passed and she hears him retreat (while still laughing, of course) as she lets out a breath. This is taking too much of her time. She-

Effie went back to getting herself ready, not wanting to put more embarrassment to District 12 by being late. But somehow, she can't take her mind off of Haymitch's words.

Tonight was the after-party for the Escorts and Mentors alike for a "job well done". with the Games. Sponsors were also invited as well as the President and the Gamemakers.

It was all a piece of shit. The only reason why he agreed to come along is because Trinket threw out all his alcohol and threatened to postpone the monthly delivery to his home. Obviously she can do that since she was the one who payed for it. Tonight was the only night he can drink himself to oblivion all over again and that's the reason why he came. Who cares if the bar only has champagne and all the girly drinks on their menu. Beggars can't be choosers and he'll take what he can get. It's still alcohol nonetheless.

As he swirls his glass filled with blue liquid, he watches every move of his escort. She was annoying. Overly bright and optimistic, but he would be lying if he said he wouldn't bring that woman to his bed. He hates her for everything she believes in and for her position and she knows the feeling's mutual.

She was talking to one of the junior Gamemakers. Bane? Clane? No, wait. Is it Crane? Yeah, yeah that must be it. Seneca Crane. As of now, she was laughing at one of his jokes, occasionally sipping from her glass.

Chaff unexpectedly elbowed him in the stomach and he gave out a huff and glared at him.

"Jealous?" Chaff said.

"Why would I be?"

"'Mitch, that woman has been your escort for more than a decade and you're telling me that you're not the slightest bit attracted to her?"

"I would be. But then her voice turns me off. I bet if we were to have sex, I have to gag her." Chaff laughed. "What?"

"So you admit you do want her?"

He shrugged. "Occasionally."

As they talk, something caught his his eye. Dear God, what the fuck is wrong with that woman? As he turned back fully to Effie, his suspicions were correct. Crane's hand was already on her ass and she didn't give a damn! She just giggles and whispers things on his ears, resting her hand around his neck while the other one holds her wine.

His eyes narrowed, his fist clenching and he was sure his pants are getting tighter. Effie may be doing it with another man but this was the only time he was able to see her like this. So...bold. And daring.

"I'll be back later, Chaff." He slammed his glass to the counter and stood up. Walking confidently to their way.

By the time he got there, Crane was ready to kiss Effie but he cleared his throat. At the foreign sound, Effie lets go of Crane and awkwardly drank from her glass.

"Haymitch?"

"Oh, you must be Mr. Abernathy!" Crane offered his hand. "So nice to meet you. Effie was just telling me about you."

He raised his eyebrow. "Oh, really?" He grabs Effie by the upper arm and pulled her to his side. "While grinding up on her, right?"

He didn't give Crane a chance to reply since the moment he finished talking, he started dragging Effie away.

"Let go off me!" He brought her to a quiet side of the ballroom, making sure no one would be able to see them.

"That wasn't what you were telling Crane when he got his hands all over you!"

"What, are you saying that you're jealous?"

"No, I'm saying you're a slut, Effie Trinket. Flirting and sleeping with men just to get  to the top!" Slap. 

A few people looked at them, trying to see what's going on. Haymitch waited for them go back to whatever they were doing before grabbing her again to lead her to a more private space where they'll be able to shout at each other with no one listening.

He brought her to the nearest room which turned out to be men's restroom.

"I shouldn't really be here, Haymitch!" She blushed.

"Well, you shouldn't have started flirting with Crane in the first place!"

"He's a Gamemaker, Haymitch! And he's going to be the Head Gamemaker next year!"

"That doesn't give you the reason to throw yourself at him!"

"We can win this Game for once, Haymitch! And since you won't participate, I'm doing what I can to produce a Victor!"

"By whoring yourself out?"

"By currying favour! I do all the work while you sit around all day, getting drunk and intoxicated!"

"There are other ways to win this thing. But jumping on random people's beds isn't the way to do it!"

"Why the hell do you care, anyways?!" He felt himself harden at her anger and he pushed her against the sink, making sure her body is pressed against his as he whispered to her.

"You really want to know why?" He said, his voice was harsh and he pressed himself to her again, making sure to draw out a response. She purred as he made contact with their nether parts.

"Are you that desperate to get fucked?"

"Haymitch..."

"I know your type, Trinket. I have women like you throw themselves at me." At this, he gave an open mouthed kiss on her neck and she moaned.

"I..."

"I've seen the way you look at me, Effie. And it doesn't take a genius to see what it means." He bit her shoulder, his hand trailing up her skirt.

"Oh, Haymitch..." Not the one who gave up so easily, Effie fought back. This time, she was the one who pressed up to him, making him groan.

Effie continued to rub herself at him, making him gasp. She feels heat starting to build up in between her legs and she threw her right leg around his waist, making the friction between them increase and drawing them closer together.

Haymitch, on the other hand, is completely hard. His pants can't contain it anymore and when Effie threw her legs around him, he was sure he wouldn't last for long. He got angry as the woman was able to dominate him and he grabbed her ass, bringing her up and slamming her against the cold-tiled wall.

"Didn't know you were the into lace underwear, Trinket." She blushed more on his words as she gave out another gasp as he enters a finger inside of her.

"Haymitch..." Her eyes were far away and Haymitch gave her a smug grin.

"This what you wanted, right?" She nodded once, gasping again as he hits the right spot. Before she was able to release, he withdraws his finger, his smirk never leaving.

"No..." She pouted, clenching his shoulder in hope that he will give her what she wanted. When it was clear that he was only going to tease her, she slammed herself to where she thought his bulging cock were. He grinded herself against him, feeling like a whore and she could care less. Haymitch grunted, a stream of curse words came out of his mouth. As he surrendered to pleasure, his grip loosened and she slipped down to the floor, kneeling.

As he was about to enter her, a voice dragged them out of their own world.

"Holy shit!" Finnick shouted. "Am I really seeing what I think it is?"

"Oh my!" Effie tried to cover herself with what she can. Haymitch quickly pulled up his pants and tried to cover Effie with his body.

"What the hell are you doing here, Odair!?"

"I was just going to wash my hands when...Oh my god, Haymitch! I didn't know you had it in you, you old man!" The younger man punched him in the shoulder and Haymitch brushed him away.

"Get out!"

"Shit. Is that what Ms. Trinket really looks like without her dresses? No wonder you weren't able to resist!" Finnick winked at Effie and her blushed deepened. At this, Haymitch growled.

"I said get out, Odair!"

Finnick raised up his hands in mock defense. "Oh, don't worry, Haymitch. I've already have hundreds of Capitol women begging me to take them to my bed. She's all yours!"

Finnick ran out before Haymitch was able to grab him by the neck to strangle him. A few moments of silence passed when Effie spoke.

"So...my room or mine?" Haymitch smirked at her red face, satisfied that she wanted more.

"For someone who's clean all her life, you sure are a dirty one, Ms. Trinket."
